November β€˜24 starters thread 6 - The one where it’s still January but we keep losing πŸ’ͺ🏻

Mounjaropen · 17/01/2025 08:33

Welcome to thread 6 friends old and new! Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we traverse into 2025 with new bodies and new mindsets πŸ₯°

I’m on W11D5 and on my second 5mg pen
F in her early 50’s
H 5’ 5”
SW 13st 11lb
CW 12st 2.2lb
GW 10st (maybe 9st 7lb if I don’t look too saggy!)
Total loss so far 23lbs

Recommend the Shotsy app to monitor MJ in my system and pleasing graphs to look at…plus the MeThreeSixty body scan app to monitor inch loss for the weeks where weight loss is slow but you might have lost body fat etc. Both are free.

Feel free to swap recipes, tips for side effects and we love a beauty/fitness/style chat too.

Happy Friday!

fantastic news @lovealongbath

I have stopped daily weighing in the last couple of weeks and the religious calorie counting has stopped and I’ve moved to living but just being more mindful. Today I felt the urge to weigh (after a satisfying morning poop πŸ˜‚) and the scales started with a 10! 10st 13. While I’m still overweight, I’m so so happy that I’ve had losses without the obsessive tracking and it taking over my thoughts.

Next step is to be more active. I have weights which I want to do at home regularly and now the pup can go out for walks we will start more family walks (likely end up carrying pup but still).

overall, work and home life has been much better this week. Dh had an interview for a job he really wants yesterday so keeping everything crossed for him. He’s awesome at his job and is the kindest person, he really deserves to be happy.

Yay, @TeenLifeMum! Excellent scale victory, and fingers crossed for your DH!

Just taken shot number 12. I’ve lost 2lbs in 2 weeks over the last fortnight so hoping for a post period whoosh once AF fucks off again.

Happy Pube Day @lovealongbath πŸ₯³ Thrilled for you and your bush!

This is technically yesterday's weight as I was out to eat last night and I knew that would throw this morning 's off.

I've been struggling with my head a bit this week. Getting out of the 19s was big because it undid the most recent damage. 18s were similar as that was my previous Worst Weight Ever during covid. This current stone though I have lost so often over the last few years. Last time I was committed and trying hard I got to 17st on the nose and then it all went to shit again. I desperately want to be in the 16s now as it'll feel like a new era - I think it's at least 5 years since I was that 'light'.

Dreamqueen · 31/01/2025 11:14

@Mounjaropen I can't reply to your post on the app. That's what I'm going to do.
Reading all the great posts on here is keeping me focused on the end goal.

Congrats on the 10's! Awesome job.

Obviously we require an updated Puppy pic :-)

Please could I ask who is on 10mg and how are you finding it?

I’m on 7.5mg and my next pen is 7.5mg too (ready in the fridge), my suppression has always been lower than many others based on experiences I’ve read here and elsewhere.

Given the costs of MJ and my relatively slower progress (at the moment I think I’m relying on willpower alone as the week wanes!) I think I’m going to move up to a 10mg with my next order (wibble). I have a long way to go so I need to bring in the big guns!

Bilbette · 31/01/2025 11:58

congrats on all the amazing losses and goals met

I’ve just injected my first dose of 10mg so we’ll see how that goes,
I’m a steady loser, now it has settled down I’m losing an average of 2lb a week, but with still at least 10stone to lose it seems an almost impossible task.
I’m determined to do it though!

Let me know how you get on! Good luck. Fantastic to hear of your determination.

I have at least 4 stone left to lose (ideally 5 to get me into a better place re: BMI). I’ve lost more than 5 from my heaviest time.

We can do it πŸ’ͺ

They only happen once or twice a week max. It’s not consistent πŸ˜‚

Well done! How is your exercise level? - 2 stone off will make an enormous difference to your ability to become more active which in turn will make the difference in keeping it off as you move forward.

I think mindset change is the hardest part. I've had years of eating what I fancied dinking what I fancied and not moving enough because I put everyone else first - work, family, the bloody dog and it is a form of self-abuse really. My mindset is that I deserve to put my health and wellbeing front and centre from now on. I've booked a massage/facial for next week, ordered myself a fancy Pvolve exercise mat and I am currently looking at 'Morpheus8' treatments for when I am at or near to my goal weight.

Work Wendy is under immense pressure as she’s lost half her team (resignations) and I offered to help where I can but she’ll never allow me to in case I show her up (do it faster/show anyone can do her job… I did it for 8 years so totally capable). oh well, she can just struggle while I log off at 5pm each day πŸ˜‚

Puppy pic incoming (someone got bored while I was on work calls).

Keep going! Slow and steady is the best - and you'll avoid a ton of loose skin. I know it seems a long way off, but this time next year you'll be where you want to be. We're all here to cheer you along!

We can

i’m 5lbs off 3 stone lost but all the big losses were in the first few weeks.

I’ve not really had any side effects except when I’ve consciously made a bad food choice and taken a risk a couple of times.

I remember reading the β€˜what have you eaten today’ thread when I first started and thinking these people are taking the piss, surely they don’t expect anyone to believe they have only eaten that, now I totally get it

Being on mj has totally changed my outlook on food and I love it

Glad work Wendy is on the ropes. Sadly you've lost too much weight to give her a proper right hook but I expect she'll knock herself out - people like that always do.

My exercise level is 'fuck all' 😬 I'm walking more now the worst of the weight has shifted though - at 19st 9 I was out of breath frighteningly fast. I think it needs to shift a bit more for anything else to feel at all comfortable, but it was walking lots that helped me down to 11 stone ish before.

If I keep losing at my current rate I should hit 16 something at the end of February though and I'll keep tracking other little wins along the way there to help my brain out. I'm just under 50% body fat now and while I'm not thrilled that literally half of me was fat, that's a good change.

jay55 · 31/01/2025 13:12

@lovealongbath that's the best non scale win so far Flowers congrats.

I'm at the constipated end of the week. But suppression lifted enough to eat a reasonable lunch today. So maybe it'll all shuffle along.

Woohooo for surviving January all.

3rd jag of 7.5 this morning can anyone explain what a whoosh is because I definitely haven't had it?

A whoosh is a sudden 4/5lbs off in a week when you were expecting maybe 2. That’s my definition anyway πŸ˜‰

Walking at a steady pace is the best thing you can do to get your fitness up. No fancy equipment needed, no sports bras, Lycra etc. just increase the distance a little week on week. You’ ve got this πŸ’ͺ
