Watched the panorama prog on weight loss. Tidal wave of ill health linked to obesity. Mentions concerns with how some people abuse them through on line, lean muscle loss, people with psychological problems, weight re-gain.
chances of getting drugs from NHS very low as many areas don’t have specialist tier 3 weight management services. Government cut money going into weight loss services so some may reduce access. No mention of diabetes prescription
The current model is leading to a widening health care divide as there tends to be more obesity in areas of social deprivation. Drug is unaffordable privately for some.
usual stuff about eating healthier, cut UPF/carbs/sugar/junk food, exercise more
Doctor giving examples of diabetes T2 remission through diet and exercise - no mention of WLI
need more control on drug issuing /support - implication that safe access is only via NHS? Early days for WLI blah blah blah.
