Hi All, have struggled to keep up with the posts this week as it's been a busy one. Had 2 x Christmas parties along with several work lunches out and a meal out with family last night. Weighed myself yesterday morning and had lost just under 1lb so I'm very happy with that. Fully expected to gain or at best stay the same so anything is a bonus. Looking back at my Nutracheck history I usually put on around half a stone over Xmas so any less than that is a win.
I'm still on 5mg. Took the first dose out of my 2nd 5mg pen yesterday morning. I was unsure whether to stick with 5mg or move up to 7.5 but decided to stick and we'll see how it works. Snacks are creeping in a bit more but I'm not sure if that's due to the dose or just the time of year as cupboards are groaning with the weight of goodies.
When I started my "health kick" at the beginning of this year after being told my blood pressure and cholesterol readings were way too high, I had an idea of where I wanted to be at the end of the year. It was ambitious (too ambitious to have managed without MJ) but then again my targets always were. I always seem to assume I can lose 2lbs per week every week when in reality it's more like 2-3lbs per month. Anyways, I'm 2lbs off the target I set in January - am unlikely to get there but I think it's close enough. All in all I've lost 2 and a half stone through low carb eating and now MJ. Need to lose the same again but I'll be happy just to get out of the obese BMI category and just be overweight. 🙂
For my constipation sisters, if the usual suspects don't work, it might be worth trying "the gut stuff" bars. They are snack bars mainly made with dates I think and pack over 10g of fibre in each one. I like the chocolate and nut one and have one as my snack in the evening. It seems to be enough to keep me moving and helps me hit my fibre goal most days as well.
Who knows if I'll post here again before Xmas - if I don't, have a wonderful time whatever your plans! It will be a fairly quiet one for me with only immediate family around which will be nice. Here's to us all being healthier, happier and slimmer in 2025! 💜
