I know. I am impressed with my progress when I look in the mirror. Such a wonderful change

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 31/12/2024 13:38

Checking in, thanks for the shiny new thread!

W7D5
Start weight: 12 st 6
Current weight: 11 st 5.8
Total loss 14.2lbs (15.2lbs from order date)
First goal weight: 9 st 11 (BMI under 25)
Second goal weight: 9 st

I ordered a size 12 denim skirt on Vinted which arrived today and not only does it fit, it has two rows of buttons and I can do up the smaller ones! Actually slightly worried that it will be too big by the summer (it’s white so can’t possibly wear it just now, looking at sea of mud where garden ought to be). Still, I think with denim it will just look slouchier and sit lower on my hips. I am shopping a lot less due to the worry of shrinking out of clothes, which has to be a good thing.

Woohoo! Sounds wonderful. You can take clothes to a local seamstress for relatively low cost if things get too big. Congrats on the losses so far!

No plans for me tonight. Sofa and then early to bed. Don't do NYE, find the whole thing too upsetting

Fuck it, I'm officially logging today's weight from the last thread to join the new thread, even though it's not a Friday. Christmas rules!

Well….

im a bit gutted….

always had a wrinkle free fat round face.

Today at work a couple of people asked if I had done something different with my hair as I looked different.

To be honest, I’m not one for looking in the mirror. Really only when I am plucking the hairs on my chin. On return from work, I would look in the mirror to see how my hair was sitting and I examined my face closely and without a word of a lie , 16 lines have appeared, I’m gutted!

IndigoHexagon · 31/12/2024 15:42

End of year check in!

W10 D4
SW: 108.9kg (113.35kg on 30/09 when starting cal counting)
CW: 94.25kg
GW: 73kg

Oh my gosh!!

So before Xmas I realised my ambition to have lost 3st by today wasn’t going to happen (started calorie counting 30/09 and MJ on 25/10). A bit ambitious to begin with and with the holidays I thought I needed to be more realistic.

I did eat a lot more than usual (since MJ) on Xmas day and Boxing Day, but I’ve been back consistent since AND I’ve been upping my steps by about 5000 a day with taking the dog out for longer hikes.

However I have been feeling a bit sore in my lower abdomen so ate some prune purée last night and took senna.
I got on the scales this morning resigned to missing my target….

Guess who hit her target ON THE NOSE!
Exactly 19.05kg (3 stone) lost in total. And I’m in the next stone down bracket too!

I’m actually chuffed. The extra calories and steps must have given my metabolism that extra kick it needed!

Roll on 2025! I rejoined the weightlifting gym I used to go to yesterday and have committed to the 75 Medium challenge. My next goal is to be at my pre-covid weight by the end of the challenge - another 11kg to go to that one!

Happy New Year everyone!

Oceangrey · 31/12/2024 15:47

New thread, great.

schoolmum11 · 31/12/2024 15:50

Checking in! I've put on a few pounds over the Xmas period. Hoping to get back on track in Jan

KentishMama · 31/12/2024 16:30

Checking in!

WK8 D6
SW 93.1 kg - BMI 30.1
CW 84.6 kg - 8.5 kg lost so far - BMI 27.9
GW maybe 75 kg - BMI 24.8?

Does anyone else feel like suppression is too high on a new dose? This is my first week on 5 mg - I titrated more slowly with 3.75 for 3 weeks after the 2.5 mg dose. I'm struggling to eat enough, not even managing half portions a lot of the time. I'm wondering if it'll be better in the second week on 5 mg, but this first one is pretty full on.

Bite the bullet and step on the scales… you might be as surprised as I was earlier! 💪

Thanks for the encouragement - will weigh first thing. Main thing is I know my next jab is imminent and how well it works so bring on January 💪

“Arse or face” is a real thing where I live. For a long time I convinced myself it should be the face. Turns out it needed to be my arse 😂

Checking in on the new thread! Happy New Year everyone!! 🥂

Our plans are very restrained - at home with party food and an early night. My little boy has scary surgery scheduled for Monday and we’ve been doing pre op stuff for most of the day. Not quite sure what I’m doing injection wise next week with all the hospital stuff, I’ll be camping at the hospital so may bring it but wary of random unexpected side effects as I need to be 100%. Will jab tomorrow and see how I fare. I have bought one of those Frio wallets in case I bring it with me. I know technically you don’t need to refrigerate it though.

Tbh the jab will prob be out of my mind completely. May just leave it at home and see how we all get on.

AlwaysTimeForWine · 31/12/2024 18:26

Happy New Year all! Love the new title! I had to buy some new work trousers today as mine looked too baggy!

I am W7D3
SW 15st 10.6
CW 14st 9.4
Total lost on MJ - 1st 1.2

Mid-week for me so not a proper weigh-in. Did 6 weeks on 2.5mg. Went up to 3mg on Sat and will go up to 3.4 next weekend. Just going slowly up to 5mg and stretching each pen out by a few weeks.

Feeling thrilled with my weight-loss so far. Looking forward to getting back into a routine next week, as my food hasn't been as healthy over Xmas. But I've lost 2lbs over the last 10 days so happy with that - I'm just getting more indigestion etc with the richer foods that are still around.

Have you tried anything to start combatting this? If you can try and get some facial tightening massages and look into a skincare routine. Ive been obsessing over this since i started. Ive always looked reasonable for my age but am worried drastic weightoss will age my face so have gone for a full skincare routine and fortnightly face massages. Also looking at LED masks etc.

Dont panic yet, im sure you can minimise those lines!

I use decent face products but maybe need to up it!

I made the mistake of googling and there is a phrase Ozempic face!!! It’s not flattering 😩

murraymcgill · 31/12/2024 18:49

murraymcgill · 31/12/2024 18:51

End of year weigh in and I'm still obese 🤣 BMI down from 38 to 33.8 since starting MJ in Nov, 12kg off. Going to be a while before I even get to the overweight category never mind anything else. And by then I think I would look ill. At my age with my face and wrinkles I think I could tip to looking gaunt quite easily.

I'm pleased I started when I did though I'm not sure how much longer I'll be on it for. I absolutely need to lose more weight but I'm suffering with low mood quite a bit and not sure which is worse.

Anyone have exciting plans for tonight?

Hello! Just wondering how sure you are your mood is related to MJ? One of the things I'm grateful for is not starting MJ earlier in the year as I hit a real low with my hormones which put me on an emotional rollercoaster (mostly very low mood). Had i started MJ earlier i probably would have blamed it and quit. I managed to control the hormone issues somewhat with supplements before starting MJ.

Maybe something to consider if you havent already before you quit?

namechangedyetagain · 31/12/2024 19:09

I'm not too sure - have been on AD and HRT for a long while before MJ. I seem to be very 'flat' on it. Tired and cold, little energy. I'm not eating rubbish which is great and I'm not squeezing so much into my clothes. I thought I'd feel great! But I don't. Had a rubbish Xmas so that's not helped and the thought of returning to work is never great. I'm at peak meno age so I'm guessing that has a lot to do with things too.

PinkArt · 31/12/2024 19:22

In what way @murraymcgill? It's the prescription we're all on. So 2.5mg for the first pen and so on. A full dose,ie turning the dial to 1, of the 2.5mg pen will be just that, 2.5mg. Or did you mean people who are counting clicks to change their doses?
