@TwinklyUmberTurtle I am please for you. I am still not feeling so great. Without being too grim, where I do eat, transit time is 'speedy' albeit slightly less awful than it was yesterday. Also the wind has been phenomenal - thank god I'm wfh and can mute!

I have eaten a bit today albeit plain stuff. I really need this to settle as a, I have to go into the office and b, I am taking my daughter on a trip on Saturday and am nervous of taking my jab on Thursday night if this hits again.

IBloodyLoveMyBlanket · 03/02/2025 15:26

@discoballv do you still have the £30 off code? I know they're supposed to go on a separate thread, so if you'd PM me that would be great.

This is good to know, as I'm not losing loads per week but I also weight train and I can fit into my old clothes perfectly

Jab 6 done.
11.5lb gone in 5 weeks.

This is my first jab out of a 5mg pen. I did 45 clicks to extract 3.75mg. I plan to do this for the whole pen, including bonus dose so I should get 6 out of it.

That will take me to 36 days of the pen been open. I have weighed (haha) it up and I'm comfortable with the risk.

I'd be interested too hear how others get on with 3.75mg if they're doing that also.

Dammit!

Check out the monj site. I switched provider for my next order and got £50 off bringing the total to a little over £100 once delivery was added.

Well done @Randomusernameforcode , that's a great loss.

Suppression seems to be good today. I had Greek yogurt with some fruit and flaxseeds for breakfast, had cake for lunch as a one off out and I’m not hungry for dinner. I will eat a little portion as I’m on 800 cals so far for the day. And I’ve cooked for the family- if I was on my own I’d be tempted to just have some scrambled egg.

Thelittlestranger · 03/02/2025 18:16

Oh to be able to just think about yourself for dinner 😉

@Randomusernameforcode I'm on Day 2 of 3.75 and it has definitely upped my suppression from the past two weeks, but I haven't had any of the other side effects such as heartburn or burps. Weirdly, I wouldn't have said my suppression had lessened until probably Saturday - but now it's increased, I can tell it had. I hope that makes sense? Haven't decided if I will do the full 5 on Sunday or not. Will see how I feel...

Lynca · 03/02/2025 18:19

Checking in, wk2 d4.

I lost 4lbs in my first week which I was happy with, I had already lost a few lbs in the lead up to taking my first jab whilst trying to get into good habits. If I can maintain an average loss of 2lb a week I'll be content.

I've been quite lucky with side effects, up until today all I had noticed was a few sulphur burps a few days into my first week. That and the fact my period made an appearance despite only finishing it a couple of weeks previously!
This morning I had pretty bad diarrhoea (TMI sorry) but that seems to have tapered off now.

Suppression has been good, but some days I'm struggling to hit my target of 1200 calories. I'm doing intermittent fasting so don't eat breakfast, but have been making sure I have a decent lunch and dinner with a good helping of protein in each meal, and having snacks such as Babybels and protein yoghurts when I remember. And drinking 2l water every day.

It's amazing not having the 'food noise' and being able to just plan and make my meals without getting hangry or wanting instant gratification!

I already ordered my next pen as I wanted to make use of a £20 voucher Oushk was offering before it expired. It's too early to tell what dosage I'll want next so I erred on the side of caution and ordered the 5mg, I figured I can always do smaller doses if I feel I'm not ready for the full 5mg dose yet.

I've set myself a target of 15k steps a day for February, but I understand weight training is super important so I'd like to incorporate that a few times a week. I did do a workout video on YouTube but my quads were painful for nearly a week afterwards!
If anyone can suggest a few exercises that I can do every day to ease my muscles in gently, before progressing to workout videos, I'd be grateful!

Well done everyone on your progress so far!

Jins · 03/02/2025 18:22

@Randomusernameforcode i plan on doing 3 @ 3.75, 1 @ 5 and will make my mind up when I get to the bonus dose but I have to say I like your plan as well

Cuppaandcakes20 · 03/02/2025 19:19

I took my first 5mg dose on Friday. I felt awful yesterday and today- really sick and couldn't eat anything at all.
I had good suppression on 2.5mg. It started to be more challenging towards jab day but felt like I was making healthy choices rather than being unable to eat. so I'm kicking myself that I went up!
I'm not sure what to do- take 3.75mg? Go back to 2.5mg?

Randomusernameforcode · 03/02/2025 19:27

@Thelittlestranger
Yes that makes sense, thank you. Hoping 3.75 works like it has for you 🤞🏾

@Jins
Have you done the dose yet or is that your plan? You could even do the full 4 at 3.75 and you would have enough to do 5 for the bonus dose. That would also keep you in the 30 day guidelines.

@Cuppaandcakes20
I would be tempted to try 3.75 rather than fully drop back to 2.5, at least way you're still building the medication in your system but know you have another lower dose to fall back onto if needed.

MananaMananaPenelope · 03/02/2025 19:31

I'm sticking with 2.5mg for now @Cuppaandcakes20 . I've felt rubbish the last few days, of course it might be something else and not MJ, but its hard to tell isn't.

I'll reconsider at the end of month 2.

Friends, I feel better than I did this morning, the left hand side pain has gone, I think, 🙏, it might have been constipation. My stomach feels like it does leading up to ovulation when I become constipated and everything hurts for a few days afterwards.

I'm very impressed at those counting the clicks and having a different dose, wouldn't have occurred to me to do that at all.

Randomusernameforcode · 03/02/2025 19:40

Glad you're on the mend @MananaMananaPenelope it's really tricky to differentiate what is the jab and what is possibly a bug isn't it! Suppose this time of year doesn't help either when there's all sorts of virus flying around.

Thanks @kathjee this is really good to know and I have followed her. Well done on your progress: that is fantastic that you are back in your old clothes. I used to WT and just getting back into it after jab 3. I was listening to Dr Huberman podcast and he says it's vital to WT 3-4 times per week.

@MananaMananaPenelope so glad you are feeling better. I'm going to stick on 2.5 next month too. 😃

myladyjane · 03/02/2025 19:54

I did a bit of reading on how to manage upset stomach and sulphur burps. Reddit suggested the best thing to settle is pepto bismol and guess what has just been reintroduced to the UK and had a huge F off display in boots!

So fingers crossed. I have gone for a banana and some rice (BRAT) for dinner and oddly don't feel in any way hungry. Let's hope it clears or I will disappear!

Jins · 03/02/2025 19:57

@Randomusernameforcode - it’s just my plan at the moment. I’ll be doing the bonus dose on Friday and I’ve just ordered a 5mg pen.

Thanks @GrumpyMuleFan , I’ve signed up to the free trial and will see how I get on!

I sorted myself out with a walking pad and a sit-stand desk which makes it a lot easier to fit extra steps in during my working day on top of taking my dogs out, so I really have no excuse not to hit my target every day!

Re. consistency, have you read Atomic Habits? I’m listening to it on audiobook at the moment and there’s some really useful tips around starting a new habit with small actions that you can stack with something you already do every day, such as squats while brushing your teeth, and then building it up. I’d recommend it if you haven’t already read it!

I did about 3.3 mg last week with the bonus dose, no problems or new side effects. Suppression was better than with 2.5 mg, but I'm going to 5 mg tomorrow - fingers crossed.

So far, being really cold and slightly constipated have been my only side effects, both manageable. I take Senna tablets every few days and make sure to drink loads, and that seems to work.

I still need to work on my bad habits, I find myself snacking even though I have no appetite. It's almost an automated action, and I need to watch it, especially when I'm tired and/or stressed. I don't need it for sustenance, so why do I do it?!?

GrumpyMuleFan · 03/02/2025 20:10

@Lynca I have Atomic Habits but have never finished it... Thanks for the reminder as lots of baby steps are probably a better path to consistency....

YourMerryLemonWasp · 03/02/2025 20:57

Really interesting reading about side effects with people moving up the dosage - hope all feel better soon, I’m going to 3.75 on Thursday so will report back! We got the ofsted call today so didn’t manage to eat until 7pm (I know, really bad) so going to get up v early to make sure I have time for a good breakfast before two days of fun(!)
