Thank you so much for your kind words and congratulations @MooBaggage , @RobinEllacotStrike, @alltablenochairs, @claudiawinklemansfringetrimmer, @Reginaphalangeeeee and @weallhavewings. I worked out that I took my first MJ jab 44 weeks ago in April 2024 and have lost 87lb since then (I lost a bit pre-MJ on the Fast 800 but couldn’t sustain it). That makes it sound like I’ve had a nice smooth, consistent 2lb loss per week but the reality is more of a series of mini-stalls and mini-whooshes! Your enthusiasm has helped me to see what an achievement it is and that I should celebrate, so thank you. I had been feeling a bit flat after some nonsense with STBXH earlier this week but I’ve had a word with myself and am feeling better!

On discreet packaging: I’ve used Bolt and Medicine Marketplace and both came in anonymous boxes.

A few NSV this week:

  • my neighbour didn’t recognise me at first when I knocked on his door 🤣.
  • I took my children swimming and realised I have no swimwear that fits, so I had to choose between a one-piece that might not contain my boobs or a rash top with bottoms that might fall down. I went for the latter but it was touch-and-go getting out of the pool as they very nearly did fall down. It was amazing to be able to push myself up and out of the water effortlessly. I used to spend the last ten minutes of the swimming session panicking about how I would get out, as the pool has slightly rickety steps which I never trusted with my full weight.
  • I dug out of storage a vacuum-packed bag of clothes that I put away about twelve years ago when I gained weight after DC1 and had largely forgotten about. They fit perfectly, some even a little loosely. A very welcome boost to my wardrobe!
  • Then last night I went to the theatre and sat very comfortably in a seat which would have been definitely incredibly uncomfortable and quite possibly simply impossible to sit in at my heaviest.

Happy Sunday, lovely losers Flowers

God please ignore me @MooBaggage I can't edit but I'm mixing you up with someone else on another thread 🫠🫠🫠

I do hope you don't have any troubles!

I really really need a decent sleep 🙈

Ha! I have loads of troubles and was trying to remember if I'd been on any other threads 😀😀😀

MooBaggage · 23/02/2025 11:38

Loving the NSVs and in particular ones about theatre seats as this (and plane seatbelts) is one of my biggest fears. I like going to see things but have always squished out and/or got bruises down the outside of my thighs - so painful!

Am hoping that when I next go and see something it's at least a bit more comfortable now.... Can't wait to not have this worry and just be able to plonk myself down anywhere. See also restaurant booths 🙄

Re-reading this, it sounds like very first world problems - am totally not always jetting off and going out, honest..! 😃

RobinEllacotStrike · 23/02/2025 11:46

I went to the theatre last week and can confirm the seats are now quite generously sized.

RobinEllacotStrike · 23/02/2025 11:48

And when we had to squeeze past several people to get to our seats, no one was in danger of being squashed by my butt.

SilenceInside · 23/02/2025 12:00

I've been doing some wardrobe sorting, selling some size 22 and 20 stuff on Vinted. I have a collection of smaller clothes that I would like to be able to wear again, and this week I have started wearing a top and a skirt from that collection. Probably a size 16 to 18 top and a size 18 stretchy skirt. More amazingly, I have a pair of Toast trousers, totally non-stretchy, in a size 18 and today I could actually get them on and over my thighs and bottom. The waist is a bit away from zipping and buttoning up, but I was amazed that they fitted on my thighs and bum. Last time I tried them on a couple of months ago they wouldn't get past my thighs! I hope it won't be long till they do up properly.

SqueakyDinosaur · 23/02/2025 12:10

Ah yes, the Trousers of Truth! I have a few pairs of those....

Carolwithane · 23/02/2025 12:51

Well done all, so inspiring to read all the SV and NSVs especially today!

I've just taken my 6th jag yesterday and have list about 12lbs (I only weigh every few weeks) but having a bit of a wobble well more of a tantrum tbh that it's been 6 weeks and I'm still massive 🙄 I know, I know just having one of those days where you think what's the bloody point.... gonna take ages! Started at 254lbs so a way to go and actually just want a magic wand 😆

Anyway we move....

I'm with you! I'll be taking my 6th jab tomorrow - will weigh on Wednesday as that's when I'll be ordering my next lot - and am also thinking why aren't I smaller yet, goddamnit!

But I tell myself my body has been like this for decades - it's going to take at least a year to repair it. I think mini targets are helpful for me - you'll have your first stone coming up! I will be below a BMI of 40 soon (hopefully...).

We just need to keep doing what we're doijg...

Arglefraster · 23/02/2025 13:23

Sorry you do have troubles @MooBaggage 💐 but it's definitely NOT you I was thinking of. I hate the bloody app I normally triple check any @'s because I'm so liable to use the wrong name - see what happens when I don't triple check!!

Thanks for the comments on packaging sounds like bloody oushk are the exception here. Idiots. Paying more for the old packaging that they have left in the cupboard is just cheeky! (& their delivery isn't cheap anyway) Urgh really CBA with changing supplier but needs must.

So many of you are so so much further along this path it's amazing to see these small child worthy numbers 😁
I'm now 16kg down ("helped" by an upset stomach the last couple of days) which is incredibly close to the most I ever lost in one go and I'm really struggling with how separate the flab feels from the rest of my body. The way it moves around me rather than being firmly attached to me. Can anyone tell me does this phase go away as the fat under the skin reduces more (or maybe possibly the skin tightens?!!?) or is it just going to get worse?

I'm not going to stop but it's forcefully reminding me that people noticing/commenting and this sensation of separation are my usual self sabotage triggers so some idea of how it progresses from here would help me try to manage that I hope.

Orangesandlemons77 · 23/02/2025 13:50

I feel conflicted about Oushk, I think their stance on maintenance is good and like that they seem more geared to the individual but put off by their FB group, their use of Tick tock 'influencers' and the packaging issue.

Reginaphalangeeeee · 23/02/2025 16:30

Love reading all your posts! Especially enjoying the NSV.
Yes to theatre seats and plane seatbelts.
To be honest, any seat I sit with complete embarrassment that it gives the person next to me less space.
I have a long way to go but the prospect that this won't be a worry is wonderful!!!!

So weigh in:1.2kg down this week on 1st of 3.75mg.
I am at the end of my 5th week and lost 10kg

SW 136 kg
CW 126kg
GW ?
Mini goal under 118Kg before Easter
Mini goal under 107Kg by ? Start summer
Not really sure what is possible.
Under 100 - I can only dream of this

My question: I have been on 3.75mg this week and suppression good (until day 6-7). Was worried about jump to 5mg.
Shall I stay at this 3.75mg this week or work up to 4.25mg this week?

Anyone with experience?

gimmemounjaro · 23/02/2025 16:49

What would be worse @Reginaphalangeeeee - a week where suppression wears off early and you stay the same weight, or a week with some side effects (assuming that's what is worrying you about going up, have you been suffering with side effects already? Or is there one in particular you are worried about?)

Reginaphalangeeeee · 23/02/2025 17:19

@gimmemounjaro
Good questions.

Guess I worry it is recommended to go straight to 5mg from 2.5mg and that nothing less is considered a 'clinical dose'.
Early on (week 1-2) I had headaches and fatigue that made me useless for2-3 days and nausea.
I am worried about coping with that and my grief but desperately want to keep loosing weight.

I have read about others doing interim doses but not really clued up on how long it should take to transition up to 5mg nor how long I can stay on that level.

I guess in my head, the lower the dosage, the more likely maintenance will be successful? Not sure that is true either though.

SqueakyDinosaur · 23/02/2025 17:29

Well, you seem to be doing pretty well on a "sub-clinical" dose - 10kg in 5 weeks, blimey!

gimmemounjaro · 23/02/2025 18:06

I think you don't need to worry - it's designed to be taken as 2.5mg for 4 weeks and then straight to 5mg.
So if you're tolerating 3.75mg well and can feel it wearing off then you should be fine to go to 4.25mg. (NB not a doctor!)

I'm not sure there's any evidence that staying at low doses means you're more likely to keep the weight off, but it makes sense not to go up unnecessarily. Some people respond more readily and some are less sensitive and need a bit more, I think that's all there is to the varying doses that people find themselves on.

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 23/02/2025 18:17

@Orangesandlemons77 so glad it wasn’t just me (and I moved before packaging-gate!). I think that Hira is great and really proactive but too many other niggles for me to stay!

WeAllHaveWings · 23/02/2025 20:48

Those thinking of moving provider due to the packing issue if you want, stick a factual review on trust pilot and it may influence them more than their groupies gushing on Facebook at their new pretty pink packaging making them feel extra special 🤦🏻‍♀️. Can remove it later if they step up and resolve the issue.

I would stay with them for the delivery date, DPD convenience, and maintenance but the packaging and paying for it just doesn't sit right with me at all.

CatTraveler · 23/02/2025 22:56

So its been a good while since I have checked in on here -

As of my weigh in last Friday I have been on MJ for 32 weeks
SW 134.7kg (21st 3lb)
CW 109.8kg (17st 4lb)
So I have lost 24.9kg, an average loss of about 0.75kg a week. (3st 13lb)

I was away for just over 2 weeks in January where I ate and drank what I wanted, was aware of my choices but didnt restrict. I weighted a few days after being home after I had started drinking a good amoutn of water again and I had put on less than 1kg :-) Really happy with this.

I have done one month on 2.5mg, one on 5mg and then 4 on 7.5mg and went up to 10mg last month. I was conflicted if I should go up or stick on 7.5mg, I needed to make a decision when I was away on holiday and decided to go up as I felt that I might not be getting the supression I wanted. The 10mg is defiently giving me that again!

Targets... I do have one for 100kg and was aiming for this by mid April when I am away for a fornight again (I am not always on holiday - this will be me till later in the year!) however I am not sure if I will hit that so I have revised it so I want to have lost 5 stone by then. I am one of these people who if I feel a goal isnt achievable I will lose the motivation for it.

CatTraveler · 23/02/2025 22:59

Oh and I am with Oushk and am just playing catch up with the discussions over the packaging. I havent ordered since they have given the option for descrete packaging.
My husband doesnt know I am on MJ and to date I have managed to get the post before he does and I would be happier if it was less eye catching as the time he picks up the post he is less likely to ask questions about it.

Darlinghag · 23/02/2025 23:02

@RobinEllacotStrike yay us!!

I totally missed an MJ milestone too - I am now on week 28 (as of this evening!) so I am now well over 6 months on the jab. Feels like forever but also a flash!!

Reginaphalangeeeee · 23/02/2025 23:11

Thank you @gimmemounjaro & @SqueakyDinosaur

I decided that as 45 clicks is 3.75, I would do 50 clicks today. A little increase. Next week all being well I will do 55, then finally reaching 60 (full 5mg dose.

alltablenochairs · 23/02/2025 23:17

Def not a Simple Online Pharmacy groupie but this is where I get my MJ from. They use DPD to deliver and their packaging is completely plain. To the extent that DH who took my last parcel in wanted to know why I had asked him to stick a parcel of clothes in the fridge.

Dosage wise I am on 10mg and have been on this for a while now. It's working for me and as long as it's working I have no intention of wanting to up it. Still have a long, long way to go before I have a healthy BMI though. By my rudimentary maths and from progress to date this should be in just over 10 months time. However real life doesn't work like that and I'm expecting it to take around another year. Onwards and downwards.

Does anyone use protein/meal replacement shakes and if so could they recommend one/a particular make? I've been buying the big cartons of 'for goodness shakes' from Sainsbury's but I am bored of chocolate/strawberry now. I use them for breakfast- on a school day it's flat out craziness and by the time the kids have gone I'm exhausted, need to go back to bed but at the same time need something quick and easy to have. The only ones I can't hack are slimfast- I had to do 2 weeks of x4 slimfast ONLY in preparation for surgery last year (that got cancelled) and I've got something of a mental block about them.

Orangesandlemons77 · 24/02/2025 05:00

Some shakes I have found OK: Purition, Huel and the Fast 800 ones.
