Thanks @letshavetea - sometimes it just drags you down 😢. I get what you are saying though 🤗
I need to finish my 5mg jab and I think I’ll just move straight up and see how I feel - I did the same from 2.5mg to 5mg and was fine. 2.5mg was horrible as I felt so odd on it but ok since I moved up.

I’m only 5’3 and before the pandemic and a broken leg I was between 62 - 65kg and was happy with that as I do lift weights and also used to run / boot camps etc. I’m 80kg at the moment so the weight I have lost does make a difference but I’ve still got a long way to go.
I am a bit worried about too much suppression at 7.5mg as I do weight train and try and eat 1500 kcal a day but I have started to feel emotionally hungry again so maybe I need to go up and see how I feel and whether it helps.

BackToWegovy · 06/04/2025 05:24

So relieved that I have not had side effects for my holiday. 1 mg seems to be the sweet spot (hope I am not jinxing it). Plenty of food on offer here but I can’t eat all of it. I expect I will gain a bit this week but less than I would have without the Wegovy. I am skiing and glad to be down to the weight I am - my knees are better than they have been and it is great I can get out there and do it.

Ifyounevergiveup · 07/04/2025 18:07

@BackToWegovy What brilliant news! Well done on every front!

Pinkyp22 · 19/04/2025 09:49

Hi everyone

No weight loss updates really, I have reached 80kg, Ideally id like to have gotten to 76kg which would make me at the highest end of normal BMI but...
Wevw had some devastating news in the family, my mum is sadly dying with lung cancer and hasn't got a lot of time left. As if this wasn't bad enough, my 13 year old sons father ( we are divorced) has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, which has likely spread to his liver and lungs. All whilst I am 2 weeks away from final exams for my nursing degree, and my husband and I finally bought our first home . I have no words for it all really, so overwhelmed.
As you can imagine my weight loss journey is now the least important thing in my life, and all my spare money will now be going on our new home, supporting my mum who is 2 hours drive away and of cource my dear little boy.
So with all this life stuff the time has come for me to come off mounjaro - scared is an understatement. Anyone any advice to give please please do share. I am hoping and praying I have worked enough on my mind to deal with this, but I am so scared, that with the inevitable stress and emotional upheaval I will revert back to old eating habits. (emotional eating has been a huge issue for me my entire life).
I have got one 10mg pen left
Do I use this 10mg pen as 10mg and say ive got 4/5 weeks left on it and thats it
Or try and reduce the dose, say 5mg for a few weeks and then 2.5 for the remainder so that one pen lasts longer?

Good morning @Pinkyp22 I am so sorry to hear your sad news. Sending all the very best to you and your family. You have done so well with your weight loss and so near to your goal. I am more or less where I want to be weight wise and it is scary to think of life post MJ. I am not ready to give up taking it yet...guess I have become a little dependent on it after taking it since last August. Can you keep your options open so that if you start gaining again you can go back on it? I read somewhere that a large majority regain weight after stopping MJ. I know that will be the last thing on your mind right now. Again sending best wishes to you and congratulations on getting so far with your degree. You have worked so hard to get where you are. Can you delay your exams if you feel the need to? I understand this might not be practical. Can you drop down to a cheaper dose or see how it goes not jabbing, with the option of going back on? Wishing you all the best in your new home. My thoughts are with you xx

Thank you
I guess I have a few months at least before our house is complete so I could have at least 2 months still on it if I need to.
If it wasn't for all the above going on I would be a lot more confident in my abilities. I know that I have to continue doing exercise and eating well to maintain this.
Its definitely a security blanket isn't it

NaivePrey · 19/04/2025 12:38

morning all

sorry to hear about your news @Pinkyp22 - and my thoughts are with you and your family. my only advice would be instead of worrying about the weight loss, see what you can do with your jabs and then maybe just use myfitnesspal to track your calories and don't worry about any blips until you can go back on if you need to? As everyone says it's a marathon not a sprint so there are going to be bumps in your route.

I do sympathise as have also had lots going on and struggling to sleep due to stress and anxiety and think this has had a knock on effect with my weightloss - I have stayed the same for about 8 weeks and its very frustrating. Also, have injured my back and struggling with exercise at the moment as well.

I have gone up to 7.5mg and no shift at the moment will continue ai 7.5mg for the next month as well. @letshavetea hope you are getting on ok with your move up to 7.5mg?

Hope everyone else is keeping well? xx

Azuresky68 · 19/04/2025 19:37

@Pinkyp22. Sending you lots of love and hugs. Please don't give up on your weight loss journey...you have done so incredibly well xx

BackToWegovy · 19/04/2025 21:07

I’m so sorry @Pinkyp22 you need to concentrate on your family. Revisit the weight loss when you are ready. I think lower doses for longer would be best for a bit of maintenance while the pen lasts with the added bonus of fewer side effects at a stressful time.

Pinkyp22 · 20/04/2025 18:13

Not giving up, but will have to go it alone for the remainder 😐

Letshavetea1 · 20/04/2025 18:31

@Pinkyp22 so sorry to hear about all you’re dealing with with your family. If you can possibly afford it is it worth just staying on MJ (even at a lower dose) to keep things ticking over so it’s one less thing to deal with? @NaivePrey So sorry to hear about your bad back. I, too have stayed the same (ish) for a couple of months. I’ve used my first 7.5 mg pen to slowly titrate up. Tonight I will finally take 7.5 mg. As I’ve gone up with this pen, some side effects have returned (mainly constipation). Not too bad though. I can’t say suppression is great - not what I hoped for to be honest! I’ll see how it goes over the next month fully on the 7.5 mg.

Ifyounevergiveup · 22/04/2025 13:21

@Pinkyp22 oh sweetheart, I’ve just come on here this morning after being floored by flu for a while, and I’m just so sorry to read your post. My thoughts have been with you (and the rest of our little crew) anyway but obviously much more so now.

Fwiw my thinking would be this. You were within a few months (or even weeks) of having to decide what to do anyway because you’re (not you were, you ARE) nearly where you want to be. There isn’t that much info out there so it seems to me we’re all going to have to find our way through coming off or staying on Mj. My thinking is that it’s the food noise that’s key. I’m starting to go down the doses which is introducing hunger every now and again (which I think is a good thing) but the constant thinking about food hasn’t started up again. And it might not ever come back. So my plan was to keep reducing my dose over time (and the most economical way of doing that is to get a high dose pen but count clicks and keep it in the fridge). Once at goal weight I was planning to join the Oushk maintenance plan so I would have access to Mj if the food noise ever came back, but that’s cheaper than continuing to buy pens.

Here’s the thing. You can control so little in your life at the moment that I don’t want you to feel that everything has spiralled away from you. You have been so strong for so long. Keep posting on here even if it’s nothing to do with Mj. We have come to love and admire you and we’re here for you now just like always. Get those exams out of the way. Love those around you and love yourself. And do whatever feels best for you. Big hugs. Xxxxx

BackToWegovy · 29/04/2025 19:57

An update from me. I have been maintaining for ages now - since early March so 2 months. Would like to have lost more but happy I am not gaining. I have also had randomly timed side effects. I was ill when I got back from my holiday 8 days after my last injection. I was ill on Sunday evening 7 days after the last one. And also on a Monday just after in injection. I have cut my dose down, had longer breaks and most of the time I am fine but I am beginning to doubt that I should continue. Trying to correlate with what I am eating but I don’t think it does. My current plan is to have a week off and then go down to 0.8mg for five weeks. See how I feel before my next order. I could drop down to 0.5 I guess. It’s so frustrating. I know I will gain if I stop.

Ifyounevergiveup · 30/04/2025 18:03

@BackToWegovy I had to drop down on Mounharo from 10mg to 7.5mg and I’ve not looked back. How much have you lost? I concluded 10mg was too much for my shrinking frame and since then the absolutely appalling side effects have completely stopped. And I’m back to my pre-op weight of 10 stone 13 (and whining about not being lower…some things never change!). I guess I’m a fan of doing what feels right for you. Keep us posted

BackToWegovy · 01/05/2025 06:26

Aw thanks - I quite like the theory that we need less as we get smaller. I have lost about 2 st. Were you ok on 10mg for a while before the symptoms started? All the talk is about the symptoms reducing over time but I have found the opposite.

Ifyounevergiveup · 01/05/2025 13:51

@BackToWegovy Yes, I was fine on 10mg after initial bad gastrointestinal symptoms but when they came back they were much worse than when I had gone up. I came down by counting clicks to the end of the 10mg pen so I found out I needed less by accident! To me, it’s absolute proof the dose is too high if you develop symptoms you didn’t have when you were larger. Most hormone meds eg thyroxine are weight dependent so why wouldn’t Mj be the same, is my thinking!

Ifyounevergiveup · 04/05/2025 20:27

@Pinkyp22 hope your exams went well, dear heart. I have been keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Little update…10 stone 12 for the first time since primary school…16 pounds to go which I’m estimating will take me until the end of the year. And I’ve had to put all my spring clothes on ebay because they’re all far too big. For anyone who’s thinking that half a pound a week isn’t enough (including last year’s me) keep plugging on. It really does add up in the end.

Fantastic progress 👏 well done and keep going. I am at my original goal and have been since March but really wanted to lose another half stone. At my original goal I am 25.1 BMI so still slightly overweight...at just under 5 foot I am wearing size 8 or 10s depending on brand. Best wishes to all!

Ifyounevergiveup · 05/05/2025 18:10

@Azuresky68 SIZES 8 OR 10??!! I am in awe. Mind you I have a whole two inches on you so I have every right to be hugely heavier 😆. May I ask why you wanted another half stone? I’m fascinated to know how people set their final goals. Mine is a BMI of 24.9 - juussssst normal weight - or it is for now, but if I still have a fat apron I reserve the right to change my mind. Mind you, it used to rest on the top of my thighs but they never meet any more, so it is shrinking…!

Letshavetea1 · 05/05/2025 19:34

Hi to you all. Nice to hear the updates. @BackToWegovy and @Ifyounevergiveup listening to both of you say about side effects of higher doses I’m going to stick at 7.5 mg of Mounjaro which I have just nicely settled into. @Azuresky68 - size eight to ten - wow!
@Ifyounevergiveup - re final goals. I’ve just lost another pound so these are my current stats:
SW 12 stone 9.5 lb bmi 28.6
CW 11 stone 7 lb
GW 11 stone bmi 24.9
GW probably 10 stone 7 lb bmi 23.7 (to give wriggle room)

I’m currently averaging half a pound a week weight loss. So it’ll take me until November to get to the final goal. I’m fine with that I think.

I’ve come down from a big size 16 to fitting into getting loose fitting size 14s. I’d love to fit into size 12s. I’ll need new bras and swimsuits soon I think. Although clothes sizes are all over the place! I don’t really feel I’ll get to a size 10.

The comment about the tummy no longer sitting on the legs made me laugh. Mine isn’t as bad although having had a c section and a hysterectomy I’ll always have an overhang!

I think I’m going to stay on MJ. Too scary a thought to come off and out it back on! I’m with Oushk and I think I’ll go on a maintenance plan with titrating down. I’ll speak to them once I get to a healthy bmi.

Ifyounevergiveup · 05/05/2025 21:44

@Letshavetea1 “The comment about the tummy no longer sitting on the legs made me laugh. Mine isn’t as bad although having had a c section and a hysterectomy I’ll always have an overhang!” - oh, if only I had that excuse! I’m afraid my flab slab is all of my own making, no children to blame, I mean thank! I think it’s where all the chocolate I ate in my teens now lives. But I’ll keep plugging on because damn it, it works eventually! You’re doing a cracking job, there’s nothing tells the truth like clothes which used to fit. Except nowadays we’re too small for them, not the other way round!

BackToWegovy · 06/05/2025 07:31

Another round of sickness. I am this morning finally under both 70kg and 11st for the first time in a very long time but that’s only after not really eating after lunch yesterday and a lot of d&v. It just not worth it. I am debating cutting the dose again to 0.5mg or just stopping altogether.

Letshavetea1 · 06/05/2025 08:02

@BackToWegovy - so sorry you’re suffering like this. You’ve done so well, but as you keep being sick it’s hard to live like that. Is it worth speaking to your pharmacist?

Azuresky68 · 06/05/2025 08:10

@Ifyounevergiveup Hi there. My original target weight 9 stone 25.4 BMI - classed as overweight! According to NHS my target weight should be between 6 stone 8 pounds to 8 stone 11 pounds (BMI 24.9) 8 stone 7 pounds would give me some wriggle room and I would be BMI 24. Can't see myself coming off MJ as I am 68 and never want to do this again! Currently on 10 mg. Good luck to everyone. It's a battle worth winning and thank goodness for MJ!

BackToWegovy · 06/05/2025 08:11

I could do but am a bit reluctant to because they haven’t been massively helpful in the past and can only suggest the standard doses or stopping.
