I am having my 5th bonus dose tnyt. And will be getting 5mg, I'd love to do the 3.75mg but the pen will surely have quite a lot of medicine in it before the 30 days are up. Then it has to be chucked away

Fountofwisdom · 28/01/2025 22:46

Took jab 4 today but noticed that there still seems to be a lot of liquid left in the pen. I’m sure I’ve followed all the instructions correctly. Is this the ‘golden dose’ everyone talks about? Why do they put so much surplus medicine in the pen? I’m not interested in faffing around trying to get this extra bit out, but just wanted to check is it normal to have this much left over after 4 jabs, or have I gone wrong somehow?

@Fountofwisdom I had that much, I just tugged it a bit more than usual to unclick it and injected as usual. No messing about. Not fussed what dose I get really, it's working quite well on me and I might be going up to 5 mg anyway

mince3point14159265 · 28/01/2025 23:23

@sociallydistained doing fine this week, thank you ☺️, suppression seems good but it's still early in the week. Planning on going up to 5 at the weekend 🤞

So you got a 5th dose out of it in the usual way? I see everyone talking about having to use a different needle etc to extract the extra bit. I’m reassured that you had the same amount left over, I was worried that somehow I hadn’t been doing it correctly and had maybe not administered a dose.

mince3point14159265 · 28/01/2025 23:29

@Fountofwisdom that's totally normal to have leftover liquid in the pen. I didn't manage to get the pen to work for the bonus dose but didn't try too hard as I wanted to see how much it actually was by using a syringe. This was really easy to do and another poster has said they plan on doing it for all their jabs as they found the syringe easy to use than the pen.

@Fountofwisdom I think some ppl use a syringe to extract because it can be difficult to twist for some, but also to see what dose Theyr getting. I was able to twist it easily , iv up my weights during weight train haha. And re dose, I don't mind if I get a bit less or bit more

myladyjane · 29/01/2025 05:50

Can I ask about sleep pls. Coming up to end of wk 2 and I haven't slept through since I started. Today I woke at 4 and can't get back to sleep . Have to be up at 6.30 so have given up now.

I am peri so sleep is precious at the best of times. I usually manage it with magnesium and q10 (which I also take for migraines).

Some of it I know links to the water I'm consuming. I am having to get up for a wee and then can't get back. Some of it is work stress as it's an awful month at work.

But is anyone having issues just because of the mj? Other than nausea my symptoms are fine.

I do want to get a handle on it as I know how important sleep is for weight loss and also I cannot cope with my migraines coming back.

FCforMounjaro · 29/01/2025 05:53

@myladyjane me too. I wake in the night, then v early. I’m hoping it settles. I’m week 3.

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 29/01/2025 06:10

Yup woke 5ish this morning and really need to be sleeping. I take magnesium at night but now I'm early waking. I hate it.

IBloodyLoveMyBlanket · 29/01/2025 06:13

Morning all. Just weighed in at the end of the first week and have lost 2lb. I was hoping for something more spectacular given that by Saturday I’d lost 2.4, but somehow I’ve put that bit back on and have finished the week at 2lb.
I’m definitely eating way less junk than before, so that’s good.

HeavyHeidi · 29/01/2025 06:46

Has anybody found a decent protein shake? I have always weight trained so don't want to lose muscle, but it's hard to eat enough protein. I've tried seveal powders, but they are either too floury or sickly sweet. Anything that has a more pleasant taste? Or no taste at all?

IdentityCrisis101 · 29/01/2025 06:46

NikkiC1975 · 28/01/2025 22:01

Please report back how you get on, my plan is to do the same on Saturday 😊

I have had the 3.75mg this morning, I have extracted the golden dose before so the process wasn't new to me. It is much easier than using the pen (i think). Now to symptom spot haha!

SW 14stone 11.75lbs
CW 13stone 10lb

Only another 3 stone to go!

myladyjane · 29/01/2025 06:50

@IBloodyLoveMyBlanket well done though! 2lb is 2 lbs.

Boo on the sleep for others. I am hoping the work stress should ease after this week and the mornings are lightening up which is good. I think I will have to be vigilant with caffeine after lunch and no more drinks after 5. Outside for a walk in the morning and phone down by 8. At least if I get to sleep by 10.30 a 4/5 am waking is still a 6 hour chunk.

On the plus side for day 6 of w2 I still have a bit of suppression. Am definitely hungry for my meals but I am not over eating and not picking. Am expecting way less on the scales this week - be chuffed with 2lb, expecting 1...

Have you tried the clear ones? They are sweet but more like juice. I'm using the Protein Works Clear Diet Whey Protein orange and mango flavour. 20g protein in 350ml

Teamrh protein powder is the best imo. Flavour is incredible and no weird taste. Code HARRISONAFFORD gives 20% off at the mo.

I hate protein shakes, with a passion.
So I bought some unflavoured protein powder and mix in with my porridge every morning. There is a slight taste, but nothing horrific. And it's better for me than trying to drink something!

IBloodyLoveMyBlanket · 29/01/2025 07:23

Thanks @myladyjane Smile

On the subject of sleep, I’ve slept better these last few weeks than I have for a while. I stopped HRT and I wonder whether this last week on MJ has kept my blood sugar more level due to reducing sweet junk, and maybe that’s helping me sleep.

I drink the Üfit protein drinks - they still taste quite floury, but it's manageable.

Thankyou. I’m reassured now that at least I did get my 4 doses. I’m planning to go up to 5mg next week anyway as I don’t want to hold up the weight loss process by staying on 2.5 any longer than I need to. But it’s good to know there’s potentially an extra dose there if I need it once I’m on 5mg.

mince3point14159265 · 29/01/2025 08:16

@myladyjane yes, it's affecting my sleep too. Sometimes it's hard to get off to sleep, other times I wake at 3 or 4 and can't get back to sleep. I'd describe the feeling as a bit like when you've got something big coming up the next day (good or bad) and you have nervous energy/adrenalin in anticipation, if that makes sense? ----

OP posts:
myladyjane · 29/01/2025 08:23

Yes that's it. It's the cortisol spike isn't it. Hopefully it will pass. It is making me think I'll try 3.75 for next pen as I can't risk my migraines coming back and lack of sleep is a big trigger :(

My period is due this week. How has everyone found their period week?

Late!

FatGirlLosing · 29/01/2025 08:29

Funnily enough I just logged in to ask about sleep having not posted for a while (NC’d from FatGirlDosing!).

I wear an Oura ring and whilst I am sleeping through the night okay, my resting heart rate is around 60 bpm for the few days after the jab, only going down to around 54 later in the week. I am particularly stressed at the moment due to work issues, but I can’t help thinking it’s the MJ. I’d normally be between 48-52 bpm on average. I’m wondering whether it’s the slow digestion of dinner?
