Just realised as well as a BMI of under 40, todays loss gives me a weight of 100kg (usually weigh in stone and pounds).

I know I’ll see an increase over the next week but this has strengthened my resolve to keep going.

TeenLifeMum · 22/12/2024 00:33

Meal out was a success. I stuck with my meal choices with the exception I dropped the chicken and went for vegetable curry. The sauce was creamy but my side was tenderstem broccoli (which I love) rather than rice. Feeling full but okay. Jab day tomorrow.

i really do need to add in some strength training but struggling with motivation on that side. I’m exhausted but that might be the fact my last annual leave was full with me completing a masters end point assessment so I’ve not really had down time since early August.

I’m not really expecting to lose this coming week but maintenance would be good, if possible.

Had a hot chocolate before bed tonight and had to pour half of it down the sink. Who is this person 😂

Ralala · 22/12/2024 08:20

My aim is to get back exercising. Since I wasn’t well a few weeks ago I stopped going as much as I just didn’t have the energy but need to get my workouts back in. I try to go 3 times per week but it’s hard at times

KentishMama · 22/12/2024 08:49

Back from holiday!

W7D3 - current dose 3.75 mg
SW 93.1 kg
CW 86.6 kg
GW to be defined - 75 kg would be "normal weight" in BMI terms
Total loss on Mounjaro 6.5 kg or just over 1 stone

I lost around 0.7 kg while away. I should be super proud of that because being on holiday usually means a gain for sure. But somehow I'm a bit meh about it. I am also not feeling as much suppression on my 3rd 3.75 mg jab, so I'll go up to 5 mg on the next one for sure. I was just a bit scared of doing that while away and just before the holidays.

My BMI has finally dropped below 40. Had a bit of a whoosh and almost 3lb off overnight and now a BMI of 39.7. Over the moon with that.

Woohoo that’s fantastic! Well done.

Goldleafcat · 22/12/2024 09:25

Weighed myself this morning and somehow I’ve lost more weight again but suspect I may be dehydrated (had some gin last night and my tolerance is not what it was!). But I’ll log it as my pre Christmas weight anyhoo!

SW 16 stone 6.5 lbs
CW 15 stone 1.5lbs
GW 11 stone (just taking me to the threshold of healthy BMI at 5ft 6)

As long as I don’t go crazy I may see a 14 on the scale before the year end!

Pumpkinforever · 22/12/2024 09:45

I had a small whoosh this morning for similar reasons, @Goldleafcat - suspect it is down to the whisky nightcap I had last night.

I have now lost a stone since my original oh fuck weight - the one that spurred me to order Mounjaro. 13.2lbs down on MJ (W6D4). V pleased with that!

BeNavyScroller · 21/12/2024 10:16

4th 2.5mg injection last night.

Although I’m 10lb down overall I’ve gone up 2lb this week. I’m so confused?!

I’ve had a few treats this last few days but nothing like I’d have rated previously and I’m under 1500 calories. It was Pizza Hut pizza provided at work yesterday and I ate 3/4 of it over the day rather than all in one go.

I had that at the a similar time. The weight went down again a few days later. I decided to put it down to weird hormonal fluctuations. Keep going and see what happens in a few days or by next week.

BleachedJumper · 22/12/2024 09:59

One pound down this week, which is good as there’s been a few festive events with all the rich food and drinking.

I go away on holiday in two weeks and I’m slightly dreading putting a swimming costume on! Even though I’m the lightest I’ve been for years, my bum is a saggy old pancake, and I need to fold my boobs into a bra!

I really need to kick on and do some exercise, I just have zero motivation for it.

I’ve lost weight as this rate without help from MJ in the past but it’s been impossible in the last year or so - I definitely think things have changed - suspect peri menopause (I had a mini screaming fit into an empty room and kicked my bag the other day after becoming infuriated with a parcel issue!). I piled on more than 2 stone in a year and it felt like a runaway train…!

I do like the swim dress options - they hide a multitude of sins!

My 2 year old made the observation ‘saggy bum’ to me the other week! 🫣😬🤣

W6D2
SW:.12.6
CW: 11.7.4
GW: 9.9 ish (may try to lose a couple more in the hope I can settle around here)

I am still on 2.5 because I was doing really well suppression-wise for first three weeks and I was worried about Christmas (and I had a few work away trips that I couldn’t be ill for). But much less suppression now. However I’m still losing. I am struggling to tell the difference between indigestion and hunger 🤦‍♀️ I am putting most of my general uncomfortableness down to indigestion. I have decided as a rule going forward to no longer eat before midday (intermittent fasting is apparently a really healthy way to manage food, although clearly the opinions on these things change all the time). But it does mean I ignore any morning hunger pangs, and then at the moment I am eating less for lunch.

Has anyone else found it has missed up your periods? For me it is hard to know if it is Mounjaro or perimenopause, or stress, or all of the above (or just perimenopause, given my age would 100% predict it is that).

I’m looking forward to 5ml in January in the hope that I can move to 2lbs a week loss, and IF I get to 1 stone next week (already eating more mince pies than perhaps I should, and had the most delicious cheese for dinner last night), it will be very exciting. But not gaining anything is my real goal for next week.

Wishing you all a good, healthy, guilt free Christmas.

It definitely messed with my period! It was weeks and weeks late (mildly alarming!)

That was really me too! The perimenopause weight gain was exactly that runaway train! And trying to manage it myself was only resulting in tiny losses and then a huge gain again because I felt despondent about the weight gain. I am trying to get used to the transformation I will need to make but my husband doesn’t help because he has zero restraint when it comes to sugary shit. If (!) I get to my goal weight, though, I am NOT going to get back to where I have been. Sugar is my biggest foe. I know eating it makes me hungrier!

phyllidafosset · 22/12/2024 10:31

@Goldleafcat that is me at the moment and no signs of impending arrival! Glad it is perhaps the Mounjaro-Perimenopause thing. It is a really stupid thing, but now I have menopause on the horizon I kind of want to keep my periods 🤣 Very stupid. Although I will be glad to go towards menopause without the gained weight and fitter (exercise regime starting in January!).

My husband is really bad for sugar too. He’s currently eating two Belgian buns a day, having ramped up from two Empire biscuits (the massive ones). He’s quite keen on trying MJ but we can’t afford to both be on it at once. I think if he ever does, it will be a massive shock to his system!

phyllidafosset · 22/12/2024 10:50

@TooExtraImmatureCheddar my husband started on it two months before me and has had really good weight loss but no change to his terrible habits 😔 It really worries me that he is just going to put it all back on.

Ah it’s not stupid at all - they’ve been a part of our lives for decades and even though they are a pain in the bum at times it’ll be a big thing when they finally cease. A very physical reminder of the aging process.

I agree we are definitely doing the right thing at this time - putting ourselves in the strongest position to deal with all the ‘joys’ of menopause.

My personal downfall is bread (all things carby really) and wine.

I’m extremely lazy when it comes to exercise. I’ve put my name down on a waiting list to join a reformer Pilates class in the new year. Eek.

Goldleafcat · 22/12/2024 10:58

Small NSV this morning! Tried on my ‘normal’winter coat which I could barely do up in early November and it fits! My husband watched me try it (after seeing my glum attempt in November) and was shocked too! (In a good way)

Am wearing it today!

I do feel older, I am so much more achy and I know that is also because I am extremely lazy (unmotivated) when it comes to exercising. But it is so much that use it or lose it time of life. I need to build muscle and stretch, and get some fitness. So kind of all of it! I have had a gym membership which I joined September last year and which I haven’t been to for about 14 months. The waste of money is unbearable. I’m also going to do Pilates and Zumba 😁 Starting in January!!!! So we will be slimmed and toned 🤞🤞🤞🤞

You’ve got this. Once you are there you will feel better. It’s getting there that is the first barrier to success.

Try supplementing your gym classes with bite-sized home exercise routines. 10-15 mins every day is completely doable and will help with progress for the longer paid-for classes.
