@Jjsmum2007 omg! I actually meant to put 11 st down!! That will teach me for trying to do things in a rush as I'm going out the door to the gym 😂

MJalltheway · 30/01/2025 11:22

Is anyone using Voy? I'm really liking the meal logging and the way it tells you how you can improve your meal for next time.
also really interesting that it asks you to log your level of hunger when you eat, I'm almost never any more than 'slightly hungry'.
I think these little things help to make you really consider what and when you are eating so instil good habits for afterwards.

FrenchFancie · 30/01/2025 11:37

I’m using Voy, started in January and enjoying it. Like the meal logging and suggestions, although it’s quite a fan of suggesting broccoli with everything!!

happy with progress so far, just received my second pen this morning

MJalltheway · 30/01/2025 11:43

I haven't had broccoli suggested at all yet, I seem to get Greek yoghurt and peanut butter! Clearly I'm lacking protein.

sundaydayisnotmyfundayday · 30/01/2025 13:20

Hi everyone. I am injecting for my 3rd 2.5 tomorrow.

No side effects aside from a little nausea and headache the day after injecting but not super high suppression either. I am tracking on nutricheck and averaging out at 1400cals and 107g of protein a day

I lost 5lb the first week but this week I seem to have started my period so not sure what that will do to the scale. My bloody sugar has come down from an average of 13 to 6.8 though so very pleased with that!!

mince3point14159265 · 30/01/2025 13:22

Great to read all the losses! Scales are definitely moving in the right direction 👏

Hi everyone. My end of week 4 weigh in and I only lost 1lb this week. I seem to get a good loss of 3lb/4lb every other week and just 1lb in between, but that's a 9lb loss for the month. I'm happy with the way it's going and know the losses will probably slow down even more as I go on. I managed to get the bonus dose out with a syringe and it was surprisingly easy after watching a couple of videos. It's too expensive to waste! I haven't decided whether or not to go up to 5mg as I'm doing well on 2.5mg with no side effects.

Good luck to everyone. This medication is just amazing.

IBloodyLoveMyBlanket · 30/01/2025 15:45

Very little suppression going on here (w2d2), and sadly not much willpower happening either.

I feel a bit full and a bit nauseous, but not enough to stop me eating.

hagforlife · 30/01/2025 15:52

GrumpyMuleFan · 30/01/2025 08:24

@hagforlife that sounds tough. I’ve struggled with constipation for years and different things work at different times. At the moment I’m in a good groove with Magnesium at night and a Movicol sachet each morning. My doctor suggested this last year. I also take a teaspoon of psyllium husk most days and some prunes.

When I’m constipated a tummy massage really works at helping things along and to feel more comfortable. Lie down. Start at bottom right and work up, the across, then down. Use small circular movements with flat finger tips or a tennis ball.

Something else that’s really worked is literally spending more time on the loo! I now do a couple of Suduko puzzles first thing - takes about 20 mins. At the beginning nothing happened, but over time it has.

Good luck.

Thanks for replying, someone else has mentioned prunes also so I'll give them a try first and see how it goes

Howinthehelldidthishappen · 30/01/2025 18:40

Bonus dose done.
Felt very odd using a syringe rondraw it out and injection myself though. Not sure i liked that.
Had 0.7 left in the pen, so the dose was about 2.9 instead of 2.5, and i have my 5mg pen ready to start next week.

sociallydistained · 30/01/2025 19:50

Did my golden dose today and it was 0.7ml so a bit more than 2.5 and trying to bridge the gap before I start 5mg next week. I really felt like I over primed on week one so it's amazing there's more than a full dose left in these pens isn't it!

My period finally came today a week later with some pretty intense pain but I seem okay now. I will finally weight on Saturday after missing it last week as I felt bloated and didn't want to be disheartened.

Chopsticks888 · 30/01/2025 19:56

W4 D6. Side effect update: after 5 days of chills (manageable with socks, oodies etc) and all over body pain (not so easily manageable) it felt like my immune system had gone haywire, completely floored me, I spoke with my pharmacist who said it sounded like I was having a hypersensitivity reaction, and reassured me that it wasn’t dangerous and would go away. She also recommended staying on 2.5 dose. Annoyingly I have a 5 pen lined up in the fridge. I am extremely reluctant to risk a repeat experience and asked if I could take a week or two off, which she also recommended. Today thankfully everything has gone back to normal quite suddenly. I’d be surprised if my body is going to think the medication is friend rather than foe all of a sudden so am very reluctant to continue. 1 or 2 tricky days is ok, but writing off 6 is not. I haven’t seen anyone else on this thread that’s had more than a few days of being freezing cold, but I’d be interested to know if this sort of reaction tends to subside, or increase (as it has seemed to) with repeated exposure. Might try a teeny tiny micro dose from bonus bit left in pen next week after a week off, although will be stretching 30 days longer than I’d like. It does work brilliantly though, love the fact I’m no longer using a hair bobble to connect the button to the hole of my jeans, that’s a great loss! 4.5kg to be precise.

broccolini · 30/01/2025 19:59

Hi all.
How are you getting your protein in...? Am trying to prioritise protein... but need to get a bit creative as all I seem to be eating is chicken breast and Greek yoghurt... and never get to 100g.

So did you have this side effects when you first started or did they come on in week 4? So weird as I’d assumed by week 4 our bodies would be getting used to it, hope you feel better soon

supplements. There were some clear ones recommended earlier, and I also bought a Nutri+ Matcha Latte, which has 76gr protein per 100 gr and tastes surprisingly pleasant.

Chocolateporridge · 30/01/2025 20:23

I've been lurking on this thread because I started Mounjaro this month, I'm about to take my 4th dose of 2.5mg. I'm nervous to move up to 5mg because of the increased possibility of gastric side effects, so I've been wondering..... could you take 2.5mg, then 3 days later take another 2.5mg, so that you're getting the full 5mg dose in one week but you're stepping it up through the week?

I am permanently cold, my feet are like ice blocks constantly. I have been wrapped up, oodie on, thick blanket and hot water bottle and still not warm. Its manageable though, and not something that has put me off, annoying as it is. It does seem like your reaction is more severe.

broccolini · 30/01/2025 20:33

Thanks @HeavyHeidi .
Will take a look and see.. just thought those things were for weight lifters/ athletes (certainly not me!)

ETPhoneHome19 · 30/01/2025 20:36

I'm also constantly cold, it's harder to manage at work but at home in wrapped up in my dressing gown with a hot water bottle.

I took my third jab on Tuesday night, 8.5 lbs down. Not posted on here much but I read the thread daily

I had coldness and fatigue for 1-2 days on the week 2 and 3. I thought things would get better too, pharmacist thought it could be due to higher levels of mj building up.

DGonMJ · 30/01/2025 21:09

Sorry to hear about your chills @Chopsticks888 have you tried doing any cardio exercise to see if it warms you up?

I’m week 4 day 5 and got my period today right on time. It’s made me feel usual fatigue, dizziness, but also a bit of nausea which previously I would have fixed with a bit of chocolate. I’m massively under my calories today, but I don’t know if I can force myself to eat another 400 calories. Might just have a hearty breakfast tomorrow.

I agree, the coldness is unpleasant and not ideal, sounds quite horrible for you, at least mine did wear off, eventually.
It is the other flu like stuff that’s the bothersome bit. Who knows, maybe there was something else going on.

DGonMJ · 30/01/2025 21:16

@broccolini tuna, egg and bean salad is one of my protein lunches.
Turkey steak - breadcrumbed at home and baked instead of fried.
I also add nuts and seeds to porridges/yoghurt.
But yes I’m eating a ridiculous amount of chicken.

Hi all.
How are you getting your protein in...? Am trying to prioritise protein... but need to get a bit creative as all I seem to be eating is chicken breast and Greek yoghurt... and never get to 100g.

Where is this need for 100g of protein per day coming from that I keep seeing mentioned? My understanding is that about 45g daily is right for women? Unless you're a weightlifter I don't think 100g per day is necessary?

Anyway, Ive just googled and apparently the top 20 foods that are high in protein are:

  1. eggs
  2. Chicken. ...
  3. Tofu. ...
  4. Salmon. ...
  5. Oats. ...
  6. Beef. ...
  7. Tuna. ...
  8. Almonds.
  9. lamb
  10. broccoli, 11. turkey, 12. Greek yoghurt
  11. Lentils, 14. peanuts, 15. prawns,16. quinoa, 17. chickpeas, 18. kidney beans, 19. paneer & 20. tempeh (whatever the hell that is!)
and a skinless chicken drumstick has around 23g of protein so you could just have 4 of those a day if you like chicken 🤷‍♀️ may get a bit boring though.
