2nd weight in and 4lb loss 📉

2lb away from stone mark in 2weeks suppression wasn't as strong 2md week so bit of willpower a couple days with health choices been using my fitness pal to track everything and stayed within my 1200cals so all good no treats no alcohol no takeaway even when kids and other half enjoyed chippy. Just took 3rd jag so hoping for a 2lb loss next week to hit my stone 😢 🤞 hope every1 doing well x

Jins · 17/01/2025 12:30

@unicornsaremagical be pleased with 5lbs. I’ve lost nothing in week one. 🤣

So jabbed the flab this morning for the first time. Was really worried I would be the one person who died inexplicably after 1 dose but I’m fine😂 Do feel different/weird but still managed to comfort eat pizza and crisps. Is it usual not to feel particularly suppressed on day 1? I’m worried because I don’t eat coz I’m hungry it’s usually self medication for stress. I was expecting I would not want to eat but still managed to consume a lot of rubbish. Anyone else had this experience?
any advice on what should be eating?

Edited

It's about mentally changing ur habits and not comfort eating the things u previously ate to supress ur emotions some ppl take adverse effects to the oils cheese etc within pizzas. Concentrate more on fruit veg yogurts protien. I have been using gusto meals as my main meal isn't new to me but the choices on meals have been different as now in mindset at lookin at the calories etc within my meal options. Pickin up some protien drinks would b good idea for days suppression may hit most. Less carbs more protien/veg/fruit atleast 2ltr water per day.

unicornsaremagical · 17/01/2025 12:33

@Jins next week might be your week. For some people it takes a few weeks to set in, i’m sure you’ll see progress

Week 3, Day 1!! I have just done my 3rd 2.5mg dose. Today I am:

71.75kg, 35.1% fat, 44.5% water, BMI 26.4.

On January 2nd, I was 76.2kg, with BMI 28, 36.5% fat and 43.6% water.

I've lost 2kg in the past week. So far so good, minimal symptoms/side effects. I've had the odd time where I've had a weird metallic taste and a bit of nausea.

I'm really trying to reset in my brain that these smaller portions, and eating only when hungry (and properly listening to when I feel full) are the way to go. I also need to keep on top of stopping constipation...and to increase my protein and fibre intake!!

Hope everyone is doing ok :) I'm about to head off to work. Soup (tomato and lentil) for lunch :)

Ur same as me week 3 day 1 and also had that metallic taste 😫 goodluck to a successful week 🤞

Ohyay · 17/01/2025 13:19

W2D2 - week 1 lulled me into a false sense of security. The nausea today is 11/10 🤣

Hi. For those of you “clicking” extra doses, do you buy extra needle tips like these…..?

I had my first dose on Weds and have noticed a drastic reduction in appetite already.
Placebo effect, or is it normal to feel a difference so soon.

could someone explain how to do the extra dose?

QueenBarbs · 17/01/2025 14:58

Day 5 for me today, after a very rough start to my journey. Today I feel good, no side effects and lots of suppression. If everyday had been like this I'd say I love mounjaro 😂 now it's deciding if I risk the horrendous side effects for week 2 on Monday or call it a day.

Boohoo76 · 17/01/2025 16:00

Had my first jab today, about 1.5 hours ago. Feeling very nervous.

Glad you're feeling better QueenBarbs fingers crossed the sickness will settle down now 🤞

Im loving reading how well everyone is doing - I've just got back from being out all day and the MJ has arrived 🥳 now to decide whether to just do it now or wait until tomorrow as I'm out tonight. Has anyone had the sickness/diarrhoea start the same day or does it tend to be after a day or two? Don't want to be ill for later!

melodyonmounjaro · 17/01/2025 16:14

Hello all!

I haven't read the thread yet but will later this evening!

I gave myself my first jab of 2.5mg on Wednesday 15/1, no symptoms so far but not much suppression either! I'm sticking to 1,500 cals (there or thereabouts) and climbing the walls a little bit, looking forward to the food noise dying down!

I'm secretly doing this, no-one knows. I got my pen from Oushk as they let you pick a delivery day which works for me as I'm a shift worker and I can pick a date where I know I'll be in alone.

I'm massive and short and my weight affects everything, looking forward to changing my life.

So hello!

SW 127.5kg

workingbalance · 17/01/2025 16:24

I am on W2D4 and I can say this second week has been so much better re side effects. W1 was pretty hard going - I think I ticked every side effect going (and some more it seemed!) and I had my doubts but it has not at all been the same intensity this week. Food suppression is still good - although new habits of eating are starting to form which is what I have really been trying to do - so smaller portions and no snacking. And I have lost some weight so much happier overall this week. So I think if you can face it go for W2.

That was meant to be in answer to Queenbarbs!

Kitchenspade · 17/01/2025 16:24

I filled in my firm and sent images and paid superdrug last night at about 5pm. Still haven't heard back. Anyone know what the usual wait time is?

tinyemmy · 17/01/2025 16:24

week 1 / month 1 on MJ 2.5 done! Tonight I'll do my second jab

SW: 86.7 kgs BMI 29 (Friday 10th Jan)
CW: 83.4 kgs BMI 27.9 (today)
GW: 68 kgs (BMI 22-23)

Additional bonuses this week:
no desire for alcohol, tea & coffee in afternoon whatsover
no afternoon slump, can work through appointments without feeling exhausted / sleepy
Side effects: minimal but do exist. But that's fine, it's a new medication, body is adjusting.

I have to say I'm astounded by these results though I appreciate this may be the first 'whoosh' of water etc and unbloating after holiday overeating. But still. Even under those circumstances I've never in my whole life had such a dramatic weight loss in one week.

I've been eating well: I always ate well nutrition-wise, for years I've made each morning a small meal plan for the day for me, and have aimed to stop at enough & eat when hungry. I always drink a lot of water so that's not an issue and walk quite a lot. What MJ has done is made it possible to actually follow my meal plans to the letter - they include lots of good food so I definitely didn't go starving, just ate the right things for me and some treats. It also allowed me to stop at enough & eat when hungry. My hunger was there, very low but didn't completely disappear and I don't want it to.

Next challenge: exercise. Ideas? As we go through the first weeks does anyone want to join me in starting an exercise plan? I have been doing Stepbet for years (do you know it? it's a good app to encourage walking) and that's fine for walking, but for strength training & stamina I'm thinking of going back to Body Coach (Joe Wicks) that I used to love and/or to be courageous and do the couch to 5K running plan.

Anyway. Step by step. Very pleased with my results so far.

Great results!
Yes I'm loving not having an afternoon slump! I'd say I'm feeling quite tired now and that would normally have me reaching for food and instead I'm wondering what I can do to energise myself - more water, move etc
I do martial arts, walk and try and fit in a couple of home strength workouts a week.

FCforMounjaro · 17/01/2025 16:31

W1D3

Slight intermittent nausea, headache mild on day 1&2. Quite a lot of suppression.

I had 1st dose Tuesday night so I’ll weight Wednesday morning. I’m going to have 2nd dose Tuesday morning and hope to be able to move to a Monday evening the following week which works better for me.

Not liking coffee and not had any chocolate at all - miracle (early days I know).

stilllovingmysleep · 17/01/2025 16:44

Help! Shock think I've messed up

Just did my second dose (week 2) and as I'm very new to this I think I managed to be ultra stupid and wasted 2 doses! I feel ridiculous to admit this but I injected twice with the little cap on I think because I'm nervous. On the third go managed it but feel ridiculous now.

What to do? Does that mean I have only 1 dose now left? In which case I suppose I could split it over the next 2 weeks but that'll be minimum. Or actually I don't have any left and need to order now? Gosh how stupid of me.

FCforMounjaro · 17/01/2025 16:49

@stilllovingmysleep you should have 2 doses left I think, as there’s the priming volume which equates to another dose. Did you do the clicks twice ?

stilllovingmysleep · 17/01/2025 16:55

@FCforMounjaro I think I probably used 3 today, 2 wasted and 1 used: can't believe I've been so utterly stupid / careless. Goes to show if someone is nervous and hurried what can happen. I think I'll have to order early ... I'll let them know.

FCforMounjaro · 17/01/2025 16:57

So you should have the bonus dose left?
don’t feel silly, I thought it was quite fiddly to do.

Hi @FCforMounjaro what's the bonus dose, is that a full dose for next Friday? Or a half dose?

I think there’s normally extra volume and if you inject the hub you can extract it. But you need a needle and syringe (can get from pharmacies). I plan to try.
