Just approved and am assuming that the pen won’t arrive until after Christmas so will start the new year with a, er, prick.

Anyway, thought I’d start a thread for anyone else planning on a slimmer 2025!

I wonder if some of the common side effects are mostly due to suddenly decreasing calories and sugar intake rather than the drug itself. Whenever I’ve suddenly cut out sugar or dropped to 1,200 calories I’ve always had massive sugar withdrawal symptoms and low energy!

I think it's probably got a lot to do with overdoing it at the start... I also get sugar withdrawal symptoms! And dropping to 1200 cals from one day to the next is bound to have an effect.
From experience, I need to make sure to drink at least 2 L water a day to help alleviate these issues. And making sure I make the few calories I get count - upping the protein etc.

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 27/12/2024 11:42

Anyone know what the big "nos" are for being on this drug.

Like does caffeine cause problems?
Is it just junk food or particular types of food that might give side effects.

Seaitoverthere · 27/12/2024 11:49

Friend prescribes it and has just now said keep portions small amd stay away from fizzy drinks.

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 27/12/2024 11:51

Does that include fizzy water? Presumably it does. I drink quite a bit of it but happy to slow down.

I hopefully start 2 weeks today so was thinking u could try and cut out anything that's going to be difficult now!

cloudjumper · 27/12/2024 11:54

@FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden that's what I'm going to do, too. Starting to log calories and tracking macros today, so hopefully by the time my pen arrives, I'm already in the swing of things....

RosaBaby2 · 27/12/2024 11:59

Right, I've just done it! Well actually my 17 year old son has because I got right to the injecting and then couldn't do it 😂

18st 13lb

Just having a small bowl of porridge, little nervous about what to eat and what not to eat.

Seaitoverthere · 27/12/2024 12:04

@FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden I think it will include water. Good idea to get going now. It seems to effect everyone differently and the 2.5mg is just a starter dose which doesn’t always cause suppression and I think making changes when you aren’t on it is a good way of starting as you mean to go - even if it does work ( I don’t think my brain can quite compute that yet!) we are going to all need to make sustainable changes to maintain.

ForeverSkys · 27/12/2024 12:43

I took the plunge and started yesterday as they say no time like the present lol

Seaitoverthere · 27/12/2024 12:44

A few of us today then ! I didn’t do mine @RosaBaby2 , DH has T1 so asked him to sort it.

Seaitoverthere · 27/12/2024 12:45

It is clearly affecting my eyesight as read @ForeverSkys yesterday as today 😀

cloudjumper · 27/12/2024 12:47

I'm still waiting for my pen to be dispatched 😩

Haha I do that all the time. I feel so bloated today. Hunger still comes and goes but sticking to it

Pandora71 · 27/12/2024 14:42

Does anyone know if the packages say “store in fridge” on the outside upon delivery? Wondering how discrete is discrete? I ordered from Asda Pharmacy.

VelvetWildflower · 27/12/2024 15:10

Still waiting for my pen to be dispatched. I asked MedExpress if it would be today but they said they're experiencing delays and to just keep an eye on a tracking number they've given me for Royal Mail.

Was hoping to start tomorrow 😔

Overthemoun · 27/12/2024 18:21

Hi, can I join? I’ve just placed my order.

Hoping to lose 3-4 stone.

spanieleyes · 27/12/2024 18:42

First dose taken!

TartanMammy · 27/12/2024 18:57

I've just ordered my first dose but probably won't start until 3rd / 4th Jan. We have lots of plans and I can't afford to be unwell if I have any untoward side effects.

I can't afford to be on it long term so am going to give it 6 months.

littlepammie70 · 27/12/2024 18:58

I am hoping to order my first dose today. I have a BMI of 39 and want to lose 3 stone. Medexpress are quoting £149 for 2.5mg is that the best deal at the moment?

broccolini · 27/12/2024 19:06

Just ordered some too.. from med express and used someone's discount to save £40

broccolini · 27/12/2024 19:07

Have a look at one of the other threads

Seaitoverthere · 27/12/2024 19:11

There is a price comparison site you can look at, I would think it is in the codes thread.

Joining in here, with some trepidation I’ve ordered MJ and sent my photos in so hopefully will receive it soon. Worried about side effects, worried about failing at this, my last resort…. Going to sit and work out menu for new year.

undercoverhero74 · 27/12/2024 20:33

Hello, can I join please? First dose taken today. I have around 20kg to lose 😊

RamsayBoltonsConscience · 27/12/2024 20:38

Hello, I'm in - waiting for my pen to arrive from MedExpress... Ordered on the 23rd so hoping it will dispatch tomorrow.
