Welcome to thread 6 friends old and new! Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we traverse into 2025 with new bodies and new mindsets πŸ₯°

I’m on W11D5 and on my second 5mg pen
F in her early 50’s
H 5’ 5”
SW 13st 11lb
CW 12st 2.2lb
GW 10st (maybe 9st 7lb if I don’t look too saggy!)
Total loss so far 23lbs

Recommend the Shotsy app to monitor MJ in my system and pleasing graphs to look at…plus the MeThreeSixty body scan app to monitor inch loss for the weeks where weight loss is slow but you might have lost body fat etc. Both are free.

Feel free to swap recipes, tips for side effects and we love a beauty/fitness/style chat too.

Happy Friday!

Weighing in and I've passed the two stone barrier this week πŸ₯³

W11D7
SW: 19st 9lbs
CW:17st 8lbs
1st GW: 17st 13lbs
2nd GW 15st 4lbs
TL: 2st 1lb

I was a pound lighter mid week so that's a reminder to actually stick to my pledge only to weigh once a week - I'd be happier with two pounds off if I hadn't seen that potential three pounds!

NSV I've noticed is that my cellulite is vastly reduced. That's not just that I'm lighter, as it was pretty extensive at this weight on the way up.

πŸ₯³πŸ₯³πŸ₯³πŸ₯³ congratulations! Amazing result πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

Way to go on the losses.

A cornetto is a pretty good snack, easier to count the calories than a bowl of ice cream. Big enough to feel properly satisfying.

murraymcgill · 24/01/2025 12:57

@jay55 it was brilliant at 11.30 last night πŸ˜†

Thank you! This next stone is going to be key as I've yo-yoed up and down the 17s for about the last 5 years. Today's weight was my pre covid weight (measured when I thought lockdown would be a good time to lose weight!), I got down to 17st 0 on the nose at one point and then obviously higher in the last year. Hitting 16st 13.9999 - hopefully next month - will be a proper step over the line.

Cantbesure · 24/01/2025 14:29

Took dose 3 of 5mg yesterday morning and my suppression is very high. I'm feeling like I've had a 3 course meal and I've had a cup a soup and a small slice of sourdough in an effort to eat something! Not felt like this in a while.

I hope everyone is staying safe in these storms.

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 24/01/2025 15:26

Well done @PinkArt! Love the NSV too.

I’m supposed to jab today but as I missed a couple of days last time due to being away, I jabbed late on Sun evening last week. So I was wondering about doing it when I get up tomorrow instead, and then going back to Friday the week after. Jabbing after only 5 days seems a bit close together. I’ve also only lost 0.4lbs this week so maybe with one more day I might get a tiny bit more by tomorrow morning. My period’s just started which explains both the low loss and the rage I had on Wed night, ahem. Am also stuck at 11.1.6 - so close to the next stone bracket!

evilharpy · 24/01/2025 16:23

@PinkArt unreal, what a result! and bye bye cellulite Grin

I'm 0.8lbs from hitting 2 st loss, Sunday is my jab day so I'd love to get the milestone over the weekend. That's over 9 weeks so not as fast as lots of people but I'm more than happy with that. Waistbands are becoming possible again, which is nice.

PinkArt · 24/01/2025 17:49

It's only a quarter of what I need to get back to a healthy BMI @evilharpy, but it's a great milestone. It means getting half way there now feels equally achievable and back in October that didn't feel remotely possible.
The cellulite thing is fascinating. It's still there, it's not vanished, but it's decreased sooo much in just twoish months. I've had some since I was a slim 8 or 9 year old so the idea that mounjaro might help with that on top of everything else is kinda mind blowing.

ShaunaSadeki · 24/01/2025 19:33

I just had the opposite of a NSV, a NSL? Thought I was going to black out at Body Pump! It was really touch and go for a minute. I did do a spin class earlier today but I haven’t been starving myself and don’t usually get blood sugar dips, but I guess this is what it is.

namechangedyetagain · 24/01/2025 19:50

Not posted much this week nor have I weighed myself.
I think I'm developing a bit of a problem in that I'm becoming I think overly obsessed with food and hating myself. I don't know what is good to eat and so sometimes I just don't bother. I mainly eat in a day a banana, a sachet of porridge and maybe something for dinner (eg small baked potato ). Sometimes I just have a milkshake for dinner. I had a chocolate biscuit at lunchtime at I'd forgotten my banana and I've hated myself for it. Just had 1 piece of bread with some bacon for dinner as couldn't be bothered and didn't know what I fancied.

If I have anything treat wise I will feel like I've failed. Like a glass of wine. I had one over Christmas and then hated myself for it.

I still don't like the way I look, though I can see I'm slightly less fat in some things, I'm still huge.

I feel I'm in a bit of a muddle. Sorry for the long post.

I didn’t want to read your post and run. You need to take care of yourself nutritionally- you can’t hate yourself for slip ups but equally you can’t exist on eating nutritionally invalid food and expect to maintain your losses post Mounjaro. You know this. Are you a meat eater or vegetarian? Let us know and we can give you menu ideas to help you. You are amongst non judgmental friends here and if you think you are in a disordered eating pattern, we’re here to help you ❀️

@namechangedyetagain I am so sorry that you are feeling like this, I am sure others will be able to advise.

But if I was you I would focus on eating nourishing healthy food until you are full, at least 3 times a day.

what sort of things do you like usually?
how long ago did you last jab?

Body pump and spin on the same day is a lot. Have you eaten enough protein to fuel yourself?

I last jabbed on Sunday. I'm not veggie. I like pretty much anything. Before I'd eat things with rice or pasta like sweet and sour chicken, bolognese etc. Stir fry, roast with lots of veg. Too many carbs!

I'm quite exhausted and depressed if I'm honest (on medication) so sometimes it's easier not to bother cooking / eating. And now I really just don't fancy food much at all.

Take care of yourself. A known side effect of taking MJ is depression.- this might be further complicated if you are already on meds. Can you speak to your GP?

Arglefraster · 24/01/2025 20:53

@namechangedyetagain your posts are really worrying to read πŸ’
I'm so sorry you're feeling lousy I think mountjaropen is right & you need a GP or other professional to help you understand if the MJ is compounding your already existing depression. In the mean time I would consider delaying or at minimum reducing your dose as you really need to be able to face eating sufficient nutritious food to fuel your body.

ShaunaSadeki · 24/01/2025 20:59

I agree, speak to your GP and over the weekend make yourself eat properly, healthy yet comforting food.

something eggy if you can for breakfast, or just toast

soup for lunch or beans on toast?

a nice β€œnormal” dinner at a portion you can manage.

is your suppression high or is it your brain not letting you eat?

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 24/01/2025 21:10

@namechangedyetagain, oh sweetheart, don’t beat yourself up! This sounds like you’re trying so hard that you’re freezing with fear. It’s ok to eat on Mounjaro. There’s nothing wrong with eating bolognese, pasta or a roast dinner. Frankly if you’re eating only a banana and a sachet of porridge for the rest of the day you could absolutely eat a plate of any of those for dinner and still not be over-eating. I have roast dinners most weeks, just a smaller portion than I used to have, and usually with more veg and less roast potato (but I still have a couple of potatoes). You honestly might be feeling so low because you’re not allowing yourself to eat. Just because you’re not really feeling the hunger doesn’t mean your body doesn’t need fuel. Try to let yourself have a bit more proper food and see if it helps your mental state. And keep posting here if it helps - we can reassure you that if you eat three meals a day you won’t go right back to square one, because you won’t, I promise you!

PinkArt · 24/01/2025 22:51

@namechangedyetagain is that a familiar pattern for you or is it a new thing since you've been on mounjaro?
I can absolutely see how it would be as easy to pick up bad new thought patterns and behaviors on the jabs as good ones. I've been a bit gutted at 'only' losing two pounds some weeks, even though it's double what I'd ever lose without it and much more would be unhealthy. Not to mention that it will have taken a fair bit of disordered thinking around food to get us all to our starting points on this journey.
Be kind to yourself. A biscuit or a glass of wine isn't remotely failure. They're both things that should fit nicely in moderation, into new healthier lifestyles for us all.

Is anyone else getting a weird / horrible taste in their mouth?

Cantbesure · 25/01/2025 00:16

@namechangedyetagain sorry to hear you are struggling. Please try and remember it's just food and drink. There is no moral value attached to it. Eating a particular food doesn't make you bad in any way. I don't know if you log what you eat on MFP or similar, or if that would help?

BagQueenBee · 25/01/2025 00:26

Weekly update W9D7….1lb loss this week, so I’m 2lb off my 2 stone (thought it was bit less but miscounted).

Did my 5th dose again today via syringe which I prefer, no problem, I’m staying on 5mg as it is working well for me.

NSV = my new boots fit me as my feet no longer swollen, I feel so much more energetic and no breathlessness on walking, my clothes feel bit looser…..just so pleased.

Hope everyone is doing ok and is keeping safe in this weather, take care x

Hi I know that feeling of just not knowing what to have. I think eating normal food is ok, I had 2 crumpets for lunch and then bolognaise with wholemeal pasta tonight, just not as much as I used to eat.

I agree maybe talk to your GP about how your feeling, I am sure you will get back on track, I pretty much like anything to it’s just about organising and meal planning…. Easier said than done I know… take care x

Yes sometimes. I have developed a sugar free polo mint habit as a result.
