Welcome to thread 6 friends old and new! Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we traverse into 2025 with new bodies and new mindsets πŸ₯°

I’m on W11D5 and on my second 5mg pen
F in her early 50’s
H 5’ 5”
SW 13st 11lb
CW 12st 2.2lb
GW 10st (maybe 9st 7lb if I don’t look too saggy!)
Total loss so far 23lbs

Recommend the Shotsy app to monitor MJ in my system and pleasing graphs to look at…plus the MeThreeSixty body scan app to monitor inch loss for the weeks where weight loss is slow but you might have lost body fat etc. Both are free.

Feel free to swap recipes, tips for side effects and we love a beauty/fitness/style chat too.

Happy Friday!

11 weeks down and 26lbs gone forever! Fingers crossed next week I can reach 2 stone. 🀞🏼

I still have a lot of weight to lose but being on Mounjaro feels like having a secret weapon. For the first time in any of my many weight loss journeys over the years I feel like I can actually stick to this and reach my goal.

πŸ₯³ awesome! Congrats.

So happy to hear of all the milestones, and near stones coming through.
It's all motivating. Congrats to all

Being able to enjoy clothes shopping is a great non scale win. Though I'm not sure if there will be any shops left by the time I reach goal.

You’ll get there, keep going πŸ’ͺ🏻

It's lovely to hear everyone's amazing results!! I finally saw my first post-Christmas loss this morning. I've hit 71kg so I'm only 1kg above a healthy bmi and an imperial weight starting with a 10! Yes, I measure in both! πŸ˜‚

Wow! That is excellent! Congrats πŸ‘πŸ‘

So I have a new symptom 😩. Major loss in taste! Everything tastes of rubber. Anyone else??!

Are you sure it isn’t covid? Lots of it about where I am…

Very pleased to say the jeans I bought on Black Friday, which my husband gave me for Christmas, actually fit!!! I thought they were smaller than that, so I’m glad I tried them!! They are three waist inches smaller than the ones I was wearing before I started (and those were tight). I am now going to shelve my larger jeans (with the aim of giving them away) 😁πŸ’ͺ

πŸ₯³πŸ₯³ Awesome!

NSV, had my hair cut today and found looking at my face for an hour considerably less depressing than it was back in October. It's still very soft around the edges but by my next cut I might have the start of a jawline again!

Fab! I’m working on my jaw line πŸ™ˆ

@murraymcgill thanks. It's been the same with MedExpress who I've had my pens with so far. I'm doing zava as it's the cheapest for 7.5mg (with a friend's code) and then probably going to move to oushk.

I'm hoping for a pound a week loss which should mean I'm close to 25 after my next pen. If it all goes to plan... and then move to oushk for the last half stone and potentially maintenance.

25 lbs off is fab! Congrats!

OP posts:
Cantbesure · 20/01/2025 18:11

25 would be the BMI @Mounjaropen as I think from what I've read that's oushk's standard cut off for accepting people already on WLIs. I'm just at 14lbs off as from today but hoping (with a fair wind) to get to about 20lbs down after my next full pen.

I want to get to oushk to support with a maintenance programme. I'd like to think I can do it alone but I'm following people who have got to their goal very closely. Whilst I hope I'm creating healthy habits I can't deny that my choices are all assisted by the GLP1.

Still a stone off and worth celebrating tho!

I had the opposite one week, coffee especially was overwhelmingly full of flavour - it was sort of spicy. And I had a week or so of everything tasting very slightly metallic.

mustwashmycurtains · 20/01/2025 19:09

feeling a bit disheartened. silly but i've not lost anything in about a week - despite not eating very much or carelessly?
Think i've been getting used to it feeling like it could work and now i'm terrified I won't get past this current weight.

Lost - 8kg, approx 20 to go.

I know i'm being premature and will prob fall off in a whoosh. Also aware i'm not drinking enough water so need to work on that

:-(

I feel your pain, it’s rubbish when we are trying so hard but hang on in there, we can do thisπŸ’ͺ

murraymcgill · 20/01/2025 19:28

I'll wait and see what oushk say I filled it all in and paid but they haven't approved yet if the don't I'm not going to bother I want to loose 10lbs fingers crossed they approve soon

Whattodowithaminute · 20/01/2025 20:39

Has anyone experienced hair thinning? I can see more of my skull than I’m happy with… frantically ordered some collagen and keto powders yesterday-have no idea if they will assist at all-any ideas?!!!

Cantbesure · 20/01/2025 20:40

@mustwashmycurtains sorry to hear you are feeling a bit deflated. I've had the same experience. Things seem to be picking up this week which def helps with the motivation. 8kgs is a big loss.

@murraymcgill good luck with oushk. What's your BMI?

Definitely had the metallic taste - if I was younger I’d have been doing a pregnancy test!

Look at your body stats. A loss of a cm or inch off a waist keeps you going even of the scales say otherwise. Keep going! A whoosh might be due!

I’ve had the opposite and my hair dresser says I actually have new hair growth. It’s worth keeping an eye on in case you might be mineral deficient. Are you taking a multivitamin?

OP posts:
Whattodowithaminute · 20/01/2025 21:06

I’m not taking multivitamins but have ordered some so hopefully that will sort the issue! Thanks @Mounjaropen

I have lost a lot of hair, it’s not due to medication it’s because of drastic diet change. My hair was also curly and bouncy and that drastically changed to lank, straight and lifeless. I have had it cut short into a sleek short bob .

LindtCurves · 20/01/2025 22:19

I’ve gained a pound! However I’m completely happy with it as I’ve gained back some muscle.

I’ve lost 4kg of muscle since the start of my journey and my goal right now is to hack my diet and exercise so that I retain my lovely muscles and lose almost only fat. Will be harder to achieve and take longer, but putting muscle back on later would be even harder!

Just need to retain a good routine to keep up the regular weight training.

Della82 · 20/01/2025 22:29

Urgh all the talk about 🍈 has made me realise my bras don’t fit!
going to have to go shopping and exercise caution so I don’t get over excited and spend too much on a temporary size!
