I'm going to be a buzzkill here I'm afraid and put my "teacher" hat on as honestly I'm finding some of the posts on here a bit worrying..
I know the urge to lose weight fast is understandable - we all want to be our goal weight NOW - but I just want to remind everyone that healthy weight loss is classed as 1-2lb a week. This makes it easier for your body to adjust, minimises the risk of loose skin and of piling the weight back on.
Mounjaro isn't supposed to be a quick fix - its purpose is to work alongside helping us build a healthier relationship with food by not being able to binge and enabling us to stick to a heathy amount of calories. Taking the "food noise" away means we can really think about what we're putting in our bodies instead of mindlessly eating. IMO We need to use this opportunity to try and make healthier choices and learn a new way of eating so that when (if) we come off it we are less likely to return to our old ways.
I know it's a cliche thats trotted out but we need to remember it's a marathon, not a sprint. Being upset that you've "only" lost 22lbs in 4 weeks is crazy! Please take a moment to consider that is a 5-6lb loss every single week, that's a lot. A LOT!
Another thing I'm reading about a lot on the older threads is the loss of muscle mass when weight is lost quickly and how difficult it is to build it back up. Loss of muscle mass seriously shortens your life span and we should all be doing some form of weight/resistance training to try and minimise this happening. Caroline Girvan on YouTube does some fab videos that are really east to follow.
Anyway, lecture over - I don't mean to sound patronising I am just concerned about some of the posters that seem a little disordered in their thinking and want to offer my two pen'erth.
If your weight is on a downward trend you are doing this! It's working! That's something to be happy about - not chasing big numbers and then feeling sad by setting yourself unrealistic goals xxx
Im off to get a bit of pampering now at the hairdressers and hopefully not looking quite as puffy in those unforgiving mirrors as last time now I have lost a bit of weight!
Well done everyone - here's to another great week 💪
