So I jumped on the scales this morning (W5D3) and I had popped down into the next stone zone!! 😀 I haven't seen something beginning with 14st since 2020, when we were about to go into the second lockdown.

It feels like such a milestone because, while I've been overweight most of my adult life, Lockdowns and peri-menopause are what caused my big jump in weight gain. I'll wait until Saturday to log my weight properly but I was so excited I had to share!!

So that's about 12 lbs lost so far in five weeks of MJ, and 19 lbs total with my previous weight loss as well.

What I'd really love is to hit the 1 stone MJ loss and 1.5 stone in total by Xmas.

I'm so pleased that I lost a bit on my own before I started MJ as it always gives me a boost to add that onto my totals! But if you'd told me in September that I could be nearly 1.5 stone down by Xmas I would have laughed at you.

The funny thing is that I don't really believe that I've lost weight - I keep thinking my scales are broken, or someone is playing a trick on me, as I can't really see it yet. But I put a pair of jeans on this morning and I couldn't wear them. They were way too big!!

Amazing! Congratulations!

Total loss to date 1 stone 11lbs / 11.3kg

Bugger Christmas I want to see a 13 at the front of my readings by the new year! I still have another 2 stone 9lb / 16 kg to lose before I join the happy campers in the overweight category

1st11lb is phenomenal. Congratulations!

I’m having occasional coffees but not as many. I’ve moved to green tea or peppermint.

I didn’t weigh yesterday after Sunday’s Bath trip but today I stepped on the scales and I’ve managed to maintain Saturday’s weight. 11st 5lbs.

I don’t expect to get under 11 by Christmas but happy that January will see me hitting the 10s. Still feeling big and don’t seem to have dropped a dress size… but I was probably stretching the size 14s and likely more of a 16 if I’d been honest. I’m curvy so have wide hips and bum. My boobs feel more normal (still a 34E but not the 34GG they’d reached).

I still have a stone to lose before reaching healthy bmi, but do they stop the mj as soon as you hit that or can you get into the middle of healthy before they stop prescribing?

Congrats! I was wondering the same question myself. I do feel like I could probably do it myself now I know I don't NEED wine or chocolate or crisps or a cheeky Maccy D or anything that isn't nutritiously valid.

Well done!!! It’s so fun when you see that new number on the scales!

I’m not sure when they cut you off - it could depend on the provider.

I plan to keep ordering my next pens as soon as they are available, even if I have a few weeks left, so I have a supply in the fridge in case of delivery delays, or wanting to continue for another month.

I’ve still got a way to go. Despite losing 19 lbs my BMI is still 31, so another 2-3 stone to go. But focusing on the small wins, so the long journey doesn’t feel overwhelming.

Am going to have to go to the January sales and get some smaller clothes though!!

I think most prescribers let you keep going until you’re in the middle of a healthy weight eg BMI 22 or thereabouts.

I’m the same with clothes - definitely haven’t dropped a dress size yet, but I was choosing only the biggest/most forgiving of that size. Everything I own is a size 12, but I have a huge range of 12s and some are now loose and some are still too tight to wear. I just tried on my Levi’s and they now do up (if I lie on my back while trying) but they are eye wateringly tight with massive muffin top. They’re definitely my goal jeans. I’ve lost 11lbs, and I reckon I’ll need to lose the same again to fit into those.

My boobs have shrunk too - I started running to warm up for a gym class yesterday and thought oooh, this sports bra isn’t really doing its job! Maybe time to dig out some smaller ones.

Cantbesure · 17/12/2024 10:12

I've just taken my bonus dose and had a bit of a freak out over the size of the needle. I used a link from a thread here and it's an insulin needle so is ok to use subcutaneously but I think I will look for smaller needles next time. Trying to distract myself from the panic. Drew about 0.7 so an increased dose too.

I have had 3 meals out and drinks (eating loads less, drinking about the same as usual) and need to wobble my head about a half pound loss this week. Normally I'd be gaining. Overall I'm 9lbs down in 4 weeks. 5lbs of this in week 1.

piscofrisco · 17/12/2024 10:40

@BleachedJumper Thankyou for explaining how to take the reduced dose from the 5mg pen . Finally did it this morning and it was simple after you explained how. I've gone to 3.75 as I've been fine on 2.5 (but with a bit of reduced suppression towards the end of the week) and I don't want to go up to 5 too quickly as I feel like it might curse me with the side effects all in one go!
So week 5 for me now, 6 really as I've been late jabbing a few of the weeks.
I've dropped a jeans size in that time, which is good enough for me!

I finally scanned my body using the methreesixty app recommended upthread. Absolutely did not think my waist was 37inches at all, but a tape measure confirmed it is 😩 Body fat 38%. I think I might have some sort of reverse body dysmorphia where I think I’m waaay thinner than I really am 😂

I'm intrigued by this but honestly don't know if I have the courage to actually put my stats in yet

MsRumpole · 17/12/2024 11:10

PS I'd love a 37 inch waist...

Goldleafcat · 17/12/2024 11:47

@Mounjaropen Thank you for the skincare tips! Definitely going to look at introducing vitamin C and retinol to my routine. Will also start making an effort to cleanse my skin properly - I’m so lazy with it that I often use facewipes!

I have that too then I pass a mirrored shop front and think Holy Mother of God who is that fat old woman 😂

Ralala · 17/12/2024 12:40

Wow! After feeling horrible for two days I have woken up feeling great! Managed to eat just smaller portions and the sickness and diarrhoea stopped! Hurrah!!

I still don’t know what I’m going to do moving forwards as it was a grim 48 hours . Back to 2.5mg but then I don’t feel anything from it. 3.75mg feels good today. Suppression in that I’m not snacking and having smaller meals. The 5mg made me feel horrendous. Maybe I do 2.5mg with it being Xmas next week. I’m due to jab again on Saturday

I completely missed the new thread!

I started on 5mg on Sunday. No real side effects so far, felt a bit sick this morning but I think that was more to do with the fact I'd been awake since 3 and was exhausted. I lost 10lbs in the 4 weeks I was on 2.5mg, and only 1lb in the fourth week, which I know is decent in the grand scheme of things but it's hard not to compare against the "I lost 3 stone in a week" people.

womanjustwanttohavefun · 17/12/2024 13:39

Finally seen a 9 on the scales so very very happy

1st pen 2.5mg £112
1. 27/10 11st 1 3/4
2. 2/11 10st 10 1/2. 5 1/4 loss
3. 10/11 10st 9. 7 3/4loss
4. 18/11 10st 7 1/2. 9 1/4loss
5. 24/11 10st 6 3/4 10lb
2nd pen 3.75mg £145
6. 2/12 10st 6 10 3/4 loss
5mg dose
7. 8/12 10st 2 3/4 14 loss.

8. 15/12 9st 13 3/4. 1st 3lbs

Been tired and dizzy this week but have had a UTI. 3 days antibiotics but still tired and dizzy. Hope it's not the pen.

Able to eat more at the moment but nothing sweet as it turns my stomach.
If I eat anything greasy I feel sick as well

lostinchaos · 17/12/2024 13:50

I've been experiencing sore eyelids on and off for a couple of weeks, but last night my eyes were feeling very sore and this morning they were so swollen I could hardly open them. I went to the gp who has prescribed antihistamines but they haven't yet taken the swelling down yet and I'm worried it means my mj journey is over, assuming it's the cause of the swelling. I was meant to do my 4th jab today but too scared to do it now. I have my 5mg pen in the fridge too... it's so frustrating.

I know what you mean, I lost slightly over 7lbs in my first 3 weeks and felt the same. Currently halfway through my last week on 2.5.

Oh dear. Horrendous diarrhoea and vomiting all night. Awful stomach pains. I think my Mounjaro journey needs to end. I only injected 3.75 and my body is reacting again to like it was 5mg.

So sorry Ralala 😢 how are you feeling today? Hope you feel better soon x

Weird side effect, but has anyone else noticed coffee tasting different? I love coffee but beyond being good or bad it just tasted like coffee to me. Now I can taste a lot of different, spicy notes in it. My palette doesn't see to have changed with anything else, just coffee.

I rarely used to drink coffee but now it’s my go to on MJ! Really love the taste. Weirdly gone off tea a bit which used to be my staple. Strange and wonderful chemistry this! 😂

I started in the 15’s too Pumpkinforever and I was very excited to see 13.13 on my scales yesterday! Has been a looooong time since I’ve seen the 13’s so is a huge milestone win! (That is the only Christmas present I’ve been wanting tbh!)

Keep going - that 13 number is just around the corner!

I know it’s a long way to just overweight but let’s keep trucking, every pound counts! I heard it said once that with every lb lost it is the equivalent of 4 lbs off the knees (in terms or pressure) which is v encouraging :)

Ooh I might try some tea then in case it's working in reverse for me! I like the concept of tea but find it very meh as a drink.
