@SlimmingCavendish did you try any of the Peloton gym workouts?

@0ncemorewithfee1ing thanks for sharing that. I agree that more checks are needed on some of the prescribers to be more patient focussed and actually be present for those who need more support. Just seeing all the side effects on this thread that we’re all trying to muddle through on our own worries me. Women as so used to putting up with bad side effects - pregnancy, pmt, the pill, the coil, PND etc I can’t help thinking if men were suffering as much there would be much more personalised support on offer.

I’m week 5 day 3, my main side effect of dry mouth and early evening tiredness has disappeared this week, which made me wonder if I’m acclimatised to the 2.5mg dose and it’s not having an effect. But I’m still feeling full after 300 cal meals, and easily tracking between 1000-1200, so I think manageable appetite suppression is still there. I’ve stalled the last few days on loss, but I’m also keen to not lose too quickly at this stage as I’m trying really hard to maintain muscle.

HeavyHeidi · 04/02/2025 10:03

*Constantdieter *it's a challenge, I was looking at my calorie count app yesterday and thinking that wow that's way too little, I need to eat more! Very strange thought, not used to it.
But if you have no appetite, this is exactly what you need to do. Treat the food like fuel, even if you don't actually fancy it.

HubbleBubbles · 04/02/2025 10:05

Urgh I took my first 5mg pen on Saturday and I feel sooo sick this morning. I haven't eaten yet and I think I will feel better when I have but I'm out of the office on a site visit and really hoping I don't throw up 😭

SneakyLilNameChange · 04/02/2025 11:37

I've just had my 5th week (4 + bonus) of 2.5mg. Not sure if I've just got used to it but Im definitely feeling the suppression less and more food noise so Im ready for the next dose but Im worried about nausea etc. Think I might do the 45 clicks and do 3.75 for at least a couple of weeks to see how I go! I have lost 6kg in 5 weeks which I thrilled with!

Chopsticks888 · 04/02/2025 13:07

I’m currently taking a week off, so I missed my dose on Friday. My pharmacist who was very supportive and helpful, agreed this was probably a good idea given how unwell I was last week (RHR was 109, eek!). This week all back to normal, although nasty case of bronchitis, which I’m actually relieved about since last weeks awfulness was probably as much to do with having a virus as mj side effects. Interestingly I’m still eating much the same, albeit it’s an effort, and the weight loss is continuing. It’s so much better having some kind of appetite, full suppression is too much. I have learned that I’m very sensitive to mj effects and will try 1.25mg next to see how it goes- would rather increase, than struggle to eat. Good luck to all in finding the right dose!

IdentityCrisis101 · 04/02/2025 14:06

NSV over here for me - weigh day tomorrow so not sure on loss, but in 5 weeks I have lost

3 inch off my waist
2 inch of my bust
3 inch off my Hips
1 inch of each thigh
2 inch of each upper arm

My waist is very noticeably different for me - I have an hourglass figure so it really stands out to me.

Zempy · 04/02/2025 14:19

Re the support provided, I have to say that I have absolutely no complaints on that score. Juniper send me weekly surveys on how I am feeling and actually get back to me if for example I say I am constipated, or finding it difficult to find time to exercise.

I have a health coach who contacts me every couple of days too, using the app. However, I am paying for this indirectly as I know I could get cheaper. I knew I wanted a complete package though.

It is a worry that people with anorexia might be able to access the medication though.

0ncemorewithfee1ing · 04/02/2025 15:01

It would be a real shame if the actions of a few irresponsible pharmacies and people trying to game the system creates problems for everyone else.

What if you originally went on it at an entirely reasonable level of being overweight but were now just off the normal bmi index and wanted to get to your goal and then stay on a low level maintenance dose? Not that this remotely applies to me, mind you!

Thelittlestranger · 04/02/2025 18:11

I wonder if this is going forwards for new patients, rather than those already on it. I guess I would fit in the above @0ncemorewithfee1ing

I was 30.9 BMI - after 5 weeks I'm nearing 'overweight' BMI. I would be gutted to no longer be able to have access to help me reach a lower weight/BMI. It's a game changer for me.

IBloodyLoveMyBlanket · 04/02/2025 18:22

Well done @IdentityCrisis101, the waist measurement is one the BHF recommend using as opposed to just BMI, so your loss there is great.

MananaMananaPenelope · 04/02/2025 18:23

I think I’m giving up folks. I just feel rotten, generally unwell, shaky, my heart rate is much higher than normal. I’ve just used a dipstick and my urine is showing mid range keytones and my temperature is still raised.

I can’t afford to be ill, it is just me and DC here and I want to get on with stuff.

I might go to see my GP tomorrow if the keytones don’t resolve. 🙁It took me four months to pluck up the courage to use my pen too, post cancer I knew I couldn’t work with too many side effects.

Zempy · 04/02/2025 18:35

I took my bonus dose from 2.5mg pen today, a day early. I am due in court for work on Thursday and Friday and wanted to give myself a day’s leeway in case I react badly to the slight increase.

As it was, I was only able to extract 7ml so not even 3mg of product injected. I had noticed that I was getting hungry today, so it’s definitely time for me to move up to 5mg next week.

I am chuffed to bits to be “overweight” today, rather than obese. I have lost 4 inches off my waist too 😍💉❤️

So sorry to hear this. Maybe it’s something you can get back to at a later point?

Howinthehelldidthishappen · 04/02/2025 18:43

@MananaMananaPenelope sorry to hear that, sounds really rough. Hope you're ok.

MananaMananaPenelope · 04/02/2025 18:46

Thank you 🙏. My blood pressure is high too, just taken it.

I just don’t think it’s for me if this is how it looks in my body. Of course it could be something else entirely but I haven’t really got any other symptoms.

Really sorry to hear this. It does sound miserable and you have already been through such a lot too.

DGonMJ · 04/02/2025 19:37

@MananaMananaPenelope hope you feel better soon, so sorry it’s not worked out for you. Maybe see a GP about getting some antibiotics if your temperature doesn’t come down.

Thelittlestranger · 04/02/2025 19:47

@MananaMananaPenelope when the balance of side effects versus benefits is skewed like that, I don't blame you ❤️

myladyjane · 04/02/2025 19:53

@MananaMananaPenelope oh no. Do the right thing for you and look after yourself.

MananaMananaPenelope · 04/02/2025 20:06

Thank you all, you are very kind. I feel as weak as a kitten. I’ll report back if I go to my Dr tomorrow, fingers crossed I don’t feel the need to.

FatGirlLosing · 04/02/2025 20:15

Get well soon @MananaMananaPenelope - you’ve made the right call x

JoanCollinsDiva · 04/02/2025 21:50

Hope you feel better soon MananaMananaPenelope 💐

Ive been hungry today for the first time since I started. Ate three bags of walkers baked crisps one after the other. I felt really annoyed with myself but then I've totted up my calories and still come in around 1300 so not bad. I'm not sure if I'm maybe due on as my cycle is a bit erratic.

I think I'm ready to go up to 5mg next Friday though!

Has anyone done the 4th 2.5mg dose and then the bonus dose at the same time to take them up to 5mg a week early? Next Friday feels like a long time away if im feeling this hungry again for the rest of the week 😔

Sorry to hear you're feeling so rough @MananaMananaPenelope 😥. I definitely think with your medical history you need to be very careful and take all the advice from your doctors. Sending you love and hoping you feel better soon 🤗

@JoanCollinsDiva I really don't think that would be advisable, as the four weeks are needed to get your body used to the medication so that you can move up steadily.
