I think it is probably genuine and the way I look at it is if it is placebo effect it doesn’t actually matter. Great to hear of health benefits starting to happen.

Just had bloods and asked the nurse to measure me as they had problems at hospital at rheumatology as I couldn’t stand up properly due to my hip. I’m 1.5cm taller than hospital said so now just sneak into bmi under 35 so am class 1 obese rather than class 2, I started at morbidly obese at the beginning (ages before Mounjaro).

She also agreed to test cholesterol next blood in a month as mine had gone up a fair bit and surgery were apparently supposed to refer me to lipids clinic but forgot. I’m hoping that a cleaner diet will see a reduction.

Constantdieter · 28/01/2025 14:54

Hi! Glad I found you :)
Had my first jab on Saturday morning, about 3 minutes after the box arrived!!
I've had zero appetite, but I'm the same every time I start a 'diet', it's like a switch gets flicked in my head!
But this time does feel different as I don't fancy anything sweet or alcoholic AT ALL which is so not like me!
Anyway, I am a constant dieter. Lost 21lbs on slimfast 2 year ago and gave up as i missed food (wanted to lost 28lbs).
I've put 14lbs back on since.
My new goal is 35lbs so here we go.....!

Ireolu · 28/01/2025 15:23

5mg has been approved. Hopeful it will lead to some pounds off. I clearly need a new mindset as I give up quickly if I see no results. Need to keep repeating to self marathon not sprint.

HousePlans · 28/01/2025 13:30

@keeponplodding7 how are you feeling today? Did you do the second jab? Just done mine after no issues with breakfast and lunch. 😅

I haven’t done it yet! I’m feeling ok - almost hungry so I need to do it really

Thiscouldbefun · 28/01/2025 16:22

I took my first dose on Friday. Started feeling hungry again today, but strangely craving protein - could literally sit in Costco and eat Rotisserie chicken all day… odd.

Hi everyone,
I posted a little on the first thread, but I’m now trying to catch up so sorry if this has been asked already, but how are people feeling about reordering, and going up. I did week 3 of 2.5 on Sunday. My weightloss has been good (11 pounds in the first 2 weeks), and I’ve had light appetite suppression but nothing so strong that I can’t eat anything. Some days I’ve been hungry and have eaten, but never felt uncomfortably full after. However, side effects have been tough. Lots of naseau, a day or two a week I’m totally wiped out. And a few really bad headaches.
i’m worried about going up to 5 and the side effects getting worse. I’m quite happy with my appetite suppression at the moment, it could be stronger but my willpower is also sti high. Anyone any thoughts. Think I’m ok to stick with 2.5?
Thanks

I was definitely in two minds as lost a fair amount on 2.5 - but end of third week and actually had hunger pangs today! So I’ve ordered 5 but am going to do 45 clicks and just do 3.5 in first instance

IdentityCrisis101 · 28/01/2025 16:34

I am going to go up to 3.75 tomorrow, I am going to extract the correct dose with a syringe. I am worried about the jump from 2.5mg to 5mg and I am away with family this weekend and don't want to make myself unwell. Has anyone else done this?

Pandora71 · 28/01/2025 16:36

Microdosing update:
W1: 1.25mg, -3lbs
W2: 1.25mg, -1lbs
W3: 1.25mg, -1lbs (definitely feeling suppression wearing off, and enjoyed some bigger social meals intentionally)
W4: 2mg ....

No significant side effects.

HubbleBubbles · 28/01/2025 16:59

I've been following this thread from the beginning, did my 1st injection the first weekend in January - I've been logged out of Mumsnet for years and have FINALLY managed to hack my way back in 😄 I don't even remember picking this username 😅
Anyway, I'm now on my last week of .25 pen, the appetite suppression has been fantastic for me , and I'm sure it's helped with dry January as well! So pleased to feel in control again. Side effects have been some nausea in the mornings but I've discovered I can combat it with a big flask of cold fruity squash !
Have loved reading every ones experiences so far ❤️
Think I'm about half a stone down, haven't weighed this week yet.

Overthemoun · 28/01/2025 17:10

Just posting to join onto this thread!

im part way through week 4 now and down around 11lbs.

EverybodySayCheeze · 28/01/2025 17:27

@YourMerryLemonWasp thanks so much. I got the reminder to reorder today, and I did think I would wait until I’ve done jab 4 next week to actually decide - so thanks for this, really good advice, I’ll wait and see what I’m like then.

The 45 clicks you mention, does that mean you basically do a smaller dose rather than the full 5? So you count 45 rather than go to 1? (Sorry if that makes no sense, struggling to articulate!)

mince3point14159265 · 28/01/2025 18:39

@EverybodySayCheeze it's 60 clicks to get the pen to 1, ie. full dose, therefore if you do 45 clicks it would be 3/4 of the dose. On a 5mg pen that would be 3.75mg.

cloudjumper · 28/01/2025 18:52

Just done the bonus dose - managed to get 0.8 ml (3.3 mg) out of the pen, let's see how this works. I was really hungry today, so going up feels right.

Yes, so you can control how much you are taking in stages rather than jumping straight up. You can also do half measures if you want to go back down to 2.5 if side effects are too much.

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 28/01/2025 20:19

If you do the 45 clicks - does it let you only do it 4 times (like the 4 doses it normally lets you have) or does it let you do it the 5 times? or use all the liquid?

I'm not doing it its just now got me curious

millenialmolly · 28/01/2025 20:41

The last few days I've had terrible diarrhea in the morning for a few hours 😫 overall I'm feeling good, not getting pains or feeling sick etc- just an upset tummy every morning.

Has anyone else had this and did you find anything helped?

As I say I'm feeling good in myself and want to carry on. Currently on W2 D5.

Snoopibird · 28/01/2025 20:44

I've used it 5 times - 2.5mg, 2mg, 1.6mg, 1.6mg, 1.6mg. It's now down to the last dosage line. I'd be surprised if I got another dose out of it by clicking, I wasted quite a few clicks on priming. I read somewhere that it stops working after a certain amount of clicks, maybe 260 or so.

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 28/01/2025 20:57

That makes sense.

mince3point14159265 · 26/01/2025 17:35

@Grecianrainbow I tried the 59 clicks trick when I took the 4th dose, then when I tried to use it yesterday it clicked round a few times before stopping. I did manage to twist the pen hard to force it round but then it didn't seem to do anything, so I used a syringe. Like TheLittleStranger, I got about 70ml out, so hope that extra bit might act like a bridging dose before going up to 5mg next week. I linked the syringes from ukmedi.co.uk further upthread if you need to get some.

How have you been getting on? I'm doing the bonus dose Thursday then have a 5mg pen and wondering if to do more than 0.6 if that should come out.

Thelittlestranger · 28/01/2025 21:43

I have found increased suppression from the bonus dose of 2.9 definitely - also increased indigestion, slower digestion. Having gone the route of just a small increase, I'm pleased I didn't jump straight to 5mg full dose, and it's likely I will take equivalent of 3mg with clicks from the next pen on Sunday.
