Crazy we have come this far

Heading to 5mths - that's almost half a year

We have all done so well.

Be proud of ourselves

Yes we have Christmas Day to come but remember that eating a meal and some yummy stuff isn't going to make us all gain the weight back

We have to have some treats or else what is the point in life

Saying we are never going to eat ...... again isn't sustainable

But having one /small portion of something we want is a good thing

We have learnt restraint !!!

To 2025 one and all

Good morning everyone. Did my weigh in. Have lost another 2 lbs. Am feeling hungry for the last week. Have one more dose of my second 10 mg pen to take. I think that after that I might need to go up to 12.5 😞. I am trying to see if I can deal with the hunger if that makes sense but am very nervous about it and worried that I will go back to old habits.

I have also had a bad cold and cough since before New Year. Feeling a bit down in general, probably because of my cold.

Right! Off to read the updates from you lovely lot 🙂

NippyCrab · 07/01/2025 07:43

@CrazyGoatLady I was reading it was a virus from China with the most awful cough, take it easy so your body recovers. I'm the exact same with my arse! I was watching the Nerd gym videos last night so will start a beginner one this week with bodyweight exercises.

We were up at 6am with knob dog, I'm just waiting on it getting light and I'll go a walk, somewhere with no other walkers 😂

NippyCrab · 07/01/2025 07:45

@Motnight fab loss, hope you pick up and feel better. My fear is also the snacking the 3.75 is fine for suppressing so many days but the 4.17 (50 clicks) was too much for me 😂😂 it's trying to get a balance to get to goal then wean off. Xx

FlappingMadly · 07/01/2025 07:46

Sounds awful @CrazyGoatLady 💐
Hope you feel better soon.

MargoLivebetter · 07/01/2025 08:29

Sorry to hear you have been poorly too @CrazyGoatLady . I didn't get costochondritis but my ribs ached all the way around to my spine from coughing. It was a really nasty bug.

Blondeshavemorefun · 07/01/2025 09:13

@Motnight 2lb loss. Well done. That's why I went up to 12.5 aa was getting hungry /no suppression at all in last few weeks of it

Was on it for 2pens so 10w

How long been on 10?

@NippyCrab 🦀🦀 poor knob dog 🙀🙀😂😂🐶

Assume not the gorgeous girl but the bad boy

Admittedly I'm on 8.5 and haven't gone up yet but don't realy have had the suppression talked about on here. I have aversions - eg where we were in NL loaded fries were offered everywhere, which was a hard no, bleugh 🤢
But can always eat. MJ makes it easy to not eat if that makes sense and also my.body is doing what it should in a calorie deficit.

Blondeshavemorefun · 07/01/2025 10:05

Tbh @FlappingMadly it wasn't till I tried 10 that I actually had suppression some days

I eat 3 meals a day

Tho sunday I did leave half my roast

But rare.

I usually finish meals tho smaller portions obviously

Hi all and Happy New Year.

Im still plodding along on my 3.75 and although had some gains over Christmas/New Year and definitely didn’t manage much clean eating, over a 3 week period I dropped 5lb.
I’m about a stone off my original target, which I never imagined was realistic, and now thinking of giving myself a lower target.

Also planning to make a real effort to tone up and will be starting c25k soon.

Although I’ve shrunk, I’m still only fitting into my 16s comfortably although have some smaller sizes that fit ok-ish.

Azuresky68 · 07/01/2025 10:52

@CrazyGoatLady sorry to hear you have been so poorly. Hope you are soon on the mend. Well done getting to maintenance! Can I ask you about Ousch for maintenance please? I have signed up and had my consultation with a view to starting end of if you could advis I caused a stir on the Maintenance thread, because I genuinely thought that when I signed up you had to agree not to order from anyone else, seems I was wrong and that worries me too...how could I imagine that! Anyway I am still confused about maintenance and still not sure who to go with. I don't just suddenly want to stop but want to keep the option of going back on after so many losses and regains over the years. To lose my last half a stone I have decided to go up to 12.5, but what about tapering down? When you are feeling better and if you have the time, I would be grateful if you can tell me about maintenance please. Get well soon 😊

weaseleyes · 07/01/2025 11:40

@Usernamechangeforthis12 a 5lb loss over the last three weeks sound ace!

I spend much time fretting about maintenance, even though I have ages to go (why yes, I am a chronic over-thinker). Policy seems to have shifted rapidly even since August, so it will be interesting to see what happens next. I'm glad that some of you are pioneers who go before me! Whilst I don't think I did anything too terrible over Christmas, it was a definite insight - should I need one - into the fact that I am not somehow cured of obesity, and that I'd find it quite easy to slip back into eating lots of the wrong stuff.

I agree with @FlappingMadly that I have more aversion than suppression. The thought of some foods revolts me even more than usual - even ones I'm not going to eat! Some things I don't have actual cravings for (though felt these sneaking back a bit over the last couple of weeks), but could eat quite easily once I started. Generally I just give myself a small meal, tell myself that's it, and find myself easier to obey than usual, even though I feel I could eat a bit more.

owlyboo · 07/01/2025 12:21

@Blondeshavemorefun I have been sick a couple of times on 12.5 and have been more gippy. Nothing horrendous but a few times a day I find myself gagging. Almost like a very mild morning sickness. (But happens at random times of the day.) But other symptoms have been much better (no constipation!!)

@Azuresky68 I would take a STS a win!

@FlappingMadly I'm sure it'll be gone soon!

@MargoLivebetter @CrazyGoatLady sorry you've been poorly! Rubbish

Well done on the run @SilverSprings510 I used to run a lot (got up to half marathon distance) but I don't think my knees could do it now. They're rubbish as it is!

Well done on loss @Motnight sorry you've also been unwell!

@Usernamechangeforthis12 well done on being so close to target. You never know this last stone might drastically change your figure. It's funny how size/weight are.

If I'm honest I'm still not feeling great. Still have a really flat/anxious feeling at the moment. Really hoping it lifts soon. Haven't felt like this in months so it's disappointing that it's returned. (This happens regularly so you'd think I'd be used to it but when it returns I'm always so frustrated and just want it to go away.) I'm naturally quite a happy go lucky person so having to battle with how I feel inside and what I show on the outside is pretty exhausting.

Azuresky68 · 07/01/2025 12:48

@weaseleyes here is the link for maintenance thread that @Blondeshavemorefun posted further down the chat:

Maintenance Policy Email Cloud Pharmacy And Others www.mumsnet.com/Talk/weight-loss-injections/5219964-maintenance-policy-email-cloud-pharmacy-and-others

I caused a stir because I posted something about Ousch which I apparently got wrong 🙃 so I posted a grovelling apology.
They have a list of pharmacies providing maintenance. I emailed the pharmacies direct to ask 3 specific questions. So far I have got a reply from The Family Chemist. I posted this on the maintenance thread above. Hope that helps

weaseleyes · 07/01/2025 12:58

Thanks @Azuresky68 , I've been reading that thread. I think most emails/policies are fairly generic and providers say they'll do things on a case by case basis - which is completely sensible. But it does mean we don't get the certainty of saying to ourselves now that when we meet those criteria we can do this or that - as the criteria aren't very tightly specified and what you can do is still not well-established. For example, I'd like to try getting to BMI 23, tapering down to maybe 2.5 again, and then taking it every other week - but this isn't an established pathway and doesn't really tie-in with 30 day pens, so no one will say if this is an option.

Ah well, I've a couple of stone to go yet, and I expect those stones will come off much more slowly than previous ones - if at all - so there's still time for providers to get their shit together. Basically I want a cheap option where I have as much autonomy and as little contact as possible within parameters that have been shown to be safe.

Maintenance
This is the email sent to suppliers offering maintenance plans. I am posting replies on the Maintenance thread. Feel free to use if you think it's any good!
I haven't got long to decide about maintenance.
Pens - This month I ordered one time only with Pharmacy2U as it's £60 off for first order so 12.5 cost £139 with signed for RM delivery and the turnaround time was very quick. I ordered Sunday and it's getting delivered on Thursday. You have to post a recent photo, a photo of your last medication box and ID.
Email sent to maintenance suppliers:
Hi there
Maintenance Plans
I am nearing the end of my weight loss journey with BMI of 27. I am aiming for 25 BMI at the top of my healthy weight range.

I have heard that you are offering a maintenance plan.

My intention is to titrate down from 12 5 and at some point try to maintain without Mounjaro, with option to go back on if I am gaining weight.
My concern is that I can take a break but go back onto Mounjaro if I gain up to 7 pounds. I don't want to wait to go back on after a more significant gain.

Please can you respond with answers to the following?

• What BMI will you accept a new patient for maintenance?

• How long can I stay on maintenance?

• How long a gap do you allow between being on an MJ pen, stopping an MJ pen, then going back onto a MJ pen.

Many thanks

Blondeshavemorefun · 07/01/2025 13:21

Well done @Usernamechangeforthis12

Wish some foods revolt me 😂😂

@owlyboo sorry to hear 12.5 has made you a bit poorly

Hey @owlyboo sorry you're feeling like that. Perhaps lean into it and don't feel you have to put on a mask. Has anything happened recently to make you feel anxious?
Losing weight raises memories and associated feelings too. Hugs.

Blondeshavemorefun · 07/01/2025 13:22

So hungry today

Ahhhhhhh

Only day 5. Often hungry 7/thur

But as first week of higher I didn't expect to feel starved today

Hello again! I'm posting here a lot at the moment as it's helped me so much being on here. Get well soon to the poorly ones, good luck to anyone going back to work and to anyone staying home. Well done to everyone for sticking with journey and being in this amazing group. Congratulation for getting through Christmas and NY and well done for that. Great news on losses, sts and staying with it if you gained. Sorry for anyone feeling low, and I hope you feel better soon. I used to get very down and lethargic in January, but I finally feel happy this year. It's taking me a long time to get there. I am lucky because I am finally retired at 68, apart from a casual job at the theatre, which I can do when I want. It's snowy and frozen here, but I am grateful I am warm and dry and have my heated throw! Catching up on TV and generally being lazy at home alone and loving it x

owlyboo · 07/01/2025 13:26

@FlappingMadly I suffer on and off with anxiety anyway but it seemed to have been stopped for a while whilst I've been taking MJ, so I was hoping that I would have a break from it whilst being on the meds.

I think it's probably been triggered by Christmas (used to be my favourite time of the year but my exH ended our marriage 2 years ago on actual Christmas Day so I think that probably put a dampener on it since!) plus feeling of new year, feeling im just plodding in life, exH being selfish etc. mixture of a lot of things! Hopefully the feeling will lift soon, thank you! You're probably right that I shouldn't be masking it, but with it just being me and the kids at home I don't like for them to see it.

Thanks @Blondeshavemorefun like I say the sickness hasn't been horrendous just felt it more on 12.5 but like I say other side effects have disappeared so it's strange.

Are you being good and drinking lots of water? That's what I need to do everyday. I buy flavoured still or sparkling water from Aldi or Lidl. A pint glass filled with a third of this and topped up with tap water works for me 👍More vegetables? Another thing I need to do!

Blondeshavemorefun · 07/01/2025 13:35

Who cares. It was a gueniune mistake so don't worry About it @Azuresky68 😘

Thing is Info changes all the time

Like med express would match price. Now only to certain chemists

Suppliers say something

Then say something else

And yes drink water /juice /eat veg

Just really hungry today
