November β€˜24 starters thread 6 - The one where it’s still January but we keep losing πŸ’ͺ🏻

Welcome to thread 6 friends old and new! Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we traverse into 2025 with new bodies and new mindsets πŸ₯°

I’m on W11D5 and on my second 5mg pen
F in her early 50’s
H 5’ 5”
SW 13st 11lb
CW 12st 2.2lb
GW 10st (maybe 9st 7lb if I don’t look too saggy!)
Total loss so far 23lbs

Recommend the Shotsy app to monitor MJ in my system and pleasing graphs to look at…plus the MeThreeSixty body scan app to monitor inch loss for the weeks where weight loss is slow but you might have lost body fat etc. Both are free.

Feel free to swap recipes, tips for side effects and we love a beauty/fitness/style chat too.

Happy Friday!

Weigh in tomorrow another week of bleeding pretty bad so I'm not expecting much of a loss πŸ™ƒ

ShaunaSadeki · 25/01/2025 17:34

I’m aiming for a BMI of a bit under 24 anything below that and I look v scrawny on my top half yet still have massive legs and hips. I’m 5ft 7 and it is about 68kilos I think. I got to 64 last time but you could see my rib cage between where my boobs used to be despite still being quite near the top end of healthy. I am literally big boned 😏

Coffeeandcinnamonbun · 25/01/2025 19:53

I can’t quite accept how little my shape has changed despite losing 10% of my weight. It feels like there’s a long way to go.

Have you taken any photos @Coffeeandcinnamonbun? I didn't think I'd changed at all, esp in the first month, but when I compared the original Photo Of Doom, one month and two months, I could see the first subtle changes.
It's not enough of a change yet that anyone else is going to notice it but at least for now they're useful to see that it is nudging in the right direction. And one day I can look back and think wow look how far I've come.

Goldleafcat · 25/01/2025 20:57

I’m aiming for 11 stone, which is almost bang on 25 BMI. If I get there it’ll be a miracle really, not been there since I was 18. At 10 stone I was really quite slim for my build, ideally I would be closer to that but not sure it is realistic. Broad shoulders, weirdly broad rib cage (bra buying is a nightmare), broad hips etc. Big skeleton?! I got to 12 stone 7 for my 40th birthday and it was lovely, but could definitely still lose more from that so 11 would be awesome. I’m still knocking around 15 stone so some work to be done 🫣

I have an enormous rib cage, even more so since having a 10lb baby, and my hips are a size 12 even without flesh

phyllidafosset · 25/01/2025 21:08

Have the burning indigestion tonight and the vomit burps πŸ˜’ I had less indigestion for the first two 5mg jabs, but I think that it is when I start to eat that everything starts to burn. I can’t decide if eating something will make it better or worse. The Rennies haven’t touched it. But I am so close to tipping into that 10st bracket, so sometimes going well 😁 Almost half way to goal weight.

SerenePeer · 25/01/2025 21:58

Hey everyone, hope you're all having a calm weekend after the storms!

Having a hungry day today. Still have suppression though as I couldn't finish my dinner of soup & toastie. But today has definitely been a day of seeing food and wanting to eat it. Need to up my protein i think.

OliviaFlaversham · 25/01/2025 22:28

The scales didn’t go down as much this week as have in others but possibly because my period came two weeks early. BMI has gone down by 9 now though since starting so that is really great. Still so much to go!

Oceangrey · 25/01/2025 23:45

Jab day today:
SW 13st 3lb
CW 12st 2lb
GW 10st something

Just realised my bra size has actually got smaller. Still basically filling out a J cup but the 34 backs are too big so they aren't providing enough support and are pushing quite painfully down on my ribcage. Those things are HEAVY. But the couple of 34Hs I still held on to are a tiny bit small. So I reckon I need at least one new (expensive) bra now rather than waiting. Maybe 34HH? Tricky to know!

Do you have a next account?

I ordered a selection of varying sizes from next and returned the unsuitable ones, advantage being you only pay for the items you keep.

Surely you need to go down on the back size rather than keep it the same-that’s the bit you say is too big

I just got a few sugar candy bras and I’m so impressed by them. I’m a 32/34 HH depending on brand and the sugar candy are so supportive without underwires!

obviously expensive - I hate the money outlay being huge creates!

Definitely recommend snag - so soft and squidgy but with a decent amount of support

MsRumpole · 26/01/2025 08:07

I love Molke bras. I'm a 38J or something and would never have thought that I could manage a non-underwired bra but they are fantastic (and there are all sorts of exciting fabrics as well as plain colours).

Isn't that how all online shopping works?

You'd think so wouldn't you, but in practice I find that's not what happens. Also they stretch so after 6 months a new one will be tighter anyway.

Thanks for the bra recommendations. I've tried basically all bras and know what I like and what works for my shape (bravissimo Millie and Niya), so I'll just keep getting those!

NO it’s not how online shopping works with Next, not for me anyway.

I can order Β£5000 worth of items without payment and return it all for Β£2.

With respects to bras, I have had 12 bras delivered in varying sizes from 3 different manufacturers, returned 11 bras and kept 1 so I only pay Β£36 for the bra I kept.

If I purchased these bras from Bravissimo, I would have had to pay Β£384 up front then wait for money to be refunded.

namechangedyetagain · 26/01/2025 09:04

Weigh in and jab today. A disappointing 1.3lb down. I think after my next pen I'm going to have to move up to the 7.5mg dose. 15kg down in total since the beginning of November though I'm still firmly in the obese BMI category.

I tried beans on toast for my dinner last night. Ate most of it. Had also snacked on a glass of wine and crisps as met up with my friend. Wine was a real struggle. Just didn't enjoy it at all. Most unlike me.

Thank you for all your responses. I am keeping an eye on my depression as have a few work things going on too which isn't helping. The food control thing and the guilty feeling when eating anything is completely new for me though. Lunches especially I need to find something filling and warm. I'm just really very down on myself.

Oh I see, didn't quite understand that you don't have to pay at all and get a refund, thanks for explaining.

For the second week in a row, I've woken up in the middle of the night feeling uncontrollably sick, 36- 48hours after jabbing. I have spent the last 5 hours rushing to the loo just like last Sunday. Obviously it's better that this happens on the weekend, but I feel dreadful. I was just wondering if anyone else has this and has identified the triggers? I'm wondering if it was in part constipation as I've dropped 4 pounds over night, but surely that can't be the only reason i'm throwing up?

Panache Envy are my go- to bras. Good shape and you can often buy them for under Β£30 on sale with an online shop somewhere which is a β€˜bargain’ for those of us at the upper end of the Bra Alphabet!

Poor you! I’d keep a food diary on MFP or similar and make a note of the times you are eating - are they different to weekday meal times? I eat significantly more at the weekend.

There's a very good podcast on Zoe, a very recent one, with Giles Yeo, who is an obesity expert, which I really recommend as he explains that gaining weight is easy and losing weight is hard because of biological processes that we can't consciously control. It's because of listening to people like him that I don't have any guilt about using medication to control my weight.
