@namechangedyetagain its a shit age haha I haven't tried anything on I'd be gutted if they didn't fit I started at 15.4 was 13.1 then meant to have put on 8lbs so I'm forgetting all that and start today I'm not sure what half term is, is it a school holiday I'm doing this for surgery on my spine I need to hit 12.7 or they can't do it

Age twin! I'm blaming menopause. For everything !!!

I have a mini break coming up at half term. Tried a couple of boden jumpsuits on this morning which I've had since at least 5 years and it's been probably that long since they fitted comfortably. The black one is perfect! The blue one fits but if I could lose a little more it would look better I think. Hoping that's 2 holiday outfits I don't need to buy! My (very) formal dresses are now every so slightly too big so I don't know whether to re buy or have taken in.
Absolutely not complaining though 😊

🥳 I bought a lovely Versace dress years ago for my Goddaughter’s Holy communion with the intention of losing weight to fit into it. I never did and she’s no longer 7, but 27 😂 DH reminded me of it’s existence last night so I’m going to dig it out later and leave it out on the wardrobe as inspiration. I reckon I need to be a toned size 12 to wear it…its day will come 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

@Mounjaropen there's a thread on maintenance policies which I've found very interesting. As the drug is relatively new I think this is an area that will change quite quickly as more and more people hit their target. From what I gather, currently only cloud and oushk have actual maintenance policies where you can be more flexible with your use of MJ, eg going a month on and off or some time off and then having a month back on if you feel the weight creeping back on. MedExpress currently have a policy of being on MJ for 2 years.

Whilst I've at least another stone to come off I'm mindful that my BMI is under 30 and heading to 27 so concerned I might not get approved by a new provider if I don't pick one with a maintenance policy. Ideally I would like to lose the weight and then maintain it by good habits. But we all know we have ended up on MJ due to repeated diet failures. So I'd like to know there is a back up plan if I need one.

I've not switched providers before but I've had no take up on my med express code and as you move up the doses get more expensive. I use the monj.co.uk price list to see which pharmacies have the best offers. Zava requires more than MedExpress including holding a dated note above the scales and in your body photos.

Has anyone else moved suppliers on this thread? How was it?

I just managed to inject myself with the golden dose after chickening out last time as I thought the needle looked too big. After seeing loads of people on Tiktok saying how easy it was I convinced myself that I could do it and succeeded. My syringes are only 0.5ml so I had to do two injections but it was remarkably easy and actually the needles aren't that long. I think I was just being dramatic.😂I lost 0.6lbs this week despite not eating much but I haven't been very active this week due to the weather so I don't mind.
I did buy some of those scales that measure body fat and BMI etc, but they were an absolute faff to set up, and the icons which explained what each percentage was were so small that I couldn't see them when I was standing on the scales. To add insult to injury they weighed me 1.4lbs heaver than my other electronic scales. I going to try and return them! If anyone has a recommendation for smart scales which are user friendly do let me know.

I've got these. The display on the scales itself just gives me my weight and then they Bluetooth to an app for all the other stats. If you aren't connected to the app when you weigh they just store all your data in the scales until you do.

@Cantbesure I think the whole maintenance program idea is evolving and developing. It is certainly a market that the manufacturer will want to develop

I reckon by the time I have lost another 3 stone there will be lots of pharmacies offering it.

so I am going to watch and wait for now

This week I've lost the grand total of...... half a pound.
Slightly disappointed though not surprised, I've definitely been feeling hungrier this week though I've still tried to eat well. Need to do better with my water intake. I think I'm going to order the next pen in the 7.5 dose and hang the expense.

In other better news I've finally hit the 2 stone mark! I'm still firmly in the obese category but it's progress I guess.

2 stone in just a couple of months is phenomenal

namechangedyetagain · 12/01/2025 14:38

I started on November 2nd and so glad I did; even though I'm feeling very poor. If I could lose 1 more stone to take me in to the 14s I'd be super happy. Realistically I don't think I'll ever be below that without looking quite ill and losing my curves which I'm happy to keep - just not so much of them!!!

Cantbesure · 12/01/2025 15:24

It looks like oushk is the most forward thinking on maintenance plans at the moment. With 3 different packages - flex, titrating down, and continuing on the same dose. And they will accept people
With a BMI of over 25 if already on WLI. Be interesting to see if other suppliers compete in this space.

I used to use Clarins body lift - but I’m sceptical that a cream can tighten body skin. I’d just keep the skin really hydrated. I also use Aveeno which is often on offer on Ocado. It’s reasonably priced and does the job. For a luxurious treat, Clarins comforting silky body cream is just divine. I like the Eau ressourcante scent. Be warned though, it is as addictive as crack (not that I’ve tried that but you get the gist) 😂

Thanks for the recommendation-totally up for skin crack 😂😂😂😅

will also check out Aveeno,

well done on the cream dress win 💪

I did 8 weeks on 2.5, and started on 5 this weekend

I am 26lbs down, and feel really well. I took another full length picture this morning, and can definitely see the difference.

i have 2 issues .. I burp a lot, and, food seems to take a long time to get down my oesophagus, which can be very uncomfortable

Re: maintenance, this article was in the Mail today - interesting reading:-

Ozempic didn't work for me because I kept making this big mistake.
By RHIANNON DOYLE FOR THE MAIL ON SUNDAY
Published: 16:47, 11 January 2025 | Updated: 16:48, 11 January 2025
My patient was in pieces. A 52-year-old mother of three, who we’ll call Lisa, told me between sobs that she felt like a failure. Like many women, Lisa had struggled with her weight for years.
It had left her self-conscious. And, worst of all, no diet or exercise programme had worked.
Then hope finally arrived in the form of revolutionary weight-loss jabs – originally an off-label use of the diabetes treatment Ozempic and later including Wegovy and Mounjaro.
Lisa began the weekly appetite-suppressing injections early last year, which she bought from an online pharmacy. And for six months it worked – she was eating smaller, healthier meals and managed to lose around three stone.

Rhiannon Doyle is pictured in 2019- before her weight-loss regime
However, once she reached a weight she was comfortable with, Lisa made a big mistake – she stopped the jabs. And within months her weight ballooned.
She had come to us desperate, saying she needed the medication again.
It’s a story we often hear at Slimmr, the private weight-loss clinic that I co-founded. Patients reach their goal weight and feel good about themselves. Then, because of the initial success, they decide the drugs have done their job and simply stop taking them.
In nearly every case their weight goes back up. Then they start on the injections again and the whole cycle repeats.
We call it ‘the Ozempic yo-yo’ because it’s just like the long-standing problem of yo-yo dieting, where people go through a pattern of repeatedly losing and then regaining weight.
Those unable to get a prescription for weight-loss jabs on the NHS often turn to online pharmacies, but don’t get any specialist advice with it. So they are deciding for themselves when it is right to stop taking the jabs, which leads to the weight regain.
It’s demoralising, unhealthy, psychologically damaging and often an expensive waste of money. It’s also something I personally feel strongly about, because I went through a very similar experience.
In my 20s I was naturally tall and slim and didn’t really have to worry about my weight at all.
But in my 30s, things changed. Although I live in London, I come from a large Welsh family where food was so much more than just fuel – it was used for comfort and for celebration.
I’d always been fond of a drink, pints of lager and pale ale in particular, and as the years progressed the weight started to pile.
At my heaviest I weighed 16 stone and was a size 18. I was officially obese and my GP warned that my cholesterol was too high.

Rhiannon, seen today, now weighs nine and a half stone after taking Mounjaro this year
I tried hard to diet and exercise, but nothing helped. So I panicked and looked for a quick fix.
In January 2023 I found an online pharmacy that sold me Ozempic with no questions asked. I started taking weekly injections, gradually building up the dose.
It cost between £180 and £280 a month but was well worth it. The ‘food noise’ disappeared – all those maddening thoughts about eating. Within a year I’d lost three and a half stone and dropped to a size 14.
I still had more weight to lose but I felt I could do it by myself.
So I just stopped the injections. But within weeks I could feel myself falling back into old habits, into comfort eating and procrastination eating.
By the end of the month I’d regained about half a stone – so I restarted the jabs. And that was the cycle. I would lose weight, stop treatment, put weight back on again, repeat.
In recent years, medicines such as Wegovy and Mounjaro have transformed obesity management. They work by using an appetite-suppressant known as a glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonist (GLP-1). Studies show that obese patients taking GLP-1 injections can lose up to 20 per cent of their body weight within a year.
However research also shows that more than half who come off the drugs regain at least two-thirds of the weight they lost. Nearly one in five put all the weight back on – or even exceed it.
This is in large part due to patients who stop the medication and see their appetite come back with a vengeance. It’s thought this happens because, after a dramatic weight loss, the body believes it is starving, which triggers intense hunger pains. There’s even a term for it: rebound hunger.
Now many experts warn that GLP-1 patients will need to stay on the injections for life. The doctors I work with at the Slimmr clinic think there is a solution which allows patients to eventually stop taking the jabs.
Once our patients reach their desired weight, they are switched to a much lower ‘maintenance’ dose which is roughly half of their previous dose. It means they stop losing weight but also don’t put any back on either.
Crucially, it gives the body time to get used to its new weight so it no longer believes it is starving. Most of our patients stay on this maintenance dose for about a year, then stop the jabs completely.
We combine this treatment with exercise classes, psychological support and the option of specialist dieticians and psychotherapy.
It’s important to note that using these small doses is still an experimental practice, as there are no clinical trials looking at its effect. And it’s certainly something that patients should never try without medical supervision.
However our patients have had fantastic results. And I have also benefited from the approach.
In February I started taking a weekly injection of Mounjaro, and I gradually built up the dose. Not only did I shed the weight I’d regained, I also lost more – and now weigh nine and a half stone. And in October I switched to a weekly maintenance dose, which I’m planning to stay on for half a year.
It means I can stay the same weight without having to think very hard about it. I enjoy food. I enjoy cooking. I enjoy going out for meals. I just don’t have cravings.
It’s lovely when people say: ‘Oh, you look really great,’ and I feel more confident about myself. But the real benefit is my health.
Rhiannon Doyle is co-founder of the Slimmr private weight-loss clinic (getslimmr.co.uk).

@Mounjaropen that is a very interesting read. Thanks for sharing x

jaromoun · 13/01/2025 07:05

i'm definitely at the point where i'm thinking about maintenance. i'm just over half way to where i want to be but now by bmi is overweight rather than obese.
i've contacted cloud and oushk to ask about their prescribing policy for maintenance so i can maybe swap from voy now.
oushk just sent me info about how to swap so i'll see what cloud say.
i reckon by easter i'll be at goal weight but i know i will need the jabs for a long time to prevent rebound as i have no will power or ability to self regulate. if i did i wouldn't have needed the jabs in the first place!

Cantbesure · 13/01/2025 07:35

It sounds like we are in a similar place @jaromoun Now I know that oushk will take with a BMI of 25 I'm going to do a month with a cheaper supplier (zava for me) and then probably move over. Others might have moved in to maintenance plans by then too. It's going to be a big market and they will want the 💰 I'm sure.

Mounjaropen · 13/01/2025 08:05
