Hello everyone. I know there’s another January starters thread but it has got quite big and there seems to be a few people starting today now New Year’s Day is out of the way.

I am doing my first jab tonight after I’ve eaten dinner, around 8pm 😬

If anybody is also jabbing today / tonight / has already jabbed and would like to join in then please do. I am a bit nervous about the side effects (if I get any), I am not gonna lie!

I am starting with 2.5mg mounjaro
16 stone, 5 pounds

ETA: Not laughing at you, OP just at the situation. Your thread is just as valid as the 2nd and 3rd threads. So no complaints with this one.

Would it be ok if I asked what people are roughly paying? There is a local cosmetic clinic (presume they have a qualified RN or Doc etc doing Botox) who are advertising as "from £45 per week".

Look at monj.co.uk for a current price list. £45 a week would be £180 for each injection pen. That's more expensive than a lot of providers for the starting 2.5mg dose.

By the way this was in response to a pharma company advertising themselves here - which MNHQ have deleted - it's not directed to any of you.

I'm lurking.... my MJ pen has been in the fridge a week and I haven't used it yet.....

Yes I am moving up to 5mg tonight.

I've had no side effects (except maybe a bit of constipation), but also I've had no appetite suppression either!! There were a couple of days on week 2 where I didn't want to eat anything but I think that was down to other factors going on.

Since then I've gone back to eating crap again and feeling hungry, so I am really hoping 5mg starts to work as this isn't cheap.

I've lost about 6 pounds. Which is fine but also quite disheartening when you see people losing over a stone in a few weeks.

It just hasn't worked for me yet.

I had awful side effects on the first weekend. I couldn't eat a thing and had severe diarrhoea for 3 days. Then the rest of the week I could only pick. The first weigh in I had lost only 2lbs. The second week I haven't had any side effects and my weigh in is tomorrow. I'm hoping for a better week. I've really struggled with carbs this week. I've been able to eat around 1000 calories a day, drunk 3 ltrs of water and done a little exercise. Can you let me know how you get on with the increased dose. I'm hoping I don't have the side effects as bad as the first time as I honestly thought I can't keep doing that.
