November β€˜24 starters thread 6 - The one where it’s still January but we keep losing πŸ’ͺ🏻

Welcome to thread 6 friends old and new! Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we traverse into 2025 with new bodies and new mindsets πŸ₯°

I’m on W11D5 and on my second 5mg pen
F in her early 50’s
H 5’ 5”
SW 13st 11lb
CW 12st 2.2lb
GW 10st (maybe 9st 7lb if I don’t look too saggy!)
Total loss so far 23lbs

Recommend the Shotsy app to monitor MJ in my system and pleasing graphs to look at…plus the MeThreeSixty body scan app to monitor inch loss for the weeks where weight loss is slow but you might have lost body fat etc. Both are free.

Feel free to swap recipes, tips for side effects and we love a beauty/fitness/style chat too.

Happy Friday!

Hi all, great to read the advice and losses from everyone.
Jab 10 this week and 11lbs down (had a week break at Christmas as we went skiing) 1 stone, 4lbs to target. First 5mg dose this Tuesday and I as sooo sick! Haven't been able to go into work... constant diarrhoea and sickness for 2 days (and nights) and the most awful burps!! I did 4 weeks on 2.5 and 5 weeks on 3.75mg with little to no side affects. Any advice welcome... I've taken Imodium tonight and peppermint tea. Thinking of going back to 3.75 next week as I'm happy to lose slowly and still have a life (lots of 40th birthdays coming up!) could it be the week break I had?

I have eaten too much today and feel uncomfortably full and very yucky. Lesson learnt

Facial booked for Saturday morning, skin boosters and micro needling. I feel like I’m seeing the benefits from the polynucleotide facial. Definitely feel like it looks better.

weight down to 10stone 4 which is nearing 2 stone loss

Amazing! Congratulations!

I felt rubbish on the first dose of 5mg but nothing like you describe. I’d consider going back to 3.75mg if you’ve ruled out a bug being the cause.

Asda only notify your gp if you give permission. They ask each time you order though. I always say no because my gp is a village one and he can be a bit old school. I just can’t face the conversation.

I don’t know if Asda actually do - they ask permission to share with the GP but then add a letter in the account for your GP & put β€˜we recommend you share this’…. do you know for sure that they actually have? I’ve been meaning to let my GP know but haven’t got round to it.

a week break and then a dose increase would probably be quite a shock for your body - I would probably have another of the same dose & it’ll prob be ok now but it depends if you feel able to face it

@TeenLifeMum what a cutie, puppies are the only thing that make me broody nowadays.

I have had little drop on the scales today after staying the same all week, so will take that as been exercising.

it is supposed to be my day off today but I have something really important to get done so logging in, which has scuppered my plans for a couple of classes and a swim. It is a bit stormy to go for my pre work walk or jog either. So logging in now and will either go for a swim at lunchtime or a jog and I have body pump at 5.30pm. The extra work is my own fault, so I can’t even feel righteously indignant, I have been procrastinating and dealing with issues with teen DD instead of finishing my project and it has finally come back to bite me.

MsRumpole · 24/01/2025 08:10

Weigh-in day! 5mg is really working for me. Got back to my pre-Xmas lowest last Friday and have lost 5lb this week πŸ₯³

SW: 23 stone 10.9
CW: 22 stone 3.4
GW: for the moment anything beginning with 19

Invisablepanic · 24/01/2025 08:21

Weigh in today, up an lb but I'm a bit constipated so I think it's more just I'm the same weight as last week. This means I've finished 7.5 without losing anything despite having good suppression. I've got a 10mg pen to start today, if I don't see any drop in the next couple of weeks I think I'm going to start winding down. I have lost weight (around 20lbs) which is amazing but I think I lost the majority of that in the first 7/8weeks and not much since.

jaromoun · 24/01/2025 09:09

77's today (just!). burns night supper may scupper that but can't remember the last time i weighed this.
bmi 26.7 as well which does not feel a million miles from 'normal'.
i do need to think about building muscle though. i hate the gym - in fact other than walking i don't like much exercise! 11.2kg down so i will have definitely lost muscle as well.

Goldleafcat · 24/01/2025 10:15

Well done everyone on your losses or maintenance! You are doing so well. πŸŽ‰

I am about the same as I was last week. I am just over 1lb heavier on my new scales versus my old ones (not hugely different in the end, after trying a few different bathroom floor locations!). Will be tracking weight on the new scales going forward.

Put on 1.5lbs since yesterday morning somehow, despite doing lots of walking and not eating loads. Bit disappointing really, like some of you I am envious of some of the epic losses that have been had. So far I’ve lost 21lbs and still have a LONG way to go to get to a BMI of 25 (was BMI 33.7 yesterday but now back up to 34 πŸ˜•). Period is allegedly due (post MJ it turns up whenever πŸ˜‚) so it could be related. Feeling a bit deflated. Next jab due Sunday - 7.5mg again. Mulling over whether to start to bring my jab day back again (used to be a Monday, then moved to Thursday over Christmas, then due to not being home it became a Sunday!).

Which days do you find best for jabbing?

Period is a pain , isn't it? I jab on a Friday as I'll forget over the weekend.

I jab on a Monday. Allows me to enjoy the weekend but gives me great suppression during the week when I exercise consistently so I think that helps with the results. My average loss has been 2.4lb pw since starting.

A lot of PT’s swear by an incline brisk and consistent walk in a treadmill. It doesn’t have to be running to get results. Add in a quick weights session in the major muscle groups and you could be done in under an hour πŸ’ͺ

Have you tried varying things such as a tight eating window? Maybe your body needs to be tricked into thinking no food is coming… up the protein content so there is less carb fuel for it to squirrel away.

I’m a procrastinator too. I work best under pressure so I subconsciously add it in when I have none. Silly really but I know exactly how you feel. Hope your DD is ok πŸ’

Weighing in and I've passed the two stone barrier this week πŸ₯³

W11D7
SW: 19st 9lbs
CW:17st 8lbs
1st GW: 17st 13lbs
2nd GW 15st 4lbs
TL: 2st 1lb

I was a pound lighter mid week so that's a reminder to actually stick to my pledge only to weigh once a week - I'd be happier with two pounds off if I hadn't seen that potential three pounds!

NSV I've noticed is that my cellulite is vastly reduced. That's not just that I'm lighter, as it was pretty extensive at this weight on the way up.
