Ah it’s not stupid at all - they’ve been a part of our lives for decades and even though they are a pain in the bum at times it’ll be a big thing when they finally cease. A very physical reminder of the aging process.

I agree we are definitely doing the right thing at this time - putting ourselves in the strongest position to deal with all the ‘joys’ of menopause.

My personal downfall is bread (all things carby really) and wine.

I’m extremely lazy when it comes to exercise. I’ve put my name down on a waiting list to join a reformer Pilates class in the new year. Eek.

I hear you on the wine front -although for me, this has been the most beneficial part of taking MJ so far.

Just realised as well as a BMI of under 40, todays loss gives me a weight of 100kg (usually weigh in stone and pounds).

I know I’ll see an increase over the next week but this has strengthened my resolve to keep going.

Congrats! 🥳

Small NSV this morning! Tried on my ‘normal’winter coat which I could barely do up in early November and it fits! My husband watched me try it (after seeing my glum attempt in November) and was shocked too! (In a good way)

Am wearing it today!

I love a winter coat update! It is great to be able to fit into one and zip it up without having to wear a big scarf.

well done 💪🏻

Meal out was a success. I stuck with my meal choices with the exception I dropped the chicken and went for vegetable curry. The sauce was creamy but my side was tenderstem broccoli (which I love) rather than rice. Feeling full but okay. Jab day tomorrow.

i really do need to add in some strength training but struggling with motivation on that side. I’m exhausted but that might be the fact my last annual leave was full with me completing a masters end point assessment so I’ve not really had down time since early August.

I’m not really expecting to lose this coming week but maintenance would be good, if possible.

I’m hoping for maintenance after this weekend! Highly unlikely, but we live in hope!

My aim is to get back exercising. Since I wasn’t well a few weeks ago I stopped going as much as I just didn’t have the energy but need to get my workouts back in. I try to go 3 times per week but it’s hard at times

I find being unwell and getting back to fitness really hard too. Get yourself well first and the energy will return when your body feels ready 💐

Back from holiday!

W7D3 - current dose 3.75 mg
SW 93.1 kg
CW 86.6 kg
GW to be defined - 75 kg would be "normal weight" in BMI terms
Total loss on Mounjaro 6.5 kg or just over 1 stone

I lost around 0.7 kg while away. I should be super proud of that because being on holiday usually means a gain for sure. But somehow I'm a bit meh about it. I am also not feeling as much suppression on my 3rd 3.75 mg jab, so I'll go up to 5 mg on the next one for sure. I was just a bit scared of doing that while away and just before the holidays.

Wow. Lost weight and been on hols! 🙌

Weighed myself this morning and somehow I’ve lost more weight again but suspect I may be dehydrated (had some gin last night and my tolerance is not what it was!). But I’ll log it as my pre Christmas weight anyhoo!

SW 16 stone 6.5 lbs
CW 15 stone 1.5lbs
GW 11 stone (just taking me to the threshold of healthy BMI at 5ft 6)

As long as I don’t go crazy I may see a 14 on the scale before the year end!

well done! Fab losses!

I had a small whoosh this morning for similar reasons, @Goldleafcat - suspect it is down to the whisky nightcap I had last night.

I have now lost a stone since my original oh fuck weight - the one that spurred me to order Mounjaro. 13.2lbs down on MJ (W6D4). V pleased with that!

Well done! You must feel proud of yourself. I know I do 🥰

One pound down this week, which is good as there’s been a few festive events with all the rich food and drinking.

I go away on holiday in two weeks and I’m slightly dreading putting a swimming costume on! Even though I’m the lightest I’ve been for years, my bum is a saggy old pancake, and I need to fold my boobs into a bra!

I really need to kick on and do some exercise, I just have zero motivation for it.

Take small steps. A long walk, maybe a 10 min joe wicks?

You’ve got this 💪🏻

That’s amazing! Well done.

I’ve lost weight as this rate without help from MJ in the past but it’s been impossible in the last year or so - I definitely think things have changed - suspect peri menopause (I had a mini screaming fit into an empty room and kicked my bag the other day after becoming infuriated with a parcel issue!). I piled on more than 2 stone in a year and it felt like a runaway train…!

The menopause is just shit. If I had my time again, I’d have started HRT 2 years earlier than I did when the symptoms were mainly rage for no reason. Look at the Balance App from Dr Louise Newsome - lots of advice/tips so you know the difference between the different meds that you might want to consider. Taking/not taking is a really personal choice. I include testosterone in my regime which has been a game-changer. The inability to lose weight even after balancing my hormones was the real kicker though and is what led me to where we are now.

Lack of motivation for exercise is huge for me. One thing I've found helps is to exercise while I'm doing other things eg first thing in the morning I put my airpods in and put on a spotify dance track I made. Before I know it, I'm jigging around while getting breakfast etc. I also put it on while doing boring things like tidying, hoovering, dusting & cooking. It's amazing how I can raise my heartbeat and add up exercise minutes while actually enjoying a bit of disco! I also have a Scottish dance track, which is great for toning the ankles and calves! Over the course of a day, I usually rack up 30 - 60 mins 'dancercise' in small chunks.

Have you tried sweetcorn? A serving of that should do the trick.

Constipated here too 🖐🏻. Have to say I prefer it to the horrendous diarrhoea though.

weigh day yesterday and I only lost 1lb in the week. So that’s 8 weeks and 24 lbs for me… Have to say the scales are being a bit stubborn at the moment, but hopefully my body is just gearing up for the next drop . Whoever said this is a long and tedious process was right 😆

That's an average of 3lb a week, which sounds great to me. Any more than that wouldn't be healthy would it?

Are you drinking enough? I was surprised to find that I wasn't drinking the recommended amount each day as I always seem to have a drink beside me but it wasn't enough.

You’ve got this. Once you are there you will feel better. It’s getting there that is the first barrier to success.

Try supplementing your gym classes with bite-sized home exercise routines. 10-15 mins every day is completely doable and will help with progress for the longer paid-for classes.

Thanks! I will give that a go. Some days when working at home my lack of movement is awful real problem!

Yes you are absolutely right , it’s just that at the beginning it was falling off faster and now it’s a lot of work for an lb a week. But I know that’s completely normal and the way it goes. And I guess it’s more likely to be sustainable if it comes off more slowly. 🤞🏻 I already feel better about myself than I have done in years and I never want to go back .
Im definitely not drinking enough water I think- I need to remind myself to do that more

AllstarFacilier · 22/12/2024 19:34

I need to order my next pen. I don’t need it until after Xmas, but wanted to order it to have for the new year. I’m a bit wary of ordering now in case they send it out and it’s sat chilled over Xmas. Would they wait now until after Xmas to send it out?

DarkForces · 22/12/2024 19:43

@AllstarFacilier I ordered mine on Friday and it arrived yesterday so 24 hours later! I'm with Ashcroft and was stunned how fast they got it out!

TeenLifeMum · 22/12/2024 19:45

@Demjay I’m exactly the same. I’ve actually lost well over a stone in 5 weeks but the initial losses were big so when it slows to 1-2lb a week, despite me knowing this is a sensible a sustainable level of loss, I’m very impatient and annoyed I’m not skinny yet.

I am happier that my face looks more like me (pre weight gain of the last 2 years). Christmas feels annoyingly placed to interrupt the loss too but I do love Christmas so I’ll forgive it.

Still calorie counting so lunch was a mince pie with friends and as they drank wine, I stuck with black coffee. Veggie lasagna for dinner (using up left overs as cc my cupboards are bare - we’re not home for Christmas.

murraymcgill · 23/12/2024 00:34

@AAllstarFacilier I order my next one the other day just incase and keep in the fridge my prob was to go up or stay at 5mg so I just stayed

Mounjaropen · 23/12/2024 08:11

Good morning lovely friends in my phone…

I can report a Christmas miracle here…after a weekend of hosting friends, booze, a dabble in the festive heroes box, cheese and some crisps I have put on 0.2 of a lb. I am 12st7.2.

What I’ve learned… I ate and drank all of the above to participate rather than having an actual craving or desire for any of them (stupid really tbh) It’s Xmas week and I don’t want much of the stuff in the cupboards. It is really very strange indeed.

Today is jab day - W8D1. Hope everyone has a fab week.
