Just approved and am assuming that the pen won’t arrive until after Christmas so will start the new year with a, er, prick.

Anyway, thought I’d start a thread for anyone else planning on a slimmer 2025!

I've just sent off for my first injections from Oushk so if I'm approved I'll be starting early January. I've got over 6 and a half stone to lose to get to a healthy BMI so I'm really hoping I don't have too many side effects.

Does anyone use a tracker app, if so I'm looking for recommendations!

KrankySchwester · 25/12/2024 17:18

Hi I’d like to join if I may. I was on Saxenda until it got ridiculously difficult to find and it had really stopped working. But while it did work I lost 4 stone. Alas I’ve gained 2 stone back thanks to a collapse in mental health.

cloudjumper · 25/12/2024 19:21

Is anyone ordering from Medexpress, if so, how long until they dispatch? Appreciate nothing will be sent out over Christmas, just wondering how long they usually take? I'd imagine that there's currently a high demand as everyone is getting ready to start in January (like us!)...

Mine came within 2 days but this was last week

Therealmetherealme · 26/12/2024 06:34

Hi 👋. Here to join, I've been debating for about 6 months, worried about side effects and family life, but planning to research suppliers and start in Jan. So many companies to choose from.

FatGirlDosing · 26/12/2024 09:48

Very enjoyable Christmas Eve & Christmas Day eating much less than usual completely under the radar (noting neither my Mum or Sister were with me and I think will be more eagle eyed than DP’s side of the family!).

Really enjoyed the food and drinks I did have & very pleased to be feeling slimmer already despite the season!

I have mine in the fridge, I'm starting 1st January with nearly 8 stone to lose😭
Worried about the side effects though!

That's encouraging to read! Fingers crossed 🤞🏻

I'm debating whether to tell family/friends about this. I mentioned to DH a while ago that I was thinking of starting Mounjaro, and got a very non-committal reaction ('Oh?'). Although I did spot my SIL in on of the Facebook groups I've joined...

VelvetWildflower · 26/12/2024 10:20

I ate myself to the point of intense bloating last night. I was laying in bed so uncomfortable that I thought I could quite literally pop. Haven't had anything this morning yet as I still feel uncomfortably full.

I told myself it was my last big blowout but honestly, this makes me feel awful. I didn't eat a lot of sugar - a lot of meats and veggies and cheese etc - but it was just too much.

I'm excited for this pen to be dispatched (hopefully tomorrow!) so I can start again 🙌

Seaitoverthere · 26/12/2024 11:44

Think I am going to take it tomorrow. A few things planned for today and I don’t want to take it after rich food. A few people know.

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 26/12/2024 12:01

My husband knows and is on board. It will be over a year for me and I wanted him to know as he may have to pick up some of the slack if I struggle with side effects as he already helps me a lot (ND and have cfs).

I don't know about my kids. I kind of think I might need to tell them. They're young teens so will notice me jabbing. But I don't want their judgement or to tell their friends.

I don't think I want colleagues or school mum friends to know but I dont know. It just feels private.

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 26/12/2024 12:38

I weighed myself. I'm half a stone heavier than I thought 😬. I hope I can do this.

Seaitoverthere · 26/12/2024 14:09

I am being selective who knows. DH knows, my cousin who is also starting, and 2 good friends- one had weight loss surgery and the other is a diabetes nurse. Oh and a Whatapp group from people on a MN group where we all lost weight a good few years ago. So actually quite a few people😀 I feel I do want support so have told people I know will give that.

End of the day though it is no one’s business and I think we should only tell those people we feel comfortable knowing. If that is no one then that’s absolutely fine,

I think it’s worked so it’s saying order today for Saturday delivery.. I don’t know if that’s only for people already approved .

RosaBaby2 · 26/12/2024 16:53

I have had a pen in the fridge since last week. Going to start tomorrow morning.

I have 10 stone to lose been waiting until I was 'in the right mindset' to do SW again (previously lost 6 stone) but it never comes so feel I've got to do something.

Good luck all

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 26/12/2024 17:45

Welcome Rosa :) I'm another 10 stone-er and my confidence goes up and down but I'm determined to make this work.

We can but try, I would be happy with any loss I haven't found the right headspace in a long time.

We can support each other in to the unknown! 🙂

Thelittlestranger · 26/12/2024 18:29

I've had mine in the fridge since last week too. I plan to start on Sunday morning...I'm nervous, while also excited.

I would like to lose two stone. That would put me to a place I haven't been for 12 years, and a weight I think I would be able to maintain. Because I'm so short I would still be considered overweight BMI at that weight - but it feels inconceivable that I might go lower than that right now.

It would be good to know others starting at the same time. So far I have only told one friend and my husband...

I had a lovely day too - enjoyed my food but didn’t feel the need to overeat - first time ever that I’ve been able to have one chocolate and leave it at that. No side effects at all now and am definitely a little slimmer. Day 5 today.

Hello! I’ve just ordered MJ and feeling excited and nervous.

I’m only just BMI 30 and in some ways quite healthy - I do a lot of exercise and enjoy healthy food. I also enjoy unhealthy food and have a massive sweet tooth.

I was overweight in my early 20s peaking at BMI 40 before losing a lot over the course of a couple of years with diet and exercise alone. No yo-yo dieting, just sustainable loss.

However, after each of my 3 kids I’ve returned to a higher baseline weight and I’m just stuck at BMI 30. No gaining, no loss. Weight loss is much harder now I’m older with less headspace. The only way I succeeded previously was by making it my absolute no1 priority in life, for years of hard graft and with a pile of small children and a full-on job it is a challenge.

I’m hoping MJ will just help me tip the balance and allow me some gentle weight loss back to a healthier weight. A lot of the building blocks are in place and maybe this will give me the boost I need?

I’m very nervous! Also planning on flying under the radar with my family. I’m considering starting on a 1.25 dose.

Pandora71 · 26/12/2024 23:17

I wonder if some of the common side effects are mostly due to suddenly decreasing calories and sugar intake rather than the drug itself. Whenever I’ve suddenly cut out sugar or dropped to 1,200 calories I’ve always had massive sugar withdrawal symptoms and low energy!

Jjsmum2007 · 26/12/2024 23:43

Hi all, am seriously considering starting MJ. Only just heard about it this week from a colleague lol, had no idea it was so easily available online in the UK! Seems too good to be true though? 🤔

My BMI is similar to yours now. I lost about 10lbs running / gym and willpower starting 18 months ago but have been stuck at this weight for about a year, in fact it’s been creeping up a little. My problem is snacking in the evening. I was super nervous - so glad I took the plunge!

Seaitoverthere · 27/12/2024 11:26

I have started, first injection done!
