What I'm enjoying about the very well deserved thanks and appreciation for @Mounjaropen is that it reads like we're all thanking both the user and the pen itself!

I’m back from holiday and after being off mounjaro for 2 of the 3 weeks and feeling like it had gone well I am up 3 kilos. But I am due my period and have also been taking period delay medication and feel extra bloated. So hoping the real damage is closer to 1kg and the rest is period, bloat and salty food.

Ugh, spent all day feeling sickish, having diarrhoea and shivering despite all the heating being on. I’d be surprised if it’s a MJ reaction 3 days after jabbing and after no previous side effects, so either a bug or I’m allergic to being back at work.

Hope you feel better today 💐

Here you all are- I lost you :).

Christmas period has been a disaster 😣

Hope you are ok. Do you want to tell us what happened? It’s normal to fall off the wagon during festive periods. I think most of us did!

Is anyone else having insomnia with Mounjaro?

I had vivid dreams, which has now turned into insomnia!

Goldleafcat · 07/01/2025 07:36

Morning all, fab to read all your updates, and well done on all the losses / maintenance over the festive period!

I put weight on over Christmas which I’ve just about managed to lose, so it was hopefully just a blip. It comes but once a year after all. Imagine if we hadn’t started our weight loss journeys when we did. I dread to think what my scales would be saying!

I’m feeling calmer now, my little boys op went well yesterday. An all day effort and he was on the ward for 7pm. Mixed night but he’s just had some Gruffalo biscuits (and fed me some too) so that’s good 😊

Not sure how I will fare with canteen / costa coffee food etc this week but will try to make half decent choices at least some of the time.

And definitely agree with PP, @Mounjaropen has been an amazing source of positivity and strength. And fantastic skincare tips too! Thanks for making this thread thrive.

Week 10 jab done. Weigh in this morning - another 2lb this week.

SW 15 stone 12lbs /100.1 kg

CW 13 stone 10lbs / 87.1kg

GW 10 stone

Total loss 2 stone 2lb / 13.6 kg

My BMI has dropped from 40.9 to 35.3. I was last this weight in 2012!

RayonSunrise · 07/01/2025 08:15

Congrats @Pumpkinforever! That's a fantastic result.

I've had a glorious Christmas of eating and drinking whatever I fancied, limited only by my appetite (very suppressed, of course). So my total Christmas & NY result has been to lose 1.5kgs (around 3lbs). Given how much I've been enjoying alllll the treats, I think that's a hell of a good outcome.

Back to real life today, commuting to work and eating more conscientiously. I did manage to do some runs and a couple of strength workouts over Christmas so now I just need to work out how and where I'm going to fit them in now. I'm very impressed by everyone regularly logging thousands of steps AND working out!

RayonSunrise · 07/01/2025 08:25

I've never posted my starting stats, so here goes:

SW: 93kg (14.6 stone)
CW: 85kg (13.3 stone)
GW: 63kg (10 stone)

Slow & steady so far, generally losing around 1kg a week. The exercise will help, though I'm conscious that it's hard to lose weight and build muscle at the same time.

I did the Joe Wicks programme a few years ago and had pretty great results, but got so tired of making special protein-rich fitness meals (which were all written for single servings) and trying to feed my family adequately at the same time. Dieting feels like quite a solitary pursuit. At least the jabs mean we can all eat healthily (if not PERFECTLY for gym body optimisation) and I switch off early enough to keeping heading away from obesity.

I got myself a Fitbit last year @RayonSunrise with the intention of getting fitter etc in Spring 2024 🙄 When I finally started my MJ journey I ‘found’ my Fitbit and have been fanatical in reaching 10,000 steps a day at least 5 days a week.

i will consider a gym or class when I get back from my holiday at the end of January. I would like to do couch to 5k but would prefer to lose another stone /6kg before doing that.

Well done on adding in the muscle focus exercise - so important, especially if you’re menopausal.

I agree about trying to feed everyone and not feel like a short-order cook! I try and put out bowls of food for everyone to help themselves so I’m only cooking once.

Tonight’s menu is pork stroganoff ( pork fillet is lean and an economic cut), a bowl of steamed broccoli, a bowl of rocket and a bowl of either rice or new potatoes. I’ll avoid the carbs but will load up on the greens. I’ve prepped some fresh pineapple with lime zest, lime juice and grated fresh ginger over the top.

Tomorrow we’re having a red Thai curry with leftover roast chicken from yesterday and packed with plenty of veg - I’ll serve mine before adding noodles to the curry for everyone else.

Thursday it’s a cod, red pepper and chorizo dish - (a sort of tomato based stew). I’ll add in some canelli beans to up the fibre content. Carbs will be on the side - probably ciabatta for anyone who wants it.

I’m making a banana/cinnamon loaf later today alongside Nigella’s no-churn coffee ice cream (simple and delicious) which is another family favourite for them to enjoy.

Have a look for any local running groups funded by the council. We have one locally here - operates for free and free to join. It’s track based and really supportive. All ages, shapes and sizes participate!

Aww thank you for checking in. I just predictably put on weight 😣. Having said that I have now lost it again and for the first time in 2 weeks I got the lowest reading on the scales this morning 🙌🏻.
It still feels like a waste though with all the money I’m spending to have lost that time , but hey it was Christmas.

I haven’t checked in in a while because was feeling ashamed of myself, and then I lost the new thread, but I’m back so have a lot to read to catch up on how everyone else is doing now :). Xx

Shame is an emotion we all need to let go of. We’re all human and it was Christmas. The difference now is we’re recognising what is a healthy eating pattern and should be proud of that!

i'm struggling with the nausea on 5mg so haven't moved up to 7.5. i stayed the same over christmas give or take about 500g.
SW 89kg
CW 80kg
GW 70kg

what i have realised over christmas is that i still don't make 'good' choices. i have eaten less but still had creamy cheeses, chocolates, pork crackling, too much wine and gin etc etc. It was just the suppression and nausea that stopped me pigging out completely.

i want to focus now on the quality of the food i'm eating so it becomes a habit to make better choices or i'll just fall back into my old ways.

question about neutracheck - i realised i logged my starting weight incorrectly so all my stats are out. i've tried to add it retrospectively and it says it's logged it but not showing on the stats at all.

any ideas how i can alter it?

We had pork stroganoff for dinner last night as well! I did have rice to try to settle my stomach after yesterday’s issues. I feel cautiously ok this morning but haven’t eaten anything yet.

I don’t think we have to live without creamy cheeses, chocolate and crackling to be thin. We just have to eat less of them or less frequently - which is exactly what you did! Aiming for perfection will just get too overwhelming after a while. Christmas is difficult because it’s all the food (and drink) all at once, but you stayed the same so you can’t have gone too mad. Don’t be too hard on yourself!

jaromoun · 07/01/2025 09:49

@TooExtraImmatureCheddar that's very kind of you.

Cheese is life haha!

i think it was more about how i only didn't over eat because of the medication and how i may need long term maintenance doses it i will quickly slip again even if i'm at goal weight

Happy New Year all! Hope you all had a good Christmas & New Year?

I've blinked and missed 2 threads!!

W7 D5
SW: 16 stone 2lb
CW: 15 stone bang on
GW: 14 stone 7 ish (maybe a nice round 90kg)

Had a good Christmas, as I take my jab on a Thursday Xmas day wasn't ruined as I was right at the end of the suppression and managed canapes, main and even a pudding. I didn't feel the need to have a 2nd plateful which is a first!

I managed to maintain 15st 1lb over the Xmas & NYE break with another 1lb lost last week so really happy with that.

Got to the gym 5 times even managing Boxing Day.
