Has your diet been different?

No not really. A few extra bits over Xmas but I haven’t gone mad. Ive still lost weight the last two weeks. I’ve had the odd bit of chocolate or sweets since starting too within daily calorie allowances.

Today I weight 11st 9lbs, just saw it was your goal but as I'm 5 ft 3 that takes me to bmi 29.5 so I'm still overweight! My starting weight was 13 stones in October bmi 31. I'm a slow loser but happy with that.

Some foods can trigger us on mounjaro. Could it be the Xmas period has done that and maybe see if it goes when you eat clean?

you may have some sort of virus. Sickness bugs can take weeks to clear. In your shoes I’d wait a week or so and try again. 🤞🏼

@Mrsmajeeka Sounds rough! Don't forget that mounjaro has a half life, so it could even be that even though you injected a lower dose you still have more in your system than your body can handle. I've heard a few people come off for a few weeks to reset and then start again on a low dose. Hope you feel better soon though.

Good morning all! My thighs ache horribly this morning, even my arse hurts if I touch it. So clearly 30 low squats was not a good idea. And day off the gym for me. It’s bloody freezing here.

im having that weird thing where the scales aren’t moving much but my body is shrinking. I guess it’s a catch up game, one way or the other..

@Losingthetimber - that sounds painful! I’ve had that feeling before. I’m delighted to see an 11 on the scales this morning! 11 stone 13 and a half. It’s taken forever to dip below 12 stone! I’m thinking that now I’ve finally managed to get up to 5mg maybe it’ll be better. I felt very nauseous on Monday the day after jab day. Suppression is back with a bang - I only managed half a chicken breast and veg last night for dinner. Symparhies to all of you with symptoms at the moment.

Morning all.

I jabbed with 5mg yesterday and half expected the dreadful nausea that I had last week but so far, so good, just that suppression has ramped up again (I had an 8 day gap this time to get me back into my preferred schedule).

I've done no structured exercise since starting MJ but am acutely aware that my muscle bulk has significantly reduced (again, not a surprise, we know that happens). So I've started weight training again - got that lovely achey feeling today but can get off the loo - so all good, must have started back at about the right intensity.

Still the same on the scales after the Christmas/NY period but for the first time in years, I'm not having to contemplate loosing the weight I gained - just continue to build on the work of the end of last year. It feels a really good place.

BMI of 26 with about a stone to go so I think I'll be shifting suppliers now to someone who offers maintenance - I'll still have at least 2 pens to go but I want to move away from ME now anyway so the timing seems to work.

I'm on the maintenance thread but if anyone in this group has thoughts on the best maintenance plan/provider, please do share them.

My bmi is just under 26 now and have 12lbs to go to my original goal weight of 9st 7 (I'm 5'3" and pear shaped). I also moved up to 5mg this week, after a while on 3.75, and have had really good suppression and a 2.2lb whoosh on the scales this morning after a disappointing STS on official weight day Monday.
I've got 14 weeks of dosage to go and hoping to go it alone on lowish carb rather than stay on MJ.

What company are people using for good maintenance? I didn’t want to keep switching companies, and I’m generally happy with who I’ve been using (Well). I have a monthly meeting with a prescriber and they seem really knowledgeable, and maintenance is good, so I’m happy with them. But for my next pen I could get it £70 cheaper according to the monj site. £70 is a lot of money! Think I may have to switch to a cheaper one, but want one with maintenance (although my bmi is currently 33, so it’s not something I need to worry about anytime soon).

@lickycat I have moved to Oushk and am going to use them for my maintenance. I like that they have explored different options for maintenance and seem quite flexible. I am hoping for some kind of month on / month off strategy, and eventually the Flex plan.

Far too scared to go it totally alone as know from past experience I will put the weight back on. Heard on one of my many podcasts that if you have been overweight for several years much more likely to regain the weight than if it was a short term weight gain eg from pregnancy.

Have booked a maintenance call for 5th February, don’t particularly want to speak to anyone but those who have say they have learnt new info so may be useful.
Oushk this week have lowered their prices and I think it has quite competitive pricing, I could only get it about £10 cheaper by shopping around.
What I also like is I am due a delivery of my next pen on Tuesday, I emailed them late this morning to change my dosage and it has already been dealt with.
i also like that I can choose specific date for delivery, though be careful as if you choose DPD as delivery method you have to be home to give them a PIN code.

@Bluenose1966 Maintenance thread wasn't the right phrasing sorry - I should have been clearer that it's the Maintenance Policy thread - lots of fantastic knowledge being shared and in particular from those who are actively researching/contacting the companies and keeping up to date with what is a changing picture as the suppliers seem to be changing their approaches to supporting maintenance. I am more hopeful now that I might too be able to do 1 month on and then off.

I'd hoped to come off altogether as soon as I reach target but then I think about my cycles of losing weight, live event happens, pile it on again - I wonder if a very long if not a lifelong plan might be needed.

It’s my wedding anniversary tomorrow, DH and I have a rare child free long weekend away. I took inspiration from PPs and dug out a dress I’d usually have saved for best and I feel fabulous… and it’s too big now so doubly fabulous NSV for me 🥳

Thank you @Bluenose1966. I’ve had a look at Oushk and now ordered my next pen through them. They aren’t the cheapest, but not far off with their newyear discount code (£30 off). Like I say, I’ve got a way to go until maintenance, but I need someone with good maintenance plans as I think I’m probably on Mounjaro for life now. At least I hope I can be on it for life - I feel free for the first time in my adult life!

I've also switched to Oushk, with maintenance in mind. Only another 5kgs until I have a normal BMI!!!

Mine has been so slow but I've gone up to 7.5mg this week and lost 2lbs. Almost in the 11 stone bracket which I haven't seen for probably 25yrs, since my late teens, exciting for me.

I'm loving my new gym and now finish every 45min workout with a steam, jacuzzi and a few lengths in the pool to wind down, it feels so decadent. The showers are nicer then mine at home.

It's my birthday this week and it is the first time I don't want a special boozy meal to celebrate, so I've treated myself to some new jewellery instead.

@lickycat I will likely go to Oushk. I have another 4.5st to go, so hopefully by that point the maintenance options from various suppliers will be even clearer.

I have changed to Cloud. Their maintenance policy seems good and they were very quick to prescribe. Im on my 6th week of 7.5mg and was hoping not to have to go up any further as I only have another half a stone or so to go. I might take my next one a day early instead. I’ve just eaten too much fudge and now feel rather sick.

I have finally treated myself to a heated throw x x x Sod exercise! I'm never moving from the settee again!! Should have gotten one months ago

This is why I haven't got one, I'm still quite lazy and get up now as I'm cold and move around to get warm. If I was under a heated throw i wouldn't move!

I pity the people who haven’t discovered the joys of a heated throw yet. My muscles turn to liquid under it. I find it soooo relaxing.

I bought a heated throw last Easter time, I always feel the cold even when not on MJ and although our house is ‘warm’ I can be fully dressed in front of a roaring fire with the underfloor heating on and under my heated blanket and just about feel right 😂 so now I’m on MJ I’ve never felt colder - it’s my absolute lifeline, don’t know what I’d do without it to be honest!

@Bluenose1966 I’d be interested in any podcast recommendations you have? I feel likewise, battled weight for years so I suspect I’d be a good candidate for long term maintenance dose
