After maintaining on my second weigh in (pesky TOTM), I had a sneaky weigh in today (W3 D4) and I'd lost 3lbs since Friday- just to reassure anyone maintaining or gaining during their cycle! 3rd official weigh in this Friday.

That being said- I've felt really hungry today. Tempted to snack since tea time. I'm tracking calories with Team RH and I'm still 100 under my goal but it's usually about 400-500 under!

Really undecided as to whether to go up to 5mg for my next pen or not. I don't want to fully suppress my appetite as I love my food and I'm definitely making really good choices with nutrition etc now.. but just don't want the old snacking habits to start creeping in already. Those of you who've moved up to 5mg- has it felt massively different?

MananaMananaPenelope · 03/02/2025 21:26

@Lynca I’ve got a folding treadmill. Bought in December to help me get more steps in on my wfh days. I haven’t used it since starting MJ 12 days ago 😩. I’ve felt either tired or ill, or I’ve walked 5000 steps as part of my commute.

Hats off to everybody building in exercise 🏆, that’s not me btw 😂 at this point.

Thiscouldbefun · 03/02/2025 21:27

I’m at W2D3 and been hit by exhaustion today. Barely managed to WFH and had to have a nap before popping to the local shop this evening. Managing to stay in calories but definitely more food noise this week than last

cherrycherryblossom · 03/02/2025 21:31

W3D4 and the supression has been very strong this week - until today and that awful time between getting in from work and dinner being ready. I could have eaten a scabby horse no problem! But I managed to stay strong and wait for my (boring) dinner to be ready. Back to feeling full now and hopefully suppression doesn’t fade completely before next injection day.

myladyjane · 03/02/2025 15:17

@TwinklyUmberTurtle I am please for you. I am still not feeling so great. Without being too grim, where I do eat, transit time is 'speedy' albeit slightly less awful than it was yesterday. Also the wind has been phenomenal - thank god I'm wfh and can mute!

I have eaten a bit today albeit plain stuff. I really need this to settle as a, I have to go into the office and b, I am taking my daughter on a trip on Saturday and am nervous of taking my jab on Thursday night if this hits again.

Sorry you aren’t feeling better. It’s so hard when it’s sore and you just don’t know what to do to make it go away.

MananaMananaPenelope · 03/02/2025 21:59

@myladyjane sorry I missed your other update. I hope it settles down.

mumsrthebest · 03/02/2025 22:49

Really enjoying the MJ journey so far. I am on WK3 D2. Had a large chicken salad today and felt totally stuffed afterwards and just had some Thins with low fat cheese spread on for tea. I won't eat now until tomorrow lunch time. I am a little concerned that I am physically not getting enough calories down me. I think I've only had about 1000-1200 today. Surely not very healthy? The food I am eating is not junk though at least that is a bonus.

Could someone tell me how they do a bonus dose??

SW - 13st 12lb
CW - 13st 3lb
GW - 12st

NikkiC1975 · 03/02/2025 23:32

Randomusernameforcode · 03/02/2025 17:43

Jab 6 done.
11.5lb gone in 5 weeks.

This is my first jab out of a 5mg pen. I did 45 clicks to extract 3.75mg. I plan to do this for the whole pen, including bonus dose so I should get 6 out of it.

That will take me to 36 days of the pen been open. I have weighed (haha) it up and I'm comfortable with the risk.

I'd be interested too hear how others get on with 3.75mg if they're doing that also.

I’m W5D3 and did 3.75 out of a 5mg pen on Saturday morning.

Apart from a bit of nausea and tiredness throughout the day I’ve been fine. I reintroduced alcohol this weekend after dry January and no issues to report…that said I haven’t drank anywhere near as much as before. It’s a combination of not wanting to undo the good I’ve done but also just not that interested.

I’m thinking of doing another two 3.75 jabs and then going for a full 5mg to see how I get on. Going on holiday for 2 weeks on 15th March so want to be settled into a dose x

LillethCrane · 04/02/2025 06:19

Good morning all. Just weighed in at the end of week 3 and feeling very frustrated to see that I haven’t even dropped an ounce…

I tried to eat a little more this week as I have been eating fewer than 1100 calories for the previous 2 weeks, so I was aiming for 1200 this week and I reintroduced alcohol on Saturday night (still within my calories).

I bought a walking pad at the weekend so I’ll be putting in more steps this week and see what happens, but I feel very deflated this morning.

UnderandOverwhelmed · 04/02/2025 07:00

Sorry to hear that @LillethCrane . Are you due on? I don't think i will have lost this week but I am really bloated, I think as I'm due my period. I remember from other weight loss cycles I've done that your period can really stop weight loss because of the water retention, but it does eventually come off again.

LillethCrane · 04/02/2025 07:05

@UnderandOverwhelmed no I was on my period last week so I expected it last week but lost a good amount. It doesn’t make sense 😫

It’s making me think of my many times on Slimming World where I would maintain, or lose half a pound for weeks on end despite sticking to plan. The weight goes on so quickly though doesn’t it!
Oh well, need to put it behind me and carry on!

MananaMananaPenelope · 04/02/2025 07:07

Good morning.

@LillethCrane I’d be disappointed too, I bet it’s a temporary blip.

I hope that everyone with side effects feels them less today.

I’m absolutely knackered. Got up an hour later than I was meant to and I’m in the office until 6 tonight 😩. I’m not sure I’ll stay on MJ if these side effects don’t settle down tbh. It’s no picnic that’s for sure.

kmreeve · 04/02/2025 07:09

W4D1 - Jab Day
w1: -6lbs
w2: -4lbs
w3: -5lbs

sw: 16.7
cw:15.6
gw: Not sure yet, seems to far away

its Jab 4 today ( will do at 9am) - this week my suppression has been stronger than week 2 and I can only attribute that to moving location from thigh to tummy. So I’ll be doing tummy again today.

however, I have been really bad at getting the calories in, I am eating too clean : so need to think about maybe a protein shake to bump it out.

still debating if to do the golden dose, as I prime the one with a minuscule drop, I think it will have more than the average dose, so may be a good bridge to 5mg. But also thinking sod it just go 5!

not really had any side effects apart from the odd wave of nausea, but it only ever lasts a minute of two when I do get it, so nothing that isn’t manageable.

still don’t see any difference in my appearance, hubbie says he can but I know his just being supportive, bless him!

I have an event in March that I’d love to not look like an elephant in Lycra for.. not sure how much I’ll loose by then, but onwards I shall continue!

0ncemorewithfee1ing · 04/02/2025 07:19

@LillethCrane i think we can all sympathise - those numbers hold a strong power! I’m not sure of the science, but it does seem as if, if your body thinks it’s being starved, it holds on to fat like mad. But you will ultimately see a drop - just keep the faith!

im on W3 D2 and I have had no hunger suppression yet - but very few side effects, just some mild heartburn. I will just keep going with the 5mg firmly in my sight. I’m intrigued to know what it is like when food noise stops.

MananaMananaPenelope · 04/02/2025 07:53

I think it’s a good thing, although I also think that prices will have to rise.

I didn’t have to verify my stats on my first order with ouskh, no photo required- they asked for one on my second order.

It didn’t fill me with confidence tbh and I checked the pharmacist was registered, twice!

FCforMounjaro · 04/02/2025 07:54

@0ncemorewithfee1ing I really hope it’s not harder for people with a genuine need or that it’s more expensive. This has been a ray of hope for many.

I’m weed 4 day 2
SW 12.1 and a half !
CW 11.6

W1 -6
W2 - 2.5
W3 - 1

I’m ordering a 5mg pen for next dose. Suppression not as good and just nauseas and a bit of insomnia as side effects so far (touch wood).

myladyjane · 04/02/2025 07:59

Ok so I don't know if it was the pepto or just time but things seem to have settled. Just feel vaguely off (think mild hang over/early pregnancy). Last nights dinner didn't rush out and burps sulphur or not have gone.

Just ordering my next pen. Still have a couple of doses left on the 2.5mg including the extra dose and have decided to do 3.75mg. Didn't realise Zava need a scales photo so off to do that now. Fun.

TicTac80 · 04/02/2025 08:30

I don't blame them for needing to tighten rules as it is worrying to hear that people (who ARE a healthy weight) are being prescribed these meds (they does come with a big cavea* though!). When I registered with Zava, I had to provide time stamped photos, give my GP details, show my weight etc. Yes, my BMI was below 30 (it was 28 something), but I'm from the ME, and have a family history of heart problems and diabetes. Thank God, I don't yet have these issues myself but the BMI ranges for what is healthy etc are slightly lower than for someone who is white British.

*I do hope though, that it won't hinder people who genuinely need the meds. It's such a nightmare trying to see GPs and I understand that there are waiting lists for this type of thing. I think if more people are able to address high BMIs sooner, then it helps them, reduces risk of health related issues and that would only be a good thing for them (and for the NHS): i.e. reduced risks of diabetes, heart problems, strokes etc.

I managed to eat well yesterday and I've got a protein smoothie and soup for today (I made them). I'm on a late shift today but I want to cycle in to work as that will be good exercise for me. Parking would be crap at the hospital I work in too, so bonus there!!

CurlsandCurves · 04/02/2025 08:42

Morning all, hope everyone’s ok.

Week one done and I’ve lost 2lb. I’m trying to convince myself I’m ok with that, but the other part of me was hoping to be one of those who loses half a stone in their first week! Still, slow and steady is good, and I did say if it helps me lose 2 lb a week I’d be happy, so I need to give myself a shake.

This is the week I get back into exercise too. I’m off work today so after breakfast I’m heading to the gym followed by a food shop. It must be a good 6 weeks since I last went so it’ll feel like I’m starting again but I’ve got to do it. I do enjoy it once I’m there.

TicTac80 · 04/02/2025 08:47

@CurlsandCurves, it's the getting yourself to the gym that can be hard, isn't it?! I had that quite a bit!! I'm about to get my bike stuff together to cycle to work. Hope I don't freeze! This will be a nice amount of cardio for me (even though I do have an ebike!), and I can beat the traffic, not worry about parking etc, so a few small wins.

HeavyHeidi · 04/02/2025 09:39

I'm abroad and I agree that getting the drug is way too relaxed. I tried out of interest 4 different online pharmacies. One asked for photos, but the rest of them were happy to prescribe just based on what I wrote on the form. I've seen plenty of people on social media boasting that they use it to get from size 10 to size 6..

Jins · 04/02/2025 09:40

W4 D4 and I’ve woken up feeling starving hungry. Yesterday was the same and it took a lot of effort not to raid the fridge. Mind you without MJ I definitely would have succumbed.

Hoping there’s a reasonable amount in the bonus shot on Friday.

I feel the same about suppression. I'm also scared if I get too much suppression, I'm relying on that rather than equipping myself with the tools for the future once I'm off MJ. But I'm still in week 1 so might change that view 😂

Constantdieter · 04/02/2025 09:49

Lurker here 👋
Just need a bit of help.
I'm on W2D3 on 2.5mg.
I have ZERO appetite, and I mean ZERO.
I'm drinking coffee full fat with 1 sugar 5 times a day as I can stomach it, and forcing myself to eat.
I have some left over premade slimfast shakes which I'm having about 2pm and a small portion of whatever I'm cooking the family.
My calories are way below 1000 daily, and protein is way down.
I have lost 8lbs so far (4 the first day so I'm not really counting them tbh).
Some ideas would be really helpful please 🙏🏼
