Welcome to thread 6 friends old and new! Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we traverse into 2025 with new bodies and new mindsets πŸ₯°

I’m on W11D5 and on my second 5mg pen
F in her early 50’s
H 5’ 5”
SW 13st 11lb
CW 12st 2.2lb
GW 10st (maybe 9st 7lb if I don’t look too saggy!)
Total loss so far 23lbs

Recommend the Shotsy app to monitor MJ in my system and pleasing graphs to look at…plus the MeThreeSixty body scan app to monitor inch loss for the weeks where weight loss is slow but you might have lost body fat etc. Both are free.

Feel free to swap recipes, tips for side effects and we love a beauty/fitness/style chat too.

Happy Friday!

Didn't check in last week but the average weekly loss is still a steady 2.8lbs. I'm going to try for a bonus 7.5 dose next week - I have the syringes ready to go.

Well done! Fab result πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

Suppression is excellent on 5.0mg. I weighed myself again this morning now that my period is nearly over and I am 22 stone 0.7lb so hopefully down to the 21s next week!

πŸ₯³ well done!

Hey all! Happy February - was January just as long for everyone else?

I’ve hit a mini goal today - just dropped into the 13stones - 13st 13lbs and 13oz to be exact! Which brings my BMI to a round 30! Just 0.1 to go before I’m simply overweight! Whoo hoo! I have just 12lbs to go until I’m at my pre-covid weight and then a I’ll face my weight loss nemesis - breaking into the 12st! Every weight loss attempt I’ve had for the last 20 years has failed as I’ve stuck at 13st and then regained. This time I’m going to SMASH through it!

2lbs more off this week will bring me to a total of 4 stones loss (since 30/09), 3st 2lbs on MJ (since 25/10).

NSV - tried some clothes on in Matalan last night and needed to go down to mediums rather than large!

Monthly progress photos taken and waist measurement showing another 2” off - that’s 9” in total.

Motivated and ready for February!

Love the positivity in this post! Congratulations! Keep going missus! πŸ’ͺ

Why are my hips so sore 😫

Popping in from the October thread, I read somewhere that this is a thing, your hips are adjusting to carrying less weight. Can't remember exactly though, sorry!

TeenLifeMum · 01/02/2025 12:18

At the end of week 10 I’m feeling much more positive and despite the bumps in life and lack of sleep, I’ve managed to go in the right direction.

age 42, height 5’4”
sw 12st 9
cw 10st 12
gw 10st 4 (ish)

8lbs to goal weight.

I need to up my activity in February so that’s the next step… more steps.

murraymcgill · 01/02/2025 14:34

This is interesting! I often have dodgy hips since having SPD in pregnancy - I get sciatica if I don’t do enough exercise. It’s been flaring up for the last couple of weeks, and I haven’t been doing much so put it down to that, but it could be my slightly misaligned pelvis resettling. I need to do some proper stretching. @murraymcgill, with your back injury your hips may be taking some of the strain? Is your posture different?

Please could I ask who is on 10mg and how are you finding it?

I’m on 7.5mg and my next pen is 7.5mg too (ready in the fridge), my suppression has always been lower than many others based on experiences I’ve read here and elsewhere.

Given the costs of MJ and my relatively slower progress (at the moment I think I’m relying on willpower alone as the week wanes!) I think I’m going to move up to a 10mg with my next order (wibble). I have a long way to go so I need to bring in the big guns!

I started 10mg last week and I was really nauseous Sat to Tuesday, not great but I was still able to crack on. Wed/Thurs still good suppression and the Fri (yesterday) low suppression. Injected another 10 yesterday and I have been a little nauseous today but not half as bad as last weekend.

I hadn't lost anything on 7.5mg at all but dropped 2.5lbs for my first 10mg weigh in so I'm really happy with that, after having a moan on here the other other week!

lovealongbath · 01/02/2025 15:40

Does anyone have psoriasis or eczema?

My skin is looking amazing, haven’t had a flare up since starting MJ and yesterday I had a Chiropodist appointment and she commented on the improvement of my skin .

murraymcgill · 01/02/2025 15:48

@TooExtraImmatureCheddar no I do t think so, but it's mainly when i wake up then i take my concoction of painkillers it helps a bit

murraymcgill · 01/02/2025 16:04

@Invisablepanic Hi when did u start MJ I'm reading ur 7.5 wernt so good I was better on 2.5 I have 1 more 7.5 then 10mg and I'm hoping it gives me a boost

I started on the 1st Nov and have gone up every 4 weeks lost the most in the first 6 week and the just very slowly since until 10mg when the scales have finally started moving again. Medexpress are emailing about my next pen but I'm going to hold off and see how 10 goes, if I lose well at the next weigh in, I'll probably just stick with it.

murraymcgill · 01/02/2025 16:17

@IInvisablepanic I started 8th Nov lost 2st 4lbs I'm happy with that but not doing the toilet doesn't help 1 but so I'm doing my best tonight to sort that out as I weigh tomorrow I'm desperate to get below 13st I just wish i could do a bit of exercise that would help I'm using a resistance band to sort my wobbly arms

I have very dry skin and occasional eczema flare up.
When I went on holiday and went off mj for a few weeks my skin was itchy as hell. I put it down to hotel bedding.
But now you mention it my skin is a lot less flakey than it usually would be this time of year.

Oh good to know that’s for letting me know. I hope the nausea improves for you.

I will plan for some low key days when I move up to 10mg!

My eczema is better than usual & my usually incredibly dry skin is far less brittle/flaky.

Although the injection site reaction means I'm still bloody itchy 😩

KentishMama · 01/02/2025 18:02

I'm having another episode of diarrhoea. It's so weird! It's exactly the same as on shot #9, but shots 10 and 11 were totally fine. And now shot #12 is a problem again.

Make it make sense! πŸ˜‚

What did you eat yesterday? I’ve found that what I eat influences the side effects more than the dose.

I could already feel it come on yesterday, so was ultra careful with small amounts of bland food. I've not eaten anything adventurous all week, so I can't see that connection. I've literally gone through every meal in my head..

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 01/02/2025 19:43

Random NSV: I had a takeaway tonight. I always order the same thing from this place, and I used to eat it all and still feel hungry. Today I ate maybe half of it and left the rest. I enjoyed the taste but I don’t want or need to eat it all, and I’m really full on what I did eat. This drug is like witchcraft!

weekly check in

Age 47 5’3”

SW 12 stone 2
CW. 10 stone 2
GW. 9 stone? I have no idea!

week

  1. 2.5
  2. 2.5
  3. 2.5
  4. 2.9 (bonus)
  5. 5
  6. 5
  7. 5
  8. 5
  9. 5 (bonus)

That’s 16.5% loss and BMI now only a smidge over 25!! Body fat still 37% but that’s better than the 40+ it was.

Advice/ recommendations welcome on the following:

what are you doing about lose skin?

great skincare? Previously Elemis/gatineau but feeling a change is needed. Medik8?

OliviaFlaversham · 01/02/2025 22:12

I’ve got one more 7.5 injection to go as I’m going to try for the bonus dose. Do I just use the string needle to suck it out then the same needle to inject? I’m over thinking it!!!

namechangedyetagain · 02/02/2025 08:14

Weigh in day. 2.4lbs lost this week taking total to around 2 half stone. Still an obese BMI and a sz 20 but not only have people noticed I've lost weight but I'm being told not to lose too much more. Weird eh.

I've been trying to eat more this week but I do need to up my water intake.

Congratulations! Ignore the naysayers, just remember some people like to have a β€˜bigger’ friend because it makes them feel good/smug/better about themselves. You deserve to be fit and healthy, so keep going my friend πŸ’ͺ
