Onto W6D1 and another 3lbs off. After the 5mg kicking my butt for three days I finally got some semblance of appetite back the day before jab day.

Decided to jab first thing in the morning to see if I could speed up/head off the nausea that floored me last week. Been drinking tons of water and making sure I eat something. Fingers crossed I get through my gym session at 7am tomorrow!

we are away this weekend with friends, then on holiday on Boxing Day for a week, so if I can manage not to put on too much I’ll take that!

3lbs off is fab! Well done!

My DH also just had a contract finish so now has no job. A contract but he was there for 4 years! I think a break will actually do him good, but it comes after a highly stressful difficult work situation for me last year and this year so some stability would also be nice.

Back to the injections, I'm on 5ml but really as hungry as ever and wanting all the unhealthy snacks. Just ate a load of Jaffa cakes and some toast with butter. I'd already had soup and a herbal tea but it wasn't enough. I really hope the suppression comes back soon because I don't want to put the 10lb I've lost so far back on!

That sounds stressful. I hope the new year brings better luck for you both.

@TeenLifeMum I'm also sorry to hear about the redundancy. I also piled the weight on during a round of work stress that coincided with a hysterectomy, so I got two blows at once - I fell off a cliff into menopause, and I was unexpectedly made redundant right before Christmas. Boom!

I hope he finds something better in the new year.

I have indulged in some salty food this week so am carrying some water weight - nothing's gone up, but my weight has "held" despite my appetite continuing to drop. New job is super-absorbing and busy so I'm not finding it too hard to be disciplined about portion sizes and meal times, but Christmas is definitely putting more alcohol and treats in easy reach!

I'm due to go up to 5mg on Friday. I've noticed a big difference today in my hunger levels and sugar/junk cravings.
I'm contemplating bringing it forward to tomorrow and trying 3.75mg then hopefully I can face some Christmas dinner. Has anyone else moved to a day early?

I have moved days one forward or back a couple of times to fit with work/travel commitments, didn’t seems to cause any issues

DarkForces · 19/12/2024 07:29

I'd usually take mine on Tuesday but thinking of delaying until Thursday or splitting the dose. On week 3 of 5mg and side effects have ramped up a bit.

evilharpy · 19/12/2024 07:33

After a slow last week I'm 3lbs down this week so far and have hit my first stone, woohooo!

That is my plan too. However I’m on Wk4 of 5mg and I’m finding the suppression nowhere like it was last week. Now wondering whether to just do it anyway to rein me in from going absolutely berserk, but worried in case it comes back with vengeance and I can’t enjoy my turkey! I have a 7.5mg pen waiting but might just use the ‘bonus’ dose of 5mg. Full of indecision 😅

Well happy news friends in my phone..!

I am today 12st7lb dead. 🥳

Total loss so far 18lbs at W7D4. My goal was to see 12st8 by the end of the week but my tennis lesson was early this week and I think the extra exertion helped the loss. I might move it to mid week in the new year as opposed to a Friday.

Today: 45min incline walk done. 35min Pilates class done. 💪

End of week 5 summary.

1 kilo down

SW 90
CW 81.8

8.2kg loss I am really pleased -also am in the 12 stones (I flit between stone and kg for milestones 😂😂)

I last weighed this 3 years ago, so I’m really happy! Would love to be under 80 by the end of the year.

I love this group and being able to hear other people’s experiences is so helpful!

Ooh. Let us know how you get on with 7.5. I’ve stuck at 5 only because I didn’t want to have side effects right before NYE. Happy with the suppression tho.

I’m so happy :-)

feel much stronger and fit in the gym.

i do have a bit of fatigue for 2 days post injection, but happy to take that as my joints don’t ache anymore.

This stuff is magic taking Mounjaro is the best decision I made!

Am stuck between 3.75 or 5mg today, think I will just bite the bullet and go for 5!

Della82 · 19/12/2024 09:19

Also @Mounjaropen well done on your progress and thanks for keeping the thread going, it’s such an amazing support

WoodsWanderer · 19/12/2024 09:21

Morning all
I'm usually a Friday jabber but I'm going up to 3.75 today. Weighing in a day early but super chuffed with 2.2lbs off especially given I was away last weekend 😊

Week 1 3.6lbs
Week 2 1.8lbs
Week 3 2lbs
Week 4 2.2lbs

Total 9.6lbs - 19.4lbs left to go ish.

I'd hoped to be one of those stone in a month people or at least double figures but I'll take it.
I lost 10lbs pre mounjaro but it took me from Jan up and down and up and down. So I'm looking at starting new year 1.5 stone lighter than last year and I need to appreciate that.
Well done on all the fab losses this week!

Whattodowithaminute · 19/12/2024 09:27

Morning all, great to see losses from fellow Thursday weighers!!

3lbs down this week taking total loss since commenced MJ to 13 lbs

SW 91.4kg
CW 83.1kg
GW 70kg

slightly annoyed (irrationally!) as on daily weights I had hit the 82s this week which would have put me in the 12st region, all will be well and hopefully there’s a little wriggle room for Xmas changes in there.

TeenLifeMum · 19/12/2024 09:33

@RayonSunrise it’s rubbish isn’t it. Dh is very intelligent and able so I’m not concerned he won’t find a new role or be successful and be able to stay where he is, it’s just the unknown period of limbo I can’t cope with. It’s exhausting.

Getting frustrated by lack of movement in the scales. I’m counting every calorie but maybe I’ll get a whoosh. I think I expected w1 of 5mg to be a good one for loss but half way through and nothing. Oh well, I’ll keep going.

I think it is much easier to be honest and accountable in an anonymous forum. Image if this was a FB group and your old school friend or ex was lurking knowing you had become chubby or that you had raging constipation 😂 😱

And it is such a help to know that we can all share tips and little victories - like tights that fit or seeing your fanny for the first time in ages..!

I think be kind to yourself right now. You are going through a stressful time so not emotionally eating and maybe staying the same weight is your win for this week. 💪

I don’t actually feel stressed anymore - it’s gone on so long - so I’m eating really well and very focused on weight loss (maybe as a distraction) but the scales aren’t budging. I know I’m impatient so just having a mini moan. It’ll come off if I don’t give up.

Well done! 3lbs is great. Remember 1 lb of fat is equivalent to 3,500 calories. To lose 3lb you have to have reduced your weekly calorie intake defecit by a whopping 7500 either by eating less or moving more. Fabulous!
