Mounjaropen · 17/01/2025 08:33

Welcome to thread 6 friends old and new! Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we traverse into 2025 with new bodies and new mindsets πŸ₯°

I’m on W11D5 and on my second 5mg pen
F in her early 50’s
H 5’ 5”
SW 13st 11lb
CW 12st 2.2lb
GW 10st (maybe 9st 7lb if I don’t look too saggy!)
Total loss so far 23lbs

Recommend the Shotsy app to monitor MJ in my system and pleasing graphs to look at…plus the MeThreeSixty body scan app to monitor inch loss for the weeks where weight loss is slow but you might have lost body fat etc. Both are free.

Feel free to swap recipes, tips for side effects and we love a beauty/fitness/style chat too.

Happy Friday!

@Mounjaropen I wish 🀞

Caplin · 31/01/2025 14:08

A more cheery post from me vs the last few weeks. My virus has gone, the extreme nausea has passed and I’m back at the gym.

This week I lost 2lbs, which is a far more steady and acceptable rate than the last couple of weeks when I felt like death.

My suppression is becoming more manageable. I still can’t eat much, but I am enjoying food more, and deffo feeling more capable of joining in as I reach the end of the week.

I have a dinner out tonight and I’m giving an after dinner speech, eeep!!! Wish me luck!!

My exercise level is 'fuck all' 😬 I'm walking more now the worst of the weight has shifted though - at 19st 9 I was out of breath frighteningly fast. I think it needs to shift a bit more for anything else to feel at all comfortable, but it was walking lots that helped me down to 11 stone ish before.

If I keep losing at my current rate I should hit 16 something at the end of February though and I'll keep tracking other little wins along the way there to help my brain out. I'm just under 50% body fat now and while I'm not thrilled that literally half of me was fat, that's a good change.

I am also in the β€˜fuck all’ category for exercise level 🀭

I do feel like walking and hills are a bit easier now that I’m a bit lighter than I was. It’s a vicious / virtuous cycle!

Don’t beat yourself up - I do think you have to get yourself into β€˜the zone’ . I’ve been on plenty of weight loss attempts when I just wasn’t in the right frame of mind to move more. It’ll come when you’re ready.

Walking at a steady pace is the best thing you can do to get your fitness up. No fancy equipment needed, no sports bras, Lycra etc. just increase the distance a little week on week. You’ ve got this πŸ’ͺ

Sports bras stress me out too much πŸ˜‚ The pull on ones I'm scared I'll be trapped in forever and there's too much boob pressure with the hook and eye once - I once accidentally punched myself in the jaw as I sort of ricocheted off the bra!

OMG - I also punched myself in the face putting one on πŸ˜‚

I also once tried a dress on at home from Net-A-Porter that I had drunk shopped in the height of summer. Apart from the fact that the dress made me look like an over-stuffed sofa, I couldn’t quite get it on fully. And then I couldn’t get it off. I started sweating profusely which made the fabric stick to my body even more…At one point I thought I was going to pass out and that I’d be found suffocated to death by wordle-green chiffon. All I could think was if someone finds me in faded shapewear and cuts off this poxy security tag off this hideous dress I’ll be paying £££’s for something that I would never wear whatever size I was. Even Kate Moss couldn’t have pull it off πŸ˜‚

I have been stuck in both a sports bra and various frocks I have ordered when drunk and delulu, I am an all rounder

MsRumpole · 31/01/2025 17:12

I'd just like to say that I actually slightly dislocated my already dodgy jaw putting a hook and eye bra on. Molke all the way now! (Sports bras for sport)

Just trying to catch up on the weeks news some fab losses here!

I've been trying to eat a little more this week but still not had a proper meal since Sunday. I've had soup, beans on toast that sort of thing. Which was horrible BTW, far too sweet and couldn't finish it. I have however ventured into cake this week as it was at work and it's been such a shitty week. I've also opened a gin in a tin tonight which I haven't done since starting MJ.

Have had a couple of comments that I've lost weight this week which made me feel a bit weird. Weigh in and bonus dose on Sunday then last month on 5mg I think. I probably need to move to 7.5 after that.

Goldleafcat · 31/01/2025 17:51

I have recently purchased a couple of sports bras in a moment of β€˜yes I will most certainly be doing something sporty very soon’ but have yet to try them on. M&S ones where I’ve literally guesstimated the size. I will now proceed with caution when I try them on! (And have ibuprofen / ice on hand!)

Loss so far = 26lb…..

10 weekly update……it’s a maintain for me this week, which I’m very happy about as I have been away for the last 4 nights and although I was making good choices, apart from desserts, I did eat different to how I do now at home and I did have some drinks, but that’s normal life and that’s ok.

Haven't read back yet to catch up but will do over weekend…..good luck everyone x

Why are my hips so sore 😫

WellyBootsandPuddleSuits · 01/02/2025 08:44

I am officially no longer obese πŸ₯³ as of today, my BMI is 29.7, I have lost 20% of my starting weight, and I have 3lbs to go until I’ve lost a total of 50 (which I can’t quite believe!!) Today is a good day.

Now to make sure I don’t undo all my hard work - this time of year tends to be pub heavy (rugby) so while I want to enjoy myself, I need to keep my head in the game and not sink half a dozen pints mindlessly…

mustwashmycurtains · 01/02/2025 08:53

Mounjaropen · 31/01/2025 07:30

Anything else going on maybe? Hormones? Are you drinking enough water? Sorry you feel rubbish.

yes potentially. i've realised i also slightly reduced my anti depressants (doctor aware and advised) but didn't think it would affect me (very low dose to tiny dose, mostly taken for peri-related anxiety) that was a few weeks ago and no effect but realistically - of course that has taken 2 weeks to kick in. I forgot that could be an issue.
Am also incredibly busy at work so i'm sure I'm not drinking enough water.

And now I'm not sure what to do with my next jab - do i take the 10mg again and ride out the fact it's probably the other pills leaving my system, or do i reduce the dose and dip back down to 7.5? Another horrendous work week approaching so I suspect will go with the 7.5 - i can handle no weight loss more easily than feeling tired and sick.

Alternate pints with sparkling water?

Do you inject in your thighs? Might be worth switching up to your stomach if you do?

If I had my time again, I’d have started HRT a few years before I actually started taking it. part of my symptoms were feelings of being overwhelmed and hopelessness when I was never normally an anxious person. Does that sound familiar? I think looking at the whole endocrine system as a whole, you might want to explore balancing your reproductive hormones at the same time as your appetite ones. Nothing wrong with Anti Depressants but it was the standard issue ten years ago rather than exploring if HRT was more appropriate. Maybe chat to your GP?
If 7.5mg works without issue, I’d have a look at taking that instead? Or splitting your dose across the week?

Hey all! Happy February - was January just as long for everyone else?

I’ve hit a mini goal today - just dropped into the 13stones - 13st 13lbs and 13oz to be exact! Which brings my BMI to a round 30! Just 0.1 to go before I’m simply overweight! Whoo hoo! I have just 12lbs to go until I’m at my pre-covid weight and then a I’ll face my weight loss nemesis - breaking into the 12st! Every weight loss attempt I’ve had for the last 20 years has failed as I’ve stuck at 13st and then regained. This time I’m going to SMASH through it!

2lbs more off this week will bring me to a total of 4 stones loss (since 30/09), 3st 2lbs on MJ (since 25/10).

NSV - tried some clothes on in Matalan last night and needed to go down to mediums rather than large!

Monthly progress photos taken and waist measurement showing another 2” off - that’s 9” in total.

Motivated and ready for February!

MsRumpole · 01/02/2025 10:45

Suppression is excellent on 5.0mg. I weighed myself again this morning now that my period is nearly over and I am 22 stone 0.7lb so hopefully down to the 21s next week!

BlueWalker · 01/02/2025 11:10

W12 D1
SW 16st 4lbs
CW 14st 1lbs
GW 10st (ish)
Dose: 7.5mg
Total loss so far: 2st (yay!) 3lbs
Didn't check in last week but the average weekly loss is still a steady 2.8lbs. I'm going to try for a bonus 7.5 dose next week - I have the syringes ready to go.
