Crazy we have come this far

Heading to 5mths - that's almost half a year

We have all done so well.

Be proud of ourselves

Yes we have Christmas Day to come but remember that eating a meal and some yummy stuff isn't going to make us all gain the weight back

We have to have some treats or else what is the point in life

Saying we are never going to eat ...... again isn't sustainable

But having one /small portion of something we want is a good thing

We have learnt restraint !!!

To 2025 one and all

Thanks @20bloodypounds we love our 3 days. We are saving for a camper van 😀

I was reading an article today in DM where the journalist has been on WLI for 6 years and she jabs every 2 to 3 weeks and maintains. Hopefully this option will be available depending on the lifespan of the pens. X

Fuffedoff · 26/12/2024 17:04

Evening!

I hope you are all well and had a lovely Christmas!

This is the first year that I can remember in a long while, where it has felt so chilled out and stressed free compared to every other year.

The difference being it was just me, OH and my DS and we didn't have to follow anyone else's plans.

I've really enjoyed myself.

I took my last jab on Monday and boy did I know about it.

We went out for dinner on Xmas eve and I had hunters chicken. I did order a dessert (sticky toffee pudding) but after half of it, I decided I didn't like it and gave it to my OH.

I then woke in the middle of night with 💩... I must have been about 12 times yesterday. I loaded myself with immodium and most likely will go the other way now.

But, my weight loss did increase to a 1.8kg total for this month because of it all, so I'll take that 😂😂.

We went out for our Christmas dinner to an Indian yesterday and it was lush! It was a three course meal but I did not overindulge and balanced everything out. I left quite a bit actually as I got full quite easily.

And then today, we've been to the cinema to watch Mufasa- it's really good! And then we went to Burger King after where I probably ate half a portion of chips as I just didn't fancy anything else.

My taste buds are so weird at the moment and there are a lot of foods I no longer fancy or I feel like they taste funny.

I've been really good with Christmas chocolate too! I think I've had 5 Lindor in total which is good going for me haha.

4pink1blue · 26/12/2024 17:46

Checking in! Such a lot to catch up on. Had a great day yesterday...didn't overdo it but still enjoyed myself. I don't drink so no alcohol calories but I did have a yummy dessert. Tomorrow is weigh day but I think I'll skip it (haha)
I felt fabulous in my Xmas day outfit...was nice to have a choice as for the last few years it's been the same size 24 jersey xmas dress lol 😆
Please excuse the dirty mirror!

@NippyCrab you looked amazing!!!!

@FlappingMadly I'm so so sorry for your loss I hope you had some nice time remembering him x

@4pink1blue you look amazing too I love the boots!

I was due to jab on Xmas eve but didn't so I'm going to do it on a minute. The two days after I usually eat very little so I wanted to make sure I wasn't sat with nothing!

I had a few treats but to be honest not much else. I've probably not had a ridiculous amount of calories but not much nutritious food either.

I've just had a bowl of fat free Greek yogurt with some hot cranberry and orange sauce I made. I've also had some of the raspberry and pistachio granola I made for Xmas.
It's delicious but has pretty much a full bottle of maple syrup in so probably not the best for calories!

Anyway back onto some healthy stuff tomorrow.

I agree with what someone else said about other people's portions. I couldn't believe how much my bil ate on Xmas day!

Blondeshavemorefun · 26/12/2024 20:30

Oh @NippyCrab that's tough ((squeezes through phone)

What does he do

@Fuffedoff sorry about 💩💩💩💩

@4pink1blue no skipping wi tomorow

I'm still going to as it's a weekly thing and weight does go up and down

I'm hoping for a sts. I will prob gain - hopefully not more then 2lbs

And @4pink1blue twit fucking twoo !!!

@troppibambini6 agree some portions are huge !!!

Blondeshavemorefun · 26/12/2024 20:37

So it's WWJ tomorrow

I'm gonna weigh as no point not and when I gain least means next week I will lose

This is dress no 2 - I actually found it in wardrobe I wore it maybe 8yrs ago

For a wedding

It had a belt with it. The loops where I wore or are much too big and old belt size was too loose now

Therefore I am slimmer now then I was 8yrs abo

Which obv I know

Also means the black dress I bought for Xmas I didn't wear

I'm back from visiting family so have just eaten a few Lebkuchen for tea. They're the only food item I look forward to at Christmas.

I couldn't eat all of my Christmas day lunch but I did have a small slice of cheesecake afterwards. I didn't want anything else but about 8pm, son's girlfriend appeared with some brownies she'd made so I ate one even though every bite was a struggle.

Oddly enough, I've felt quite hungry today. Had to stop at the motorway services on the way home for a sandwich as I felt shaky and peculiar. Probably due to eating a lot of sweet stuff (compared to how I've been eating recently).

Back to 'normal for mounjaro' eating tomorrow.

Hope you're all having a lovely festive break 😊.

NippyCrab · 26/12/2024 21:44

@troppibambini6 thank you 😊 and I need the granola recipe and I'd also like the cranberry and orange sauce too haha. I seem to have a bit of an addiction to cranberry lately.xx
@4pink1blue wow! You look stunning, 👀 😍 xx
@Blondeshavemorefun as little as he can haha! They do various projects, they are doing a fish farm at the moment xx
@Fuffedoff snap with the Indian yesterday, i ate what I could and was full after half! The taste bud changes are so weird, mine have gone off a lot and craving other things. Xx

AugustMounjaroTeam · 26/12/2024 22:02

Lost my final 0.2lb for Christmas Eve weigh in to take me to exactly 3 stone off, yay! Have enjoyed my two days sensibly with a few small treats - much more than when I stuff my face, to be honest - and am actually chomping to get back to normal eating tomorrow.

Will do my usual Saturday weigh in, if it’s gone up a bit that’s fine, can’t think it will be much - how refreshing and relaxing this is. This will be the first new year I’m going in to for a very long time happy with myself, even if I’ve still got a fair bit to go.

troppibambini6 · 26/12/2024 22:24

@NippyCrab I'm not sure you will thank me for it!!!

Cranberry and orange is basically
2 bags of cranberries
Half a glass of of oj or the juice of two oranges
Zest of an tangerine
Enough sugar for it taste sweet
Put in a pan and cook til the cranberries fall apart

I warm it and add to Greek yogurt.

Granola

Oats (I use three quarters oats to a quarter nuts)
Any nuts (I use flaked almonds, bashed up hazelnuts, pecans and pistachios)
Chopped raspberries
Maple syrup (enough to make the mixture wet I used most of a bottle)
Chia seeds
Bake until it's goes golden brown keep an eye on it but about ten minutes then turn (stir it once) on about 180/200
Make sure it's stone cold before putting it in a tub/jar to store or it goes soggy.

You can pretty much swap in any fruit/nuts/seeds.

My kids love it too and have it with fresh fruit and vanilla yogurt.

troppibambini6 · 26/12/2024 22:25

@AugustMounjaroTeam I totally know what you mean I feel ready to get back to normal eating too!

owlyboo · 26/12/2024 22:51

Rant... completely unrelated to WL or MJ...

My selfish exh text earlier to see if it would be an 'issue' to drop the kids back sat instead of Sunday this weekend. He hasn't had the kids since 8th dec. (popped in for 2 hours Xmas day morning)

DS worships the ground he walks on so when I told him he was sad and asked why I said no idea (I just text back yes that's fine I can't be arsed to explain to someone why they should adore having their children... he's been off since 20th and not back until 6th, I said from the start if you'd like the kids anymore than your usual 4 nights a month then just ask... obviously he didn't) anyway he then called his dad and asked why and he nonchalantly said 'I'm going on holiday' about the 7th with the OW since we split 2 years ago... I bet you can guess how many he's taken the kids on... 0!!

Sorry to rant. But I don't discuss it with anyone in RL as I don't feel the point it is what it is but god is disappointing Angry

owlyboo · 26/12/2024 22:52

Oh and to add he doesn't actually have the kids yet! Getting them after lunch tomorrow

ChunkyMunky · 26/12/2024 23:13

Merry Christmas fabulous August bunch. Hope you have all had a lovely time.

@owlyboo sorry your ex is being such a tosser. Fortunately, your children have you, and you are wonderful.

Everyone is looking lovely in their photos. No pictures of me I’m afraid, as I’m the only person that ever bothers taking photos. I have felt good in my clothes though, so that was nice.

I stuck with my usual 5mg this week, although did inject a day late (Monday instead of Sunday) just because it’s been so chaotic that I lost track of where I was up to. Have felt good, no unpleasant side effects for a while and decent suppression. Have had small portions and not really felt particularly tempted by anything else. Had a couple of glasses of wine yesterday, expected to drink more but just had enough after 2 so stopped.

Have been staying with family but looking forward to getting home and getting settled after the busy-ness of the last month. Feeling somewhat daunted by the sheer quantity of food that is in the house, but going to try and give away as much as possible. Have already offloaded a few cakes and a couple of boxes of chocolate.

Absolutely loving my Mounjaro results, not just for the weight loss (although that is brilliant) but also because I feel free-d from the constant urge to eat for pleasure, and it is so liberating.

Looking forward to 2025, no resolutions from me because I’m feeling good, so I’m just going to keep going, and appreciate where I am.

Motnight · 26/12/2024 23:15

Been away for Xmas and just got home a few hours ago.

Ate ok. Definitely more calories than usual but I had an off switch and was able to stop. Drank a fair amount of alcohol - Mounjaro hasn't taken away my love of bubbles!

Did a couple of long walks and felt healthier than I did this time last year .

Fairly certain a relative has clocked that I am on WLI, asked me several times why I wasn't eating lots and then regaled me with stories of people she knows who had "halved their weight by injections". I just smiled and nodded at her.

Mounjuro August starters - thread 10 !!!!
owlyboo · 26/12/2024 23:19

@ChunkyMunky feel exactly the same about New Year's resolutions! We've already done the hard work!

And thanks, I was at mum and dads today and when I told my mum she cried as she was so angry and sad for my DS (my other child couldn't give a crap, has given up and is just glad she has one less night there) I don't have that kind of emotion anymore for it I just think it's so bloody awful that you can go from being a dad in a marriage etc. with your kids full time to be happy to check out to 4 nights a month if they're lucky and be a 'single' thirty something in an exciting new relationship where you can come and go as you please...

But I would rather be where we are than back there and the kids are so much better for it so bring on 2025!!

ChunkyMunky · 26/12/2024 23:35

It’s strange isn’t it @owlyboo, but not uncommon. My ex sees DD once every 2/3 months, we split up when she was tiny so it’s normal to her and she’s never questioned why he doesn’t see her more often. I quite like it to be honest, I always feel a bit lost when she’s gone. Goodness knows how I’ll manage when she grows up and leaves home!

Hopefully your DS bounces back from the disappointment quickly, it sounds like your DD has already got the right idea.

owlyboo · 27/12/2024 00:24

@ChunkyMunky same, hence why I didn't even bother to say anything when he asked for one less day. I hate the kids not being here.

Unfortunately kids were older with the split here, DD in secondary and Ds middle primary so hit a lot harder for them but you can't make a person want something I tired for a good year but I've given up. I'd rather them here so if that's what he'd rather great!

owlyboo · 27/12/2024 00:24

Also sorry yours is also a bit shit @ChunkyMunky

NippyCrab · 27/12/2024 08:52

Morning, @owlyboo urgh what a twunt! They both deserve to shit hedgehogs all holiday 😒

I forgot to weigh and already had coffee, apparently I've put on 2.5lbs so I'm discounting that lol 😆

CrazyGoatLady · 27/12/2024 09:04

@owlyboo and @ChunkyMunky boo hiss to shite men. My dad also didn't bother much once he remarried and had a second family, but guess who is the one leaned on most now he's older and ill! I agree with @NippyCrab about the hedgehog shitting!

Blondeshavemorefun · 27/12/2024 09:25

@poppym12 sounds similar to me - tho I had baileys cream cookies last night. Jeez yummy but def alcoholic

@AugustMounjaroTeam well done for loss and to 3s

@NippyCrab that must be really hard - I take it he does far away projects rather then Local

@owlyboo you rant away. All here for you . Ex is a twat. Men do walk away. Carry on with their lives and don't think about their kids

Guessing he has them every other weekend

Ans this time having dFri lunch to sat evening

Poor kids tho sounds they aren't bothered

I agree it's sad they go from every day seeing to 2/3 a week or even 2/3 a month

I try and include ex into Xmas stuff for dd. She had a great Xmas as saw us both 24/25/26

Tue is his night but he agreed she could stay with me 24th for fc - so I said she could stay at his 25th

It's nice for kids to see both parents Xmas day but understand not everybody can manage this

Obv this was my first Xmas apart

Who knows what will happen next year

@ChunkyMunky you need to do a selfie

@Motnight sounds like a good Xmas. Ans hope you enjoyed the bubbles

Mj hasnt taken away my love for crisps

I've said before I don't get the no appeal for bad stuff that others have

Shit hedgehogs. That's a new one for me 😂😂😂

Wow thread ten! Glad to find you again and hope you’ve had a lovely Xmas. I’ve found avoiding over eating easy over the past few days to be honest, and if the scales are to be believed I’ve had a good loss this week but don’t officially weigh til tomorrow. NSVs including wearing size 14 clothes - haven’t done that in years. Will update with hopeful loss tomorrow!
