Thanks KM for the tips which all seems really sensible. I'll rethink everything this week and see if I can turn it around.

myladyjane · 20/01/2025 08:27

@snowydayy I think water more water needed and some proper meals? How much fruit and veg are you eating?

Can I ask re food noise? I am definitely getting fuller quicker. Have left food in my plate instinctively. But I am also definitely thinking about food. Planning what I'm having and whilst I'm not picking, it's because of will power. I seem to be quite hungry (last night I couldn't sleep because I was hungry so ended up getting a babybel which did help).

If I am honest my issue is big portions and mindless snacking/grazing so I was really hoping this would help with that. I am only on week one so I guess I'm just being impatient as I am definitely feeling something just not what I was hoping for?

Hi all,
Started MJ 06/01 and due my 3rd jab this evening I’ve lost 10lbs in 2 weeks which just blows my mind! I’ve stuck to around 1200 cals a day and had a few side effects such as nausea, constipation and stomach pains. I do have IBS though so was expecting these side effects.
I’ve injected into thigh both times up to now and considering stomach this evening but a bit worried side effects may be worse from injecting into stomach? I’ve read suppression is greater after injecting in stomach and I would like that as by day 5-7 I am more hungry but not sure if the potentially worse side effects from injecting in the stomach will be worth it. Anybody have experience of injecting in thigh and stomach?

Grecianrainbow · 20/01/2025 08:53

W3D5 - hungry again this morning, I’ve ordered 5mg pen for next round. Still sticking to plan - though need to figure out how to get more protein

DGonMJ · 20/01/2025 08:56

@snowydayy I track daily and after a massive loss in the first week I started putting it back on in the second. I had got back into more regular exercise that week so I wondered if that had something to do with it.
But keep drinking 2l of water daily, eating high protein meals and it will eventually start to shift.

Hi, I did my 1st jab in my thigh, next 2 in my stomach. I am jabbing again tonight and going to stick to my stomach.

I've had absolutely no difference in suppression or side effects. I keep seeing about different injection sites having different impacts, I do struggle to see how that could even be the case though. I think it's probably psychosomatic.

I'm going to stick with my stomach, only because the jab site on my thigh was pretty sore afterwards but stomach has been fine.

Well done on your loss so far, that's amazing! 👏🏾

anyone who’s ordered the pens from medexpress, i’m trying to order my next pen (5mg) but it it says it will be reviews by a pharmacy or something (took me back to the questions page that i originally filled out) do they not just send it out with us already completing this? how long did it take for the pen to arrive? Thanks

I just went on my account to orders, there was a button that said order next pen. I clicked on that. It was approved within 2 hours and I received it the next day, on a Sunday no less!

QueenBarbs · 20/01/2025 09:23

Just done my week 1 weigh in. I am 8.5 lb down, not surprised though after all the week I've had. Today should be jab 2 day but still undecided whether to take it or not 🤔

UnderandOverwhelmed · 20/01/2025 09:24

What needles have people ordered to try and get the extra dose? I assume we can't just use the spare pen needles and dial up again?

Tempted to do a lower dose but then really not sure how to even do that?

Are you feeling better now?

I am but it took me until yesterday to feel better, so not sure I can face it all starting again

Dunkou · 20/01/2025 09:33

Re injection sites, there was a trial run that showed that if you inject in the abdomen, you absorb more MJ and so are more likely to get side-effects than in the arm or leg. www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/drugs-mounjaro-injection-sites#thigh-or-abdomen

For those asking about reducing dose, a full dose of 2.5mg on a 2.5mg pen (when you reach the number 1) is 60 clicks. So 30 clicks and then inject would be 1.25mg.

Yes you are still supposed to throw away after 30 days even if you have taken reduced doses and have MJ left. Some people go on a few days longer but it's not recommended.

Oh gosh I’m sorry. I’m going home to do the first one and I’m scared. I think if I were you and was going to try again I’d definitely half the dose…..but I don’t know much about that….

Dunkou · 20/01/2025 09:34

@QueenBarbs you can delay your dose a couple of days if you want it doesn't have to be exactly a week.

I have ordered these https://medbasic.co.uk/bd-micro-fine-30g-1ml-syringes-needles/?attribute_pa_quantity=10 after seeing a recommendation on another thread.
I plan to try to extract the extra dose and not mess about trying to force the pen to work as apparently the manufacturers have caught on what people are doing and stopped the pens administering a 5th dose. I aren’t wasting expensive medicine so I’ve bought these syringe needles and going to watch YouTube videos on how to do the golden dose!

Fingers crossed for you that there's no bad side effects and it's a smooth journey. Just remember it works well for most, so there's a good chance you will be fine!

Ah okay that's good to know, was thinking I had to do it today. Was even worrying I've missed doing it at the same time 😂

I may wait a couple of days then and then do a reduced dose, the information you shared of the clicks for the dosage was very useful. Thank you!

@Therealmetherealme thats good to know, thanks. How long did the order take?

I ordered the 5mg and it came the next day.

GrumpyMuleFan · 20/01/2025 10:18

Morning! Can I join you all? I'm so inspired by your stories. 💪 Started on Saturday and very excited as first two days, I have honestly felt wonderful during the day. It is such a joy not be constantly thinking or negotiating around food. It's made me realise just how much internal chatter I had going on. Only downside is my sleep is off - I wear an Oura ring, so get all the data. I normally sleep like a log, so hope this is going to pass. Anyone else have this? Any tips?

thecoffeeowl · 20/01/2025 10:31

The thing that prevented me injecting in my stomach is the stretch marks. It did recommend to avoid them as it can hurt or effect the efficacy of the medicine and as my entire tummy is covered there no chance I’m risking it!!!
I havent really had any side effects and the suppression is enough right now but I’d like a bit more toward the end of the week so I will go up to 5ml next pen.

keeponplodding7 · 20/01/2025 10:47

Just done it. After it sitting in the fridge since September. Feel strangely relieved. But the needle was bent when I took it out….i hope that’s not the end of the world

DareDevil223 · 20/01/2025 10:55

Took my first 2.5 dose last night. I've switched from Wegovy to Mounjaro after losing over 8 stone to get me to my target weight (about a stone away) and then for ongoing maintenance because of the prescribing limit on Wegovy.

I feel absolutely fine. Not hungry right now, no nausea, the only side effect seems to be a dry mouth. All positive so far. Hope everyone has a good week.

Jins · 20/01/2025 11:01

W2 D3 and the scales are shifting very slowly. 1.5lbs off this week so far and indeed in total. It feels strange as every other time I’ve dieted I’ve lost a lot in the first two weeks which I know is mostly water weight.

I've not heard this about stretch marks, and have injected twice into mine and all good so far 👍
