Thanks everyone.

@InfoSecInTheCity i felt like I’d been so slow since Xmas, I think the weather and general January gloom doesn’t help. I’d expected to make my goal by end of Feb so a little behind that but still so pleased. Now the really hard work begins. I’ve altered my status on the nutracheck app to maintaining and it’s the weirdest feeling. I think before I’ve always either been on a diet or mindlessly eating. I’ve never aimed for a maintenance level of calories before!

Tipster100 · 01/03/2025 10:44

I'm so sorry you have had this experience - it must feel very hard when others are losing so well. Definitely talk to a pharmacy about trying one of the others - there are 3 choices of injection, aren't there? I might be wrong. What made you move off Wegovy when it was working?

I had a nasty chest infection and was so unwell for months last spring, I stopped wegovy as I didn't want to feel any sicker than I was!

Yes @SpiderMother - it’s a very new feeling not to have a weight loss goal, plus a couple of ‘stretch’ goals that I dont even dare articulate. I think probably this is the first time in my adult life that maintaining at this size has been my goal.

sylv165 · 05/03/2025 08:29

Weigh day for me today and I have lost a grand total of 0.3lbs 🤣. I’m happy enough with that as I haven’t been doing particularly well this week in terms of food. I had a work trip to London that involved dinner and wine with a friend, then had a birthday party to go to at the weekend, so I’m just glad it has gone down rather than up! Will be on my best behaviour this week 😇

SpottyBumPony · 05/03/2025 08:47

Week 27,

STS this week, a 10 day plataue. Not realistically a worry but annoying as hell when I've been consistently losing 😆. More water, less dates and chocolate covered nuts is in order. Still it gives me an idea of what a maintenance intake could be like. My average loss is 2.37kg a week so hardly shabby!

I weighed in this morning and had a mini goal victory. For the first time in years I am below 200lbs. I am so chuffed, but don't have anyone to share it with so am posting here. I did a little "I'm under 200lbs dance" around the kitchen. Grin

MandarinDentistTiger · 05/03/2025 12:12

More or less stayed the same. I feel in a good headspace.

I had only one small glass of wine on Friday night. I would have drank the bottle before. I am definitely able to make better choices AND have learnt a lot about what normal calorie intake looks like. I wasn't even massively overindulging. I simply don't need anything like 2000 calories a day, more like 1500. I am aiming for a weekly total and am am intentionally having days with very strict menu plans. I may change it up with 36 hour fast after injection this week. Mostly for the insulin benefits.

MandarinDentistTiger · 05/03/2025 12:14

Congratulations on reaching Onederland @Itisallgoingtobeok

This was one of my milestones too.

Bumblebeehum · 06/03/2025 08:32

Hey all, I've not felt like posting as 1lb loss each week doesn't seem worth it (definitely a me problem 🙄)

Loving reading everyone's progress, so much nicer than the Facebook groups (which I mostly block). I especially love a NSV so will try and list some.

SW 245lbs
CW 189lbs (4 stone loss 🥳, but still obese 😕)

I can go to the gym in fitted t-shirts
I don't feel hideous in underwear

I've reached 10 stone! I'm working hard this week to try to get into the 9s next week... however I've delayed my jab! Last week I went up to 7.5 and it was horrible... not in terms of side effects but just in terms of not being able to eat and barely managing 1/4 of a meal before feeling yuck. So I've decided to let that wear down this week then I'll go back down a dose probably tonight - either back to 6.25 or maybe to 7.

Bring on the 9s! I feel like I'm entering my final push... I have one pen in stock so I'm deciding whether to buy one more. My partner has suggested that I do as it would be sensible to get well in to goal before stopping. I'm more thinking about saving money! (By the way he isn't pushing me to use it, just championing my own goals... he's of the opinion that if I have it in stock but don't need it that I can just choose not to use it).

20bloodypounds · 07/03/2025 10:16

So many posts with great news. I feel delighted for everyone. Who would have thought, back in September when we were all so anxious about our very first injections, that we would have made so much progress. The world must be feeling a bit lighter after our collective progress!

I've still go another 7lbs to go and have stalled a bit. But that's because I'm reluctant to go any higher than 5mg, and that I have been eating less carefully and drinking more. I know what I have to do.

I have another holiday in 5 weeks time - perhaps I can reach my goal by then? I can certainly try.

StanleyCup · 07/03/2025 10:21

Final weekly check in. I have finally reached my ultimate goal weight! 10 stone.

This journey has been so worth it. Thank you for the mumsnet community for advice, check ins, accountability and support in keeping on!
Some stats and facts.
Ive lost 52lbs in 26 weeks ( 6 months)
Calorie deficit and working out 4 x per week.
4 pens from Medexpress
£315.76 overall cost ( with discount codes)
That is approximately £12 per week. I would have spent more on takeaways and food i was binging. So anyone looking to try its so worth the financial implications.

I had my last jab of 7.5mg 10 days ago and for now i’m going cold turkey but sticking to my diet and aiming for another 3-4lbs to get me to 9.10.

I am going to order another pen as a back up just incase i need it. Im hoping to move up to my maintenance calories slowly and perhaps add in another workout session.

Next check in end of March to keep you updated.
Good luck everyone!

OvaHere · 07/03/2025 10:49

My subscription is now cancelled. I've got two more weeks of 10mg and am about 10lbs from goal. I'm not too bothered about being spot on. Getting to 10 stone or near enough is fine.

If I reach 10 stone in the next fortnight I will have lost close to 5 stone in approx 7 months. I find this slightly mind boggling, back at the start of September I couldn't imagine it working this well.

Looking forward to seeing how we all get on with maintenance which feels nerve wracking in the same way starting the first jab did.

Itisallgoingtobeok · 08/03/2025 06:14

@StanleyCup and @OvaHere congratulations! What wonderful and amazing achievements! You must be feeling wonderful!

I had the first person notice my weightloss a couple of days ago. I think because it wasn't so cold I wasn't wearing a massive coat, so it was a bit more obvious. I can also see a hint of a waist now :)

SybillaB · 08/03/2025 12:22

As always my losses are lower than everyone else’s but I’m delighted to announce I’ve lost 2 stone. I can actually see the 13 stone something waving to me now which I would never have believed before starting on Mounjaro.

Thanks to everyone that posts, I read every one and it helps me keep the faith.

Itisallgoingtobeok · 08/03/2025 13:24

Well done @SybillaB! - I am also 2 stone down and looking at the 13 stone bracket. I was 14sr 2lb today, so hopefully a couple of weeks and we will be there together!

I'm looking at the slower rate of loss as a good thing for me. It's giving me time to really get to grips with my eating habits and to change them for good.

doodleschnoodle · 08/03/2025 17:02

Hi all! I’ve been awol for a while but great to see the thread is still going and everyone is doing so well. I am now at goal weight almost, at 9 stone 10 or so. I’ve lost 65lbs. I have unfortunately developed gallstones so may have to have my gallbladder out, but other than that life is good! I am moving to maintenance this month and not sure what that will look like for me, but I have a call to discuss this coming week. Off to catch up with everyone’s progress!

Bumblebeehum · 09/03/2025 09:05

Morning! It's my 6 month anniversary so posting early this week with a 2lb loss!

In total I've lost 57lbs which is 23% of by body weight and I can finally say I lost my baby weight (my baby is a teenager 😬)

Before I started MJ I was in denial and hadn't weighed myself in nearly a year. Even when I did weigh I couldn't compute the massive numbers I was seeing and was binge-eating every day, something MJ has allowed me to get control of. I now understand the Glucose spiking that I was doing to myself, hopefully this will contribute to an easier maintenance when I get to target.

I'm still a long way off, I remain obese but Overweight is in sniffing distance and I feel like a normal person. Buying clothes that fit on Vinted (and selling my bigger clothes) is something that brings me joy. I did a new clothes shop this week all size 12, I'm not quite there but I can see it's possible, soon.

I have at least 38lbs to go to Normal, so I'm in this thread a lot longer, hoping to see lots of successful maintenance stories as well as enjoying the company of those on a longer journey.
♥️

EBoo80 · 09/03/2025 09:33

It’s quite emotional seeing everyone doing so well. Ever so grateful for this thread and all the support.
I’ve done 2.5 today, having stayed on 5 for first month of maintenance. Had a serious wobble yesterday, and nearly ordered another 5. Everyone else seems to have goals that are lower in BMI than me, and I still worry about hovering around the 24 mark. But I’m broad shouldered and while I might look better at a lower BMI with clothes on, I suspect I wouldn’t with them off. 😁

I've never historically been anything other than obese, even morbidly obese so have no frame of reference for a normal BMI.

I still have a lot of belly flab so want to continue to try to reduce that and will just play it by ear on final goal.

sylv165 · 09/03/2025 21:10

@Bumblebeehum it hadn’t occurred to me that we are coming up to the 6 month mark so that you for pointing that out! It is amazing how far we have all come in that time. When I started I put into my calendar the weight I wanted to be on each weekly weigh-in, right up to the point where I reached a normal BMI. At the time I remember thinking that I was just setting myself up for failure but amazingly I am exactly on target. I really didn’t think it was possible after so many failed attempts in the past!!

InfoSecInTheCity · 10/03/2025 06:37

Weekly weigh in and I have hit one of my big big goals. I now have a healthy BMI!

Not really sure what my next goal is now, I still have plenty of flab around my belly so would like to get to somewhere close to the middle of the healthy range maybe BMI 22 or 23, but I've never been this small so no frame of reference and very much winging it,

@InfoSecInTheCity - that's amazing! Congratulations! Looking at your numbers you must have worked really hard and consistently for those results.

I'm a long way off a healthy BMI too, but have decided to aim for BMI of 23. I have been as low as 21.5 and I didn't look good in it.

Itisallgoingtobeok · 10/03/2025 09:48

@InfoSecInTheCity - sorry for the typo below, it should say "a long way off a healthy BMI too", you are already there! It was meant to say "a long way off a healthy BMI"

Sorry!
