Just approved and am assuming that the pen won’t arrive until after Christmas so will start the new year with a, er, prick.

Anyway, thought I’d start a thread for anyone else planning on a slimmer 2025!

Hoping to join you all!

I took Ozempic for about nine months. Initially I was a super responder and was losing 5 pounds a week on 0.25. However, eventually it just stopped working and all my food noise came back.

I have just completed Juniper consultation and asked to do Mounjaro as I believe the effects are longer lasting. I hope so anyway.

They are going to call me (which I will hate) and then I’ll get back into the WLI mindset and update.

Therealmetherealme · 05/01/2025 06:50

Al title off topic but I'm planning to have chicken often for lunch, with salad, grains, that kind of thing. Would anyone recommend an air fryer for this? I've resisted one for so long as it wouldn't cook the meals we like, but for small lunch's, the odd kids sausage, what do people think?

Mounjarry · 05/01/2025 07:18

I've just been approved and hopefully my pen will be here by Tuesday. I have 20kgs to lose so not loads, but enough that after being overweight for as long as i can remember, I'm hoping this gives me the extra support to lose this final weight to get me into a healthier range (and then the real challenge of maintaining begins i know). I have lost 5 stone following therapy and learning about nutrition and exercise so hoping that is beneficial also.

Yes I use my air fryer for chicken all the time! Also as you say for smaller portions or just parts of a meal.

I ordered on the 2nd, still waiting for the prescription to be approved.

I used to be very active, ran lots, gym etc - we then had a huge work/life matter that derailed me for 2 years and I put on 5 stone from stress, lack of life and eating ALL the carbs ( I’m a savoury eater not a sweet tooth)

As a result I am unfit, joints hurt and I loath myself when I look in the mirror.

I am hoping this will help me loose quickly, get back to fitness ( I couldn’t run at this weight without doing damage) and feel more me…

hopefully approved soon!! Anyone else waiting?

Who did you order with? Mine was approved within 48 hours and then had dispatch notification about 24 hours after that, so it'll be 5ish days by the time it arrives which doesn't seem too bad! I suspect it'll pick back up from tomorrow when schools are back, although there have been working days between Xmas and new year and after, most people return tomorrow.

I could have written this! 2.5/3 years ago I was doing 5 HIIT workouts and 5 runs a week and I was fit and felt awesome. Then I let a stressful job takeover and piled on the weight. Now I'm 16 stone and can't comfortably exercise. Hence MJ. Really hope it works for me. I've ditched the job now.

I'm painful wind and potential constipation.. not had a number 2 since Friday and woken up feeling really bloated and sluggish.
I had an alcoholic drink yesterday so wondering if that is partly responsible.
I'm going to need to find some wonder foods for keeping regular I think and try and up my fibre intake. Anyone got any recommendations? I don't like dates or dried apricots particularly but will eat raisins.

Thelittlestranger · 05/01/2025 08:15

@Changingnameagain I started taking complete biomel daily a week ago after taking my first jab, as I'm prone to not being very regular. I take a spoonful in my morning coffee, and I haven't had any problems - might be worth a shot?

cloudjumper · 05/01/2025 08:18

I'm also having issues with some constipation. I'm usually very regular, every day about the same time. I realise I'm eating a lot less, but I'm worried about the mj having an aggravating effect. I'm currently considering taking some of DH's lactulose....

2catsand2kids · 05/01/2025 08:20

Morning all, I took my first jab yesterday afternoon. I’m really excited to start this journey and hope it’s a success. When I was younger I found it much easier to lose weight but as I’ve got older I find it easier to put weight on and harder and harder to lose it. I’m a terrible snacker and sucker for cakes and chocolate so I’m hoping this will help break those bad habits.

So far no side effects and can’t tell yet if I have any suppression (I’m still lying in bed).

SW: 15stone 11lbs
GW: 12 stone 7lbs

@Bellabluea you sound remarkably similar to me, I’m very tall and my husband is always telling me how gorgeous I am, but as I am now obese and my waist measurement is well over half my height (which given my height means it’s rather large) I decided I wanted to try MJ. I was really nervous to tell him, and he was initially a bit sceptical (mainly as he’s worried about side effects) but he’s being really supportive.

IdentityCrisis101 · 05/01/2025 08:31

I have weighed myself this morning, I injected on Wednesday. I have gone from 14 stone 11... to 14 stone 5! I can't believe it and I'm not even a week in.

I haven't been going to the loo as much but can't say its constipation, just think I am eating less so need to go less.

I have found I have bad breath, I'm not dehydrated as I am drinking about 2.5 litres a day so wondering if that is a side effect.

Thelittlestranger · 05/01/2025 08:36

It's been 1 week for me, and I'm about to take my 2nd jab. I've woken up mildly hungry for the first time - but can't decide if that's because I'm thirsty instead. Have weighed in, and lost!

Week 1
SW - 12 stone 3/4lbs
CW - 11 stone 9.5lbs
1st GW - 10 stone 7lbs
Loss - 4 3/4lbs
Height - 5ft 1

Delighted with that - I know my WI weight was particularly high (highest in many years) due to Xmas, and so there is water weight there also. But a positive start.

On to week 2, and back to work, so a different week to work out....

emmsyg · 05/01/2025 08:46

@Therealmetherealme i have an air fryer from Asda and resisted for so long but it’s the best thing ever! I hardly ever use my oven now, so quick for the kids dinners, roasting veg, chips/wedges, they are amazing. Mine was a cheapy Asda 6.2 litre one and has been going strong for 2 years now. I got it for £35 but it’s about £49 at the moment.

After being constipated for 11 days!!!! I got flax seed from Tesco ( I mention Tesco as I hadn’t a clue where to get it ). A teaspoon added to porridge, yogurt or protein drink every day has kept things moving nicely 😉

mounjaro2025 · 05/01/2025 08:59

Woken up on day 3
No suppression. In fact I feel hungry. My tummy is rumbling.
No side effects that I can pinpoint except very dry mouth and a bit of a headache. But I haven’t drunk any water so that’ll probably be why. Not sure if I have slight sulphur burps as well.

Trying to maintain a positive mindset but I did think I would be feeling “less hungry” by now 😔

Thank you! I will order some. The trapped wind pain is hugely uncomfortable and painful at points too.

Seaitoverthere · 05/01/2025 09:03

So lovely seeing these results come in !

@Therealmetherealme I bought a Sage smart oven as an air fryer and oven on old house as our oven wasn’t great and we were moving so didn’t want to move. Now in new house and redone the kitchen and have a lovely big cooker that has had the oven on twice in 15 months as we use the Sage one all the time. It isn’t as good at air frying as my DD;s apparently which was a cheap one.

Yesterday I put on a pain au chocolat and croissant for DS and thought it is Saturday and maybe I will have them too so put them in oven. Then thought actually crumpets would be better so took them out and did crumpets, baby bel and an apple instead. Had to go somewhere for 1.30pm so had a banana before thinking I would have a late lunch but the day ran away with me and didn’t eat again till gone 7pm and struggled to finish last bit. Very weird!

ElanBridge · 05/01/2025 09:04

@Thelittlestranger well done! But you’ve done yourself out of a pound! Your loss starts with a 5 not 4 - so be extra chuffed with yourself !!! 😃

Seaitoverthere · 05/01/2025 09:07

@mounjaro2025 just seen your post. I think it was day 3 or 4 I woke up absolutely ravenous. Things have improved, see my post above. Still early days yet, keep the faith and keep on keeping on . Reading some of these threads it does seem that is can be quite variable day to day sometimes. Maybe see if you can focus on getting water down you today, I need to too.

I spoke to the chemist yesterday as I was worried about my constipation and he suggested lactulose. I some yesterday afternoon and I’ve pooped twice since

Happytoday69 · 05/01/2025 09:21

End of week 2 for me - 7lbs down, so pleased. Am menopausal with a slow thyroid and I’ve trying been so hard to get some weight loss started so it’s lovely to see the scales moving. I did my 3rd injection last night and tried to reorder- I thought it would just go through but I had to fill in the same questionaire and am waiting for the prescription to be reviewed 😳I hope they don’t want another photo.

Thelittlestranger · 05/01/2025 09:46

@ElanBridge 😂 Well, even better! Maths has never been my strong point....
