Hi @OvaHere - it’s probably a really personal decision based on how you’re feeling. I’m with Oushk and had a consultation with them which I found helpful. Includes options like one month on, one off, extending injections to every 9 days etc. obviously they have a massive financial incentive for us to stay on, so took it with a pinch of salt, but she said that most people who go cold turkey have come back for a second course. It didnt feel to me like a hard sell.
My current plan is to titrate down quite slowly, keeping an eye on my weight very closely. It’s a tricky decision.

I agree - it definitely didn't feel like a hard sell. I get the sense they'll support you with whatever you want to try for - although yes she did say to me that a lot of people who stopped did end up coming back and restarting again for maintenance.

But as there is no risk of them refusing to have you back, if you try going it alone and it doesn't work out, it's not as though you then can't just change your mind and start again - so it's fine either way I think..!

Best NSV ever!

Just got the results of my latest blood test and my HbA1C number is 5.6% or 38 nMol down from 11% or 97n nMol in August last year.

I'm now in the non-Diabetic range!!

Have a call with diabetes nurse next week and hoping this doesn't mean they cut off my MJ supply, will have to keep my fingers crossed. Might do a bit of preemptive investigation for if anyone will privately prescribe given my BMI is now 26, think this would potentially be allowed with some as part of a 'Maintenance' programme.

That is absolutely fantastic - what a result!

SpottyBumPony · 23/01/2025 18:32

So much great progress on the thread now

20bloodypounds · 23/01/2025 23:24

@InfoSecInTheCity Wonderful! And isn't this why WLI are so helpful? (to those who really need them). It is not about trying to lose a few pounds for a special event. It is about fundementally changing your eating in a way which is so massively beneficial to your health and longevity. And if you can fit into some smaller sized clothing too that is a bonus.

mimosa1 · 24/01/2025 12:46

Hi everyone,
So nice to hear about all the NSVs and SVs. And I love a bit of clothes chat! What fun (albeit expensive sigh) to replace one's wardrobe. I'm not there yet regretfully !

I'm hoping that someone who has switched away from Voj to another provider (Oushk?) can talk me through the process? I still have 7-8kg to get to my goal weight but since Voy don't seem to offer a maintenant dose and are quite expensive as I'm not using the coaching particularly, I'm interested in switching.

Thanks and have a lovely weekend!

EBoo80 · 24/01/2025 12:55

Hi @mimosa1 - I did that switch. Was very easy although rules have changed over time. I uploaded a photo of me and a photo of my most recent Mounjaro box prescription sticker. It was easy and quick.

mimosa1 · 24/01/2025 15:07

Thanks @EBoo80 - I'll try it over the weekend. Can I ask, Voy has been good at varying dosages though - so staying at 2.5mg if I wanted that month etc. How have you found Oushk?

20bloodypounds · 24/01/2025 15:58

@mimosa1 I switched from another supplier to Oushk. As EBoo80 says it was straightforward. I paid £5 for a 15 minute consultation with Hira before I started the application as I was (just) out of obese category. Then I uploaded a photo of me, horrendous and a photo of my last prescription details, including my name the date and the dose, and details of my GP.

Oushk don't 'approve' until just before they dispatch, so if you order a couple of weeks in advance you may feel a bit in limbo until just before the delivery day. I did, and therefore was too nervous to cancel my order with my previous supplier, so now I've got an extra pen sitting in the fridge.

With Oushk I have only ever ordered 5mg pens. Never gone up.

jupiterhigh · 25/01/2025 07:00

Week 19 for me, lost 3.5 lbs this week. I have just crossed two milestones, I have now lost 4st 3lb and weight 13st 3. This means my BMI has just crept into overweight not obese. I think I am in shock, my initial goal was 13 stone and that seemed improbable back in September.

ILoveLeopard245 · 25/01/2025 09:08

Brilliant to hear everyone’s progress! I’m still chipping away. That’s 3.5stone lost so far and ideally I would like another 3 stone off so I will be here for a while yet!
my weight loss is pretty steady and I’m losing again from last week after about a 5 week plateau. It feels far more manageable on mj and I am not thinking about food all the time. I’m using ww glp programme to track and it’s really easy on your phone to keep an eye on protein.

MandarinDentistTiger · 25/01/2025 11:57

Well done on moving from obese to overweight @jupiterhigh. That is my next milestone.

I'm 2.4lbs down on the week. I was 2lb lighter 3 days ago. Frustrating that I'm not 4.4lbs down on the week but there we are. Fairly typical for me and arlt least it's the right direction. Loving the scales though.

Does anyone have a free calorie tracker? I don't want to pay for a subscription.

InfoSecInTheCity · 25/01/2025 12:07

@MandarinDentistTiger I use MyFitnessPal it gets better the more you use it, because as you log foods they start to appear in your 'my foods' list so they're quicker and easier to track.you can also build recipes and meals so if you make a lasagna for example, you create it as a recipe, tell MfP how many servings the whole recipe has made and it works it the calorie and nutrition break down for that so you can log it. If you have for example chicken breast with a cup of broccoli and half a black of microwave rice regularly, then you can create that as 'a meal' and just track it with one click rather than needing to build the meal every time.

20bloodypounds · 25/01/2025 14:43

@InfoSecInTheCity ooh, I didn't know that about MFP - I'll have to give it a go.

MandarinDentistTiger · 25/01/2025 21:19

Thanks @InfoSecInTheCity

I cook a lot. I think tracking properly will really help me.

InfoSecInTheCity · 25/01/2025 21:43

20bloodypounds · 25/01/2025 14:43

@InfoSecInTheCity ooh, I didn't know that about MFP - I'll have to give it a go.

If you open up the app, then click on 'more' in the menu at the top you should see it.

You can create recipes by adding the ingredients or by going to a website link and it will pull the recipe from the site.

Seldomseenkid · 26/01/2025 09:32

Morning all. I’ve been ill for over a week so this is is my first update in a couple of weeks. 2.5 pounds off in that time and so what I thought would have been a pound away from target.

But it’s not! I noticed BMI projection at target was still over 25, so I’ve had to recalculate it and I have another 6 pounds to go, I’m gutted! This one has 2 doses left and my next pen is my last no matter what. I know BMI is not everyone’s target but for me it’s the marker I want to get to. I’ll always weigh heavier than I look if that makes sense, so I need something to aim for.

I also had to come down from 45 clicks of a 5 pen as suppression was too much and I realise that leads me into eating 800 cals a day if I’m not really careful, so back to 35 it is!

mimosa1 · 26/01/2025 11:11

Hi @Seldomseenkid I feel like we are on a similar path as I also seem to be v sensitive to the dosage. I have 6.5 kg to go to my goal weight though as I want to go a bit lower than my BMI. I've not gone above 2.5mg yet though and might try it as time goes on. Congratulations on being so close to your goal!

I know I'm probably being unreasonable but I'm a bit irritated w Voy. They sent me an email with a pdf chart basically telling me I was losing weight at more or less half the pace of the average user. Not particularly helpful and I hadn't asked how I compared. Grr. I've lost over 10kg so no slouch! Anyway, I know it doesn't matter in the slightest really but hope you won't mind me venting to you guys :)

InfoSecInTheCity · 26/01/2025 13:24

This does seem like a bit of a hard week for some reason and looks like there's a few people having plateaus or slow weeks.

Based on my daily check I'm not on track to lose anything at official weigh in tomorrow.

There have however been NSVs so trying to focus on those instead of the numbers.

We know how this goes, we've done it before, just keep eating well, keep drinking lots, keep moving more and let it sort itself out, it will and the numbers on the scales will start moving in the right direction again.

SpottyBumPony · 26/01/2025 16:44

In other weight loss news, my boobs have definitely changed, they have deleted alot. I've noticed in pictures that my bras weren't doing me any favours so I measured using the boob or bust method. I was wearing a 38G and BoB recommended a 34H. I thought that would be way off so picked up a bunch of 36F's to try and a random 34H.

Blow me down the 26F's were terrible and the 34H was perfect 👌

lespameo · 26/01/2025 20:55

I have had quite a few people mention my weight loss over the last week, probably as I've not been covering myself up with baggy jumpers as much!! I haven't told anyone that I'm on injections apart from my partner. When people ask how I'm losing weight, I tell them I'm drinking more water and snacking less and making sure I'm in a calorie deficit which is true!!!

7lbs to go for me now to allow for a bit of wiggle room. I'm the lightest weight I've been since 2019 and I am loving the fact I can wear my old clothes again with confidence!

Yay!

20bloodypounds · 26/01/2025 22:30

@mimosa1 I'm also on a low dose, and I am losing slowly. For me, that is fine, I am managing the side effects, I am able to continue, I am continuing to lose weight, it all feels sustainable, I will eventually reach my goal.

Then I read about someone who has lost more than twice as much, and I feel despondent. I wish I was losing faster and that I'd reach my goal weight by next week rather than next summer.

But I have to do what it right for me. I try not to compare. And I hope that by losing weight slowly all my skin will adaptively shrink around me Smile

@lespameo that's fantastic. I'm still wearing baggy things or clothes that are cut not to be close fitting. I think a couple of people notice from my face and general outline, but it's so damn cold here that I'm still well covered up.

MandarinDentistTiger · 26/01/2025 23:33

@20bloodypounds I'm a slow loser too. I am lighter now than I have been in 10 years. If I lose the same again I'm on track to get to overweight, albeit not as quick as I'd like. If I stand on my tiptoes, I can just about see a healthy weight.

NSV I bought a size 18 coat from. Ebay. It is too big, that was a big surprise. I have lost 38.5lbs but cannot really tell in myself.

I've told one friend and my OH.

Bumblebeehum · 27/01/2025 08:52

Morning everyone, I've not been checking in lately as I've struggled with getting back into the zone after Christmas, quite a few bad habits sneaking back (alcohol, haribo) but this week feel I'm back in control. Remaining on 44 clicks of 5mg.

2lbs off takes me into the 1's and I reached my first goal! I've set a new one on Shotsy that is 50lbs away which means I'm not even half way yet - I'm here for the duration.

Hi , I am new here. I started last Friday and have 2 stones to lose after losing 1 stone with diet and exercise. I then stalled for years. I took my first does on Friday and felt quite unwell, cold, sick , exhausted and aches. Was in bed alot ! I am now feeling better but quite worried for the next jab on Friday as I have the children on my own and a very busy weekend. Any advice , does it get better as you move on with the 2.5 ? Any advice. I work in education and as yet no concerns with bowels ( other than slightly constipated ) if you end up constipated does it normally remain this way... .very worried about some of the awful situations I have read of not making it to the loo !
