Welcome to thread 6 friends old and new! Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we traverse into 2025 with new bodies and new mindsets πŸ₯°

I’m on W11D5 and on my second 5mg pen
F in her early 50’s
H 5’ 5”
SW 13st 11lb
CW 12st 2.2lb
GW 10st (maybe 9st 7lb if I don’t look too saggy!)
Total loss so far 23lbs

Recommend the Shotsy app to monitor MJ in my system and pleasing graphs to look at…plus the MeThreeSixty body scan app to monitor inch loss for the weeks where weight loss is slow but you might have lost body fat etc. Both are free.

Feel free to swap recipes, tips for side effects and we love a beauty/fitness/style chat too.

Happy Friday!

I think it’ll be more expensive - add a gp consultation at the start. That said, I’m not sure that isn’t a good thing. I’ve seen so many things on here where people are trying to get the jab when they are 9stone and want to be 8 etc.

I think the nhs should be better when it comes to supporting weight loss but I knew my own gp would have told me eat less and move more. No shit Sherlock.

I think that’s the point isn’t it? Some GPs are really sympathetic for example prescribing HRT with relative ease, some don’t. I think my GP surgery would be fairly sympathetic, but obviously the NHS guideline is to send you away with a leaflet unhealthy eating or perhaps a leaflet detailing C25K…!

For those that have had diarrhoea as a side effect, do you take Imodium? Should you? Shouldn’t you? Does it make a difference? Just wanting to be prepared, just in case…

I have but I have to take it pretty regularly for IBS, so it's sort of second nature. It seems to last longer on mounjaro so I try not to take too many at once to counteract that.
I can't see any obvious reason why we shouldn't use it - it's not like food poisoning or noro where you need the bad shit (literally) to get out of our systems.

Evening, all. Had some good news on my foot - it looks like it's a plantar strain rather than something scarier like a stress fracture, so hopefully with rest and paracetamol it will be healed in 10-14 days.

For those of us in menopause and carrying some extra weight, apparently plantar issues aren't uncommon due to lack of oestrogen and extra pressure on feet. More reasons to exercise and stretch your feet/calves out, and more reasons to keep losing!

My weight is stationary again, but sitting around with my foot up probably isn't helping! Needs must, though.

My jab day moved to Monday (because I forgot last month so delayed a day) and now I’ve forgotten again. I guess jab day is now Tuesday! Interestingly I’m not ravenous. Last night was dress rehearsal and I only had 2 Pringles (not a whole tub) and 3 malteasers (I’d happily eat a whole packet previously). I feel like I’ve started eating more normally. Show week is hard to be healthy with rushing and back stage treats but we’ll see how I go.

nsv - my costume for the show has had to be taken in loads. I’ve bought a couple of bras yesterday and gone from 34GG to a 32E (I can see my feet again).

πŸ₯³ look at you missus - they’ll be calling you tiny tits next πŸ˜‚

Break a leg for the show!

It's been a while since I checked in again, but I'm at a total weight loss of 15.5kg which means I'm only 2kg from my goal weight! And I'm finally into the normal BMI category which I'm so pleased about.

I have one full 5mg pen left to use, and I'm hoping it will be my last or second last pen . Only injected 0.5ml instead of 0.6ml on Monday as I plan to taper down on the dose.

I am starting to feel a little nervous about maintaining weight, I've not counted calories throughout this journey and am wondering if I will need to be more "careful" with my diet going forward.

πŸ₯³ amazing! well done you!

Update on the fun side effects:
I had another bad night of running to the bathroom every few hours, and it's continuing today. Everything just runs straight through me... And this is now day 4 of it. I'm exhausted!

I've spoken to my fancy endocrinology professor, and he says that he recommends that I drop down from 5 mg to 2.5 mg for now. He says this is much better than trying to take additional medication to manage side effects, as that would be a "merry go round".

Hope this is useful info for fellow sufferers...

Hope you feel better soon. Thanks for sharing the tip!

How are the folks doing that invested in LED face masks?

Worth it of not?

You can take it for up to a couple of days, but if you get the side effects regularly, it's probably not a great idea.

It’s happened! Finally have my 2 stone off badge (plus an extra lb) CW 11st 10lb dead this morning. I’ve been eating well this week and exercising consistently so I’m hopeful that I might have a mini whoosh this week (which I’ll need as I’m at the England v France Rugby game this weekend so πŸ₯‚ likely)

And what a way to celebrate, I’m very jealous of your weekend plans. Pre-children I was a regular at Twickenham (which probably contributed towards my weight gain… it’s hard to just have one or two, and the food trucks on the walk to/from the stadium are always tempting) I hope you have an amazing time

Excellent so well deserved! Enjoy weekend rugby too. Mid week weigh in has me joining you in the 11s too- the detox week and extra MJ has help given the kick start I needed again

@Mounjaropen Amazing work, well done!

Invisablepanic · 05/02/2025 10:24

I went a bit overboard with food yesterday, nothing like going overboard before MJ though! I've got a horrible cold so I'm blaming that, interesting that it didn't cause any side effects, I had a ham and cheese croissant, plain croissant and a delicious biscotti delivered from cafe Nero which I ate while watching yellow jackets on the sofa. It was lovely and a definite pick me up but it was nice because it was a one off, whereas before that would have been fairly typical. I also had a nandos for tea but just a chicken burger (no sauce) and a thigh, again before MJ I would have had chips and garlic bread. So although I feel like I ate loads yesterday, it actually was better than I would typically eat before.

Well done on the amazing weight loss milestones being smashed everyone! It's such an accomplishment and doesn't happen just because of the mounjaro... you are all working so hard to achieve these goals and making huge lifestyle changes to get there. If you think back to where we started in November... it's phenomenal.

KeepCalmandGiveItaGo · 05/02/2025 16:17

Heyo, catching up again!

I don’t want to bring a downer (as lots of you are doing so well!) but is anyone else on here struggling atm?

Last month or so has been really hard as a family due to ill health and am really struggling to get going again. 3 lb gain since my last weigh, am weighing v haphazardly now as I know I’m not losing. Have lost my mojo!

Have gone up to 5mg and still no suppression. Will jab another 5 next week and see how it goes.

Anyone else in a bit of a slump? x
