Daily weigher here as I am on Team RH. Been plodding along losing a little each day this week, yesterday I was down 2lbs for the week and happy with that. Today its shot up by 1.6lbs and no clue why. I know I've not had above 1200 calories any day this week and some days it's been less. Tempted to go with my yesterday weigh in for this week.
Taking my 8th jab today. My next pen is also a 5mg.
If going on yesterday's weigh in total loss in 7 weeks is 15lbs. I expected and hoped for more but I'll take it. I need to start doing weights again I've only been walking for exercise. Feeling a bit disheartened and at the point where I'd normally eat myself happy cos what's the point? I won't obvs but the initial motivation is wearing off a bit today.

I think 15lbs in 7 weeks is brilliant! That’s over a stone in less than 2 months! Keep going, you’re consistently loosing which is how you’ll get to your end goal. I’ve only ever lost 2 lbs a week or less but I’m getting there! 💪🏼

StarShapedWindow · 10/01/2025 13:37

@Mounjaropen so frustrating not to have lost when you’ve put such effort in but I’m sure you’ll get a woosh and also I expect with all your exercise your building muscle which is brilliant! Thanks so much for sharing those recipes and good luck with the emails!

@Goldleafcat I also have a huge cookbook collection and have just had to have a huge cull because the new ones I got for Christmas wouldn’t fit into the book shelf (not even lying flat on top of the books already on the shelf!) I hope I hope I haven’t been too brutal.

I have just watched this video. 50 mins long but very informative.
Covers how Mounjaro works and the positive effects on Liver, brain, heart, and fat cells. Also covers why it’s important to exercise.
Bonus = the gentleman explaining everything is very easy on the eye 😉

Thank you for sharing this - so informative and now I feel even better about taking MJ!

JasonTindallsTan · 10/01/2025 15:12

Suppression really high today after taking 7.5ish last night. I’ve not eaten anything at all, just not even thought about it. Realised with a start that if not had anything and making some lunch now.

What is considered a ‘therapeutic’ dose? Is it 10? 15? What’s the top again?

Goldleafcat · 10/01/2025 17:01

@StarShapedWindow it’s difficult to know isn’t it! I think ultimately it was the right thing to do as I had so many (still have loads…). I’ve started getting digital recipe books from time to time, but it never quite feels the same! Somehow more faffy to use a digital cookery book in comparison to reading a novel for example (though the prices can be very good value).

Dreamqueen · 10/01/2025 17:26

Weigh day for me, 1lb loss taking my total to 16lbs since begining of November. Thank you so much for this thread, it's kept me motivated and I've learnt so much about so many random things. I have the hairy dieters books and the Tom Kerridge ones so I'm about to dig them out of the cookbook cupboard for inspiration.
@Mounjaropen How hard is the pvolve? Older (65) non exercising sloth here. I used to do gym getting ready for my 50th and have just realised that was 15 years ago :)

Novjaro · 10/01/2025 17:43

Thanks everyone for all the useful links and info. This is such a brilliant community to be part of 😊.

I’m nearly 10 weeks in and 20lbs down which seems unreal. Took my first 7.5 on Wednesday and had a bit of a windy night yesterday but nowhere near as bad as I was at the beginning of the 5. I’ve been talking Omeprazole though which I think is really helping. It was prescribed as I’m on steroids for a few months for asthma/recurrent chest infections but I’d definitely look into seeing if you can get it if you’re struggling with side effects.

Onwards and downwards, and have great weekends everybody.

Ooh some lovely recipe ideas thanks @Mounjaropen

Those of you on 7.5mg or with diarrhea and vomiting side effects....how long did they take to calm down?

I'm away for work next week and the thought of having to hide in bathroom for a couple of hours in pain is not something I want to risk. Debating either skipping my dose next week or counting the clicks to just give myself 5mg. Anyone have any experience?

I had an uncomfortable night of indigestion and burping after the 1st 7.5 but that was all

PandasMum · 10/01/2025 18:19

10 weeks today and exactly 2.5 stone / 35lbs. It’s taken a long time for me to really believe this is happening so I’m really happy 😃

BagQueenBee · 10/01/2025 18:22

Start date 22/11/24
Weekly update

End Week 7 - 1lb loss
Total lost 22 1/2lbs
Jab number 8 done of my first 5mg pen, 2 to go including bonus dose, which I do with syringe.

Good week, no real issues, a little sick feelings but no real problem, excellent suppression, and I’m enjoying my healthy food choices…… feeling great😁

Weekly weigh in:

SW: 19st 9lbs
CW:17st 12lbs
1st GW: 17st 13lbs
2nd GW 15st 4lbs
TL: 1st 11lb

That new goal does feel a long way off but everything seems to be moving at a really good pace still, so fingers crossed.

I just realised it's a bonus dose day, so I need to psych myself up for the needle, instead of the pen, again 🤢

Hope it went well 💪 great to get used to doing it and 👏 well done on smashing your first goal - inspiring!

Congrats on the losses!

Pvolve is hard, but all Pilates done properly is. However, they do offer lower/easier impact options for all the classes. Not gonna lie, I found it REALLY hard at the start but I had literally done nothing for the past 3 years of this ilk, However, today I pressed pause on my final challenge of the week thinking I was may be 15mins into a 31 min class to find I was 23 mins in! It is low impact so great for us older people. They chat a lot about building bone density/muscle build in the classes which is exactly what is needed. Not sure if there is any free content available that you can look at? Classes are all lengths from 10mins onwards. I started with the beginners challenge which was helpful to ensure I had good posture and could use the equipment properly. It was designed to help rehabilitation after injury so I reckon you would be fine assuming you don’t select the hardest classes!

Weigh in today. I’ve lost about 10lb after 8 doses. Did 5 weeks on 2.5, now 3 on 5mg. Can’t say I notice much suppression anymore at the moment. I have another 5mg pen lined up because I’ve got some injection site side effects every time, but wish I’d ordered a 7.5. slow and steady is ok with me though, as only have another 10lb then that’s something I’d be happy with, a bit more would be great

I totally feel like it’s a long way off for me too, I started at 28 stone so it’s a massive amount for me to lose.

Im 2 weeks behind you, and already feel so much better for 22 1/2lb off…… we got this 😁Your doing great…

I too do bonus dose, and was honestly surprised how easy i found it with syringe…. I was dreading it, but was ok.

Goldleafcat · 10/01/2025 19:29

I’m currently in ‘ignorance is bliss’ phase as I haven’t been able to weigh myself since last Sunday. Have had a mixed week of food - some days a nice salad and have lots of soup, however I’ve also indulged in stuff like hospital canteen chips and a number of breakfast bits from Costa as the week has gone on! Still in hospital tonight but hoping we can go home tomorrow.

Looking forward to my own bed and hopefully slightly better sleep (was a tad sleep deprived yesterday and accidentally threw a pair of earrings in the bin! Realised about 10 mins later then had fun digging through the teabags and other crap in the bin in the shared kitchen area).

Gettingbysomehow · 10/01/2025 19:39

I am so bored with food this week. Everything I eat tastes as boring as heck. There is nothing I want. I think I'm going to spend next week on slimfast it will be less tedious.
This is a person who chomps continually when not on MJ.

namechangedyetagain · 10/01/2025 19:48

What a week! I had a chocolate from the celebrations tin yesterday. Pretty sure I won't have lost anything this week when I weigh on Sunday (not down to the chocolate!). Feel so bloated today, don't think I've over eaten but I have noticed that I'm much more hungry this week. Have even had tummy rumbling noises. The fancy for sweet stuff if starting to come back. Am on my second 5mg pen and have a couple of doses left. Wondering if I need to move to 7.5mg soon. Really didn't want the extra expense just yet. I'll report back with weekly weigh in on Sunday but I'm not hopeful for a loss this week.

Methemummy · 10/01/2025 20:50

Weigh in day here too! I lost 3lbs, having been on here last week complaining around christmas weight gain and feeling down a 2 weeks later. It's all gone plus some.

I am down down 13.4lbs since the start of November. I stated at 16 stone exactly, so next weigh in, I am thrilled my weight will start with a 14! Something i haven't seen in a very long time, i would guess around 6 years.

I spent today plotting my weekly weigh in / injections on shotsy and noticed a pattern. At the end of week 3 I gained when taking both 2.5mg & 5mg. I then loose a little by end of week 4 and then a big drop when I take a stronger dose.

My thoughts behind this I have more food noise as the body becomes acclimatised to the MJ. So I am going to try and really be mindful of this in week 3 of 7.5mg to see if I can break the cycle. Sadly I think it confirms what i always thought that I am someone who needs to keep moving up.

Seeing this has strangely really helped me feel more motivated.

Currently recovering with a pinot grigio! I'm incredibly squeamish so it's testament to how much I want this to work that I'm not just managing the pen but 'proper' injections for the bonus dose too!

JasonTindallsTan · 10/01/2025 21:05

ive had to give DH half of my tea as I couldn’t eat any more. I don’t think this has ever happened before in my life.

Amelanchier · 10/01/2025 22:10

W9D3 and still on 5mg. Burps started today for the first time, not too eggs but not nice. Just out of obese stage2 and into stage1. A small bump/plateau over Christmas but back on the way down again. I am finding appetite suppression ok, no real desire for sweet stuff or alcohol, but I do eat a couple of ok sized meals a day and no snacks. I suspect burps are because the last few family meals have been a bit carb heavier than normal.
