Welcome to thread 6 friends old and new! Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we traverse into 2025 with new bodies and new mindsets πŸ₯°

I’m on W11D5 and on my second 5mg pen
F in her early 50’s
H 5’ 5”
SW 13st 11lb
CW 12st 2.2lb
GW 10st (maybe 9st 7lb if I don’t look too saggy!)
Total loss so far 23lbs

Recommend the Shotsy app to monitor MJ in my system and pleasing graphs to look at…plus the MeThreeSixty body scan app to monitor inch loss for the weeks where weight loss is slow but you might have lost body fat etc. Both are free.

Feel free to swap recipes, tips for side effects and we love a beauty/fitness/style chat too.

Happy Friday!

@lostinchaos I’m with you on this. Motivation has waned and losses slow/ non existent but I’m not gaining so that’s a positive clutches at straws
I’m 11st and target is 10 (not being overweight is 10st 5). Currently feels unlikely I’ll ever get there. I’m not enjoying the healthy meals I was enjoying and have gone off eggs so struggling with satisfying lunches.

KentishMama · 25/01/2025 10:31

800g loss this week. BMI 27. In total, I've lost over 17 kg since last summer and over 12 kg on Mounjaro.

You will get there. It’s taken me years to pile on this amount of weight. I’ve lost half of it in 3 months…just remember it’s a marathon not a sprint. You’ ve got this πŸ’ͺ

I’ve not taken long to gain to be honest. About 6 months of 2022/23 did the damage and I was too emotionally broken to recover. Only now have I felt mentally strong enough. I hate that bullies at work affected me so much. But I can’t control them so I just have to hold my head up. Just need to recognise myself again 😭

Ooooh! I've always wanted to be a twin.

Okay, so, random question, what size clothing do you wear at the moment? I feel like I'm a total mix of sizes and have no idea what to order from my usual stores...
Recently bought tops ranging from M to XL/14-16 mostly. Bottoms mostly L or 16 or 32 in Levi's...

So I’m 5’5.5” with massive norks. Tops are 14-16 and trousers are 14. My cream knit dress last week was an M but I’m an XL in jackets from Zara if I want to do them up. Reckon I’ll be a L shortly. Trousers are definitely too big from there is an XL. I’m still a 34 in bras but they’re on the tightest hooks now. I was a 32H at 10st but have been wearing a 34K/L for the past 7/8 years.

You poor thing. I had a similar experience caring for elderly parents and dealing with a thieving sibling..had PTSD by the end of it. Be kind to yourself, it’ll disappear with all the effort you are putting in πŸ’

Aw @Mounjaropen and @murraymcgill you are so close to each other right now!

@TeenLifeMum sorry to hear you had a bad time with work bullies. It's awful that these situations still happen as adults. I hope that you are in a better place now.

It's a beautiful sunny day here now the storm has passed. It feels like spring is on its way and I feel lighter and more hopeful. And it's a good feeling to know that this spring I will be slimmer and healthier.

In 3 pens (my new measuring system!) I could be a stone lighter πŸŽ‰

Whattodowithaminute · 25/01/2025 11:54

Realised I’m 30lbs down, funny how suddenly a new milestone keeps you going! Only a couple of lbs off of the 11s, 3 weeks until holiday. Staying on 5 mg but think I might start to take a bit extra-?6mg to titrate up as finally side effects diminished but appetite growing again.

The BMI chat has for me wondering if we have target BMIs in mind? I'd originally thought 25 to hit the 'healthy' band but have now set 24 as my goal. I'm in my 50s and worried about saggy skin and looking gaunt. My main aim really is to look better in clothes but also to be fitter and stronger. Reading through other posts it seems lots of people are going much lower down and it's made me wonder if I should be aiming for a lower BMI?

murraymcgill · 25/01/2025 12:43

@Mounjaropen love it there in the summer that is πŸ˜†

I'm aiming for around 11 stone, which would be a BMI of around 24 at 5'7". Below that is getting into my Skinny Weight from my late teens/ early 20s and I'm not naive enough to think that's a realistic goal as a peri 40 something!
It's quite a way off though, so I'm expecting to reassess a few times along the way.

lostinchaos · 25/01/2025 13:15

I'm not really focused on bmi tbh, and am instead aiming for a weight that puts me comfortably into the healthy bracket for my height, so that even if I gain a few pounds on holiday for example, I'm still considered healthy. I'm hoping for a weight that I feel is manageable rather than my super skinny 20s weight, and my guess is my clothes size will be a large size 10/ small size 12.

I'm quite happy at a BMI of 25, my happy weight hovers around that and puts me in a comfortable size 10 or small in most shops. I would love to be more like 23 but it's always just been too hard to maintain.

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 25/01/2025 16:00

I’m aiming for 9 stone, which is around BMI 23 at 5’2”. It still seems a really long way away and not necessarily achievable! I’m stuck at 11 stone 1ish - last time I lost weight I stuck here too. I think it must be a set weight for me so I’m trying not to get too worried by it.

BeNavyScroller · 25/01/2025 16:02

Is anyone else absolutely freezing most of the time?

I just can’t seem to warm up after getting cold so after a walk with the kids earlier my ears still hurt!

PandasMum · 25/01/2025 17:07

I’m aiming for BMI below 30 perhaps if I achieve that I’d reassess but I’d just be delighted with that
