@Goldleafcat I knew compulsive exercise avoidance would pay off eventually 😂. I don't think cortisol is really my issue. I'm just impatient!

DarkForces · 10/12/2024 15:58

I'm having chicken breast, butternut squash and green beans with a simple homemade marinade for dinner.
Planning just have a small portion and use leftovers for lunch tomorrow.

TeenLifeMum · 10/12/2024 16:47

Busy day so so far I’ve only had sliced banana, grapes and chia seeds. I was going to eat my Greek yogurt but as it’s nearly home time, I’ll wait and cook dinner as soon as I get home.

Dinner: chicken, stir fry veg and noodles with soy sauce.

week 4 suppression seems stronger than week 3 but I’m wondering if that’s due to the site I chose to jab. I usually do tummy (as that’s what I did post C-section with those injections so felt comfortable with that), but last week I tried thigh. Back to tummy and I’ll stick with that now judging but today.

Cantbesure · 10/12/2024 17:29

Oh my. Just had a protein shake (diet whey protein) and it has gone right thru me. Not a pleasant experience. Won't be having any more of that!

Goldleafcat · 10/12/2024 18:12

@DarkForces haha I agree with you on the exercise front!

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 10/12/2024 18:44

The amount people are eating is very interesting! I’m aiming for two meals of between 350-600 calories a day, so come in at roughly 800-1000 a day. 1200 at a push. However it sounds like a lot of you are eating much less. And then some folk are cutting carbs as well. I’m not because I need to recalibrate portion sizes around carbs - a major cause of regain in the past has been losing weight by going low-carb and then eating sandwiches/pasta/carby snacks again when I stop.

Della82 · 10/12/2024 18:55

I’m having a max of 1300 calories, low carbs as I don’t lose weight as well when I eat them.

im trying to burn 300 active calories a day and my TDEE is about 1700 so I am in a definite deficit daily

I think the challenge for me will be when I get to a healthy weight how do I maintain it. I’m an emotional eater and struggle with portion size. I need to learn what is appropriate for me, which I think will be hard

I’m eating quite a lot too, as not got much suppression at the moment.

today I have had

porridge sachet with scoop of protein powder, unsweetened soya milk, berries, dollop of vanilla soya yogurt

small bowl of homemade veg and lentil soup

odd dinner: stir fried kale, a tofu hot dog (no bun), a few homemade potato wedges, large dollop of sloppy joe sauce, gherkins.

feeling quite full now and hope I haven’t overdone it today.

TeenLifeMum · 10/12/2024 19:04

I’m aiming for 1200 with some days less and some more. I’ve mostly cut out bread and pasta but had noodles tonight. Also having some veggie days to. Meant to add chicken to the stir fry tonight but couldn’t be bothered so veggies and noodles it was. Family didn’t even mention it.

namechangedyetagain · 10/12/2024 19:22

Do you think I could have a bit of toast for dinner? Bought some sourdough and I quite fancy some toast. I've had a Greek yoghurt and half carton of soup today so far.

namechangedyetagain · 10/12/2024 19:22

But I'd feel so guilty eating bread as I've steered clear for a while.

Did you steal the bread from an orphan? If not there is no need for guilt, it's just food! It sounds like you've barely had 500 cals so far today - eat!

namechangedyetagain · 10/12/2024 19:33

Ha! No 😁
I'm just not sure what I'm supposed to be eating

TeenLifeMum · 10/12/2024 19:42

I’m currently contemplating a slice of toast and a cup of tea. I’m hungry but not sure what I want… oooh maybe cereal. 🤔

Demjay · 10/12/2024 19:44

Nooo they eggy burps are back 😣😣😣

PinkArt · 10/12/2024 19:58

I realise that pep talk would have backfired if you had indeed nicked the bread@namechangedyetagain 😂
The overall advice seems to be lots of proteins and veg but given we're all working on ongoing better food habits too, I think we all (definitely including myself here) need to let go of bread, chocolate etc being 'bad' and them being totally fine, in moderation, as part of a healthy diet.
I'm still eating treat stuff but like those thin people I always hated who 'just have a square of dark chocolate and that's enough for me'. I've got one of those cartons of M&S fake Quality Street. Pre+Mounjaro I'd have curled up on the sofa with the carton, now I'm happy with one or two and they're lasting a ridiculously long time.

Oceangreyscale · 10/12/2024 20:02

Ah well I've had two mince pies, some stollen and a few chocolate fingers today.
Suppression doesn't seem to be working too well!
I feel like it's ok though so long as that's not every day.
I'm not aiming to drop this weight as fast as humanly possible, I'm ok with slower and steady and hopefully keep it off.

I’m eating 1000-1200 and usually closer to 1200. It’s a lot less than normal and I want to be able to reduce it future if I plateau. It’s the amount that TDEE calculators suggested.

Caffeinequeen91 · 10/12/2024 20:14

Does anyone have a good set of food scales to recommend? Mine are old and keep needing those little circle batteries.

Dreamqueen · 10/12/2024 20:16

Treats have crept back in. Week 6 day 5. Slowly over the weekend I've been allowing myself more treats. I bought some Christmas food stuff last week and have been slowly dipping into it. Nowhere as much as I would pre MJ but realised that it's not a good idea. Not craving normal food but had a florentine and cabbage for dinner tonight. It's the sugar calling me isn't it? I'm going to put Christmas food away out of sight and get back normal food tomorrow.

BleachedJumper · 10/12/2024 20:17

I vary my calorie intake over the week. I’ve done fasting previously and enjoyed it, so some days are quite reduced calories, around 300/600 and then other days are probably touching 2,000, especially when I’ve had a few wines, which unfortunately do contain calories!

Im very petite/short so my ideal is probably 1,200 as a maintenance/very slight deficit.

I think this is a sustainable approach for my lifestyle, and how I see a lot of ‘naturally slim’ people live, where they can have a weekend treat type day, but it doesn’t become a treat week.

What have you eaten today? Maybe we can put heads together and find be culprit.

RayonSunrise · 10/12/2024 20:26

Hello all! D2 of my first week of 5mg, and I'm still feeling pretty good. I ended up missing lunch today (I was in meetings while the canteen was open) but wasn't floored with hunger as I would have been in the past. I was quite hungry when I arrived home, but wasn't moved to really stuff in compensation.

lostinchaos · 10/12/2024 20:26

Does anyone else struggle to resist the munchies in the evening? I've been so good all day but decided to put on a Christmas movie and now all I can think about is having something to eat. It seems to be the one time that it doesn't switch off the food noise in my head.

Edited

Weirdly I might be able to help with this as I've not had them yet. To help my IBS I roughly follow the fodmap diet - it's meant for elimination but every time I try to reintroduce my tummy says no so I've just continued it. I don't usually eat onions, garlic, pulses, dairy with lactose in. Could one of those be the culprit?
