@Jins there's this thread that lots of people have charted their weekly progress on. It might help to see that you're not the only one starting off slower than you'd like but the cumulative weight loss as the weeks go on is more heartening. I hope you stick with it 🤗

Weekly Weightloss Progress Thread, Mounjaro. | Mumsnet

Anyone care to share their weekly losses? Think it's good for people to see that there are a variety of losses. My first weigh in is tomorrow so will...

I ordered new pen today. Week 2D2. Not much to report on the weight loss front. Definitely eating less. Hoping the lack of shift on the scales is due to hormones and a dose increase will be reflected on the damned scales!

Jins · 27/01/2025 20:09

Thanks @mince3point14159265. I’m just mulling things over really but have to be realistic that at this dose there’s not much happening. I’m going to move up to 5mg and give it a really good go

Focussingonme · 27/01/2025 20:57

Checking on for thread 3, I'm W4D1. 13.5lbs lost so far, had a small loss this week of 1.7lbs (week 3) so assuming this is the start of things slowing down. My second pen arrived at the weekend and I stuck with the 2.5mg. Not sure if that's the right approach but I'm getting decent suppression, no side effects and still having to exercise a little will power towards the end of the week.

Snoopibird · 27/01/2025 21:04

Week 2 d1!!

Sw 84kg
Cw 82.4kg
Gw 65kg

Just realised up thread i accidentally put 94 instead of 84!

Anyways. Really happy so far! 1.6kg lost
I think that's equal to 3.5lbs....

BreezyPeer · 27/01/2025 21:33

I've ordered and received my next pen. I went for 5mg but might actually go 3.5 as I do have good suppression.

I seem to be having a mini plateau no loss for a few days.
I am hoping it will come off by my weigh in on Thursday. So brilliant to hear of everyone's progress!

HousePlans · 27/01/2025 21:35

Some lovely losses going on. Really good to see.

I should be doing my second jab tonight but have had terrible stomach pains and diarrhea for the first time this evening, so I'll give the jab a miss tonight, I think?!

Otherwise a great first week. Some very mild side effects but good food suppression for the first 4 days then tapered off over the weekend.

I weighed this morning and I'm down 6lbs. Very happy with that.

Hope everyone has a great week.

@Jins I expect to be a slow loser, I've struggled with my weight not shifting for a couple of years. When I stopped taking the drugs that caused weight gain I thought it would magically drop off - not at all, not even an ounce.

I'm not sure I've had a fabulous food day today, no snacks though, a protein yoghurt for breakfast, grabbed the plainest egg sandwich I could find at about 3pm as I dashed through Tesco to the car park to drive to a 4pm meeting. I was starving when I got home, I had a 'normal' meal for me, salad, half of one of those easy cook things from Waitrose, chicken with feta, olives and tomatoes and a few new potatoes. 1000 calories, I think I could have made better choices.

@IBloodyLoveMyBlanket I’d count an evening jab as day 1. I am the same about food - it’s crossing my mind, but I feel really comfortable saying no to myself. I’m really enjoying calorie counting and logging what I eat. Only just started w2, so very early days, but this feels very different to day 10 of a diet.

@Randomusernameforcode well done with your weightloss - I think it’s fab. 👏🏼👏🏼

I’m worried that im going to look gaunt - I can’t quite believe I said that, I’m obviously feeling optomistic. 🤣🤣 I met up with a friend recently who has lost a lot of weight via WLI and she looked so different around the face. I think she maybe went a bit too fast…. Anyway, I googled it lots amd all the sites recommend 2lb per week, weight training, collagen and lots of water. So maybe 2lb/week is just the spot to be. Does anyone have any good collagen recommendations?

Edited

@GrumpyMuleFan I can strongly recommend Ancient & Brave “true collagen”. I’ve been taking it for 18 months. I have it in my morning coffee and it’s totally tasteless. Had good results with skin condition improving and a knee pain I had has totally gone (but resumes if I miss too many does).

I've just received this collagen powder from the Nutrabytes website. After 20% discount but with 1.99 shipping it came to 21.98. Apparently the marine collagen is better than the bovine? 2 scoops in a hot or cold drink per day. It's also really high in protein 😍 it's meant to be flavourless but it definitely has a slight tang to it 🤢 so i mix it with squash!

jyst Did 4th jab as been travelling for work so slightly late as didn’t want to fly long haul having just jabbed. 5kg down since 1st Jan. happy with that. I don’t look at/ do st/lb as bad habits of obsessing- KG’s don’t compute in my head!! So better to measure in then as no idea what they mean! 😂

HeavyHeidi · 28/01/2025 05:09

wow Fruitbatdancer 5 kilos is a massive loss! And the month isn't even over.

LillethCrane · 28/01/2025 05:51

Week two weigh in this morning and I’ve lost another 7lbs so that’s a stone in two weeks. I genuinely can’t believe it, it’s like a wonder drug 😮I’m sure the loss will slow as I become accustomed but I’ll take it for now.

A stone in two weeks is amazing! Bet you're feeling great.

MananaMananaPenelope · 28/01/2025 06:29

Wow 🤩 @LillethCrane that’s amazing. Well done.

I stepped on the scales this morning, W1D6. My weight fluctuates by 2 ish kilos depending on god knows what. I’m at the lower weight of my fluctuation this morning, last seen in December. Time will tell if it’s the start of a trend 🤞.

weigh and jab day! Week 2 loss was 4lbs ( I’m due on any second as well) happy with that.

suppression only seems to last a couple days and yesterday I went to sleep feeling hungry which wasn’t ideal. I have my 5mg pen ready to move up on week 5 but worried the next two weeks are going to be hard.

iv been injecting in my thigh, im going to do my jab in tummy today to see if it helps/changes anything.

well done losers!!

IBloodyLoveMyBlanket · 28/01/2025 07:04

Noooooo! I just got on the scales to find I’ve put on 0.2lb since Saturday! I’m on w1d7 and I lost 2.4lb between Wednesday and Saturday so I was sure I’d have managed more since then. I feel stupidly disappointed.

NothankyouNigel · 28/01/2025 07:09

unicornsaremagical · 27/01/2025 08:35

has anyone dropped a dress size yet? i’m a size 16, i’ve lost 1.1 stone in 16 days and was debating buying a pair of size 14 jeans as mine are very roomy now but don’t want to feel devastated if i can’t get them on. It’s so hard to work out what loss equates to sizes

Yes I think I have. I’m same as you - was a size 16 and just bought some 14 jeans and they’re roomy. Full disclosure, the advice was to size down at purchase BUT I’ve also just easily fitted in and fully zipped up an old size 14 coat which I couldn’t do before!

I took my 3rd jab yesterday and have had a 4kg loss so far which has shifted me from obese to overweight. I’m thrilled to bits that this seems to be working for me and a healthy weight / bmi might actually be possible.

I was day 7 yesterday too and felt really nauseous so didn’t take it either. I don’t think a day matters though….will try and pluck up the courage to do it today 😂

Seaitoverthere · 28/01/2025 08:09

Just realised I started a month ago today so weighed this morning and I have lost 8lbs . Very pleased with that and I have lost exactly what I expected to lose for the amount of calorie deficit I am in.

As I have been at it since November 2023 I won’t be getting the big losses of the early days (I don’t tend to get them anyway) and am not aiming for them as would like to stay within the 1 to 2lb a week loss level.

Total loss to date is 3 stone 2lbs and it now is showing. Friend who I hadn’t seen since the summer came round yesterday and stopped dead when she saw me with her mouth open which was quite funny! I think it looks more on me as I couldn’t stand straight before my hip op so was quite bent over and now I am upright again with about half the weight I need to lose now gone.

MissPobjoysPonies · 28/01/2025 08:59

So I’ve been measuring myself once a week and although I’ve not lot stones I have lost 6 cm on my abdomen! I started at 41.5 inches (105cm) and am now 38.9 inches (99cm).
Im so happy with that!

EverybodySayCheeze · 28/01/2025 09:02

Hi everyone,
I posted a little on the first thread, but I’m now trying to catch up so sorry if this has been asked already, but how are people feeling about reordering, and going up. I did week 3 of 2.5 on Sunday. My weightloss has been good (11 pounds in the first 2 weeks), and I’ve had light appetite suppression but nothing so strong that I can’t eat anything. Some days I’ve been hungry and have eaten, but never felt uncomfortably full after. However, side effects have been tough. Lots of naseau, a day or two a week I’m totally wiped out. And a few really bad headaches.
i’m worried about going up to 5 and the side effects getting worse. I’m quite happy with my appetite suppression at the moment, it could be stronger but my willpower is also sti high. Anyone any thoughts. Think I’m ok to stick with 2.5?
Thanks

EverybodySayCheeze · 28/01/2025 09:02

Also, now I’m catching up, just amazing weight loss around here - you’re all incredible!!!

GrumpyMuleFan · 28/01/2025 09:21

@SlimmingCavendish @Jjsmum2007 thanks so much for the recommendations. Going to have a good look today. 😎
