Thank you to everyone who shared their experiences of alcohol on Mounjaro - I had a bit of a rubbish day yesterday so was very ready for a few glasses in the evening. I was noticeably slower at finishing my drinks than I would normally be, but still managed to sink a fair few and didn’t feel any worse than I would have done pre-MJ. I did feel very dehydrated when I got up this morning, which was reflected with a 2lb loss from yesterday that I’m not expecting to stick around now I’ve had several pints of water! It’s nice not to be spending the day planning (obsessing) what takeaway I’m going to have later which normally goes hand in hand with a night out. Instead I’m going to do a roast as a mini test run for Christmas Day.

Congratulations to everyone who’s lost this week, and positive thoughts to those who haven’t / have yet to weigh in.

I left a glass of wine unfinished yesterday. Unheard of previously...!

Hi all hope you are all doing well

I was MIA for a week or so due to work and life chaos.

Week 3 done and didn't lose last week. I only took 1.25mg due to side effects so have gone back to 2.5mg this week.

11lbs down so far although all in first two weeks. Hopefully will be back in the game this week!

11lbs is a great result in 2 weeks!

Hi! After a long time ruminating about it, I started my Mounjaro journey this Thursday and I hope I can join. My weight is 88kg/hight 164 cm. I’ve lost 2 kg since starting but I know it’s due to stress mainly lol I have mild appetite suppression, for the first time I can stick to my calorie deficit. I do get hungry but I don’t reach for treats and snacks. Have no idea if it’s psychological or physical (I’m obviously only on 2.5 mg as I’m a new starter). I’m with Voy and like the subscription aspect and knowing when my next dose is delivered but I don’t see the point in their “coaching” (once I tried to reach for my coach through WhatsApp it was literally an AI bot, shameful…)

Welcome!

End of week 5 and I have lost 2lbs this week.
My total loss since starting MJ is 17lbs. I have 34lbs still to lose to scrape into a healthy BMI! I am still not sure that would be possible.
I have a new 5mg pen to start today but am going to try 3.75mg by counting clicks.

Well done everyone.

Well done you! Amazing loss for 5 weeks!

Hi everyone I don't think I've posted since W1! I am W2 D3, lost 6lbs in week 1! which I'm thrilled with. Not much movement since though. Bit nervous about the upcoming week as I have 3 social events (very unusual for me) all involving food.

CW 12st 4lb
SW 12 st 10lb
GW 9st 7lb

that's a great result, well done!

W5 D4

SW 127.8kg
GW 80kg

CW 123kg

Total loss so far. 4.8kg

Had a major stall in the two weeks pre and during my period. Scales told me I'd put a kilo on when I weighed last Wednesday.

Weighed this morning and it's all dropped off and more.

Such a boost for your confidence - previously I'd have given up once the scales went the wrong way - MJ has definitely given me the ability to keep going.

Hi everyone well done on the recent losses posted! Some more fabulous results!

I'm on jab 5 today, stuck to my 2.5 as I've had some big losses and didn't want to up it too soon! Or be too suppressed over Christmas.

This week's been my hardest so far so pleased with my results.
Weekly loss - 6lb
Total in 5 weeks - 52lb / 3 stone 10lb

This is just truly fantastic! You must feel amazing!

I’ve just jabbed and weighed in tonight, jab number 6. I did a second 3.75. I’ve now lost just over a stone which I’m happy with, long may it continue.

Wonderful - a stone! Just a boost to how you must feel.

Hi all - looking for reassurance really I'm on my fifth week and moved up to 5mg, in total I have only lost 7 pounds. I see much bigger losses and just feel really disheartened. I am eating around 1500 calories but maybe I need to reduce?

Can you share what you are eating in that 1500 calories? Macros are as important as total calories. What is your TDEE?

Happy Monday all!

a little disgruntled today that the scales have shot up by 1.6lbs :(

I’ve stuck to my 30 mins exercise a day with a treadmill session Saturday and swimming yesterday.

Admittedly food tracking has been a bit lax over the weekend but didn’t think I’d gone much over calories.

Official 4 week weigh is an 11.5lb loss on my first pen so overall I’m still happy with that. Let’s get back to business on my second pen and see where that leads.

Todays plan:

B:Porridge
L: Soup
D: Out with friend - will research menu online and choose beforehand

🏃‍♀️ 30 min boxing on VR when LO naps

hope everyone else had a great weekend and is set up for a good week! X

I've had a big weekend so I am fully expecting the scales not to have moved at all.

Menu today:

Boiled egg at lunch time with my usual 4 Mejool dates
Dinner is pork fillet Stroganoff made with paprika, creme fraiche, chestnut mushrooms, baby new potatoes and steamed broccoli.
I need to use up some eggs so will also make the caraway seed cake I didn't get round to making last week....

@OliviaFlaversham I've also just done my 2nd 5 mg and I think I'm going to stick with it for the next pen. I've had awful heartburn and fullness this weekend. I also had a latte, which I've been steering clear of and I feel rubbish after.

I'd been debating it, probably because my loss is slow (now at 1st after 6 injections) but actually I've been trying to lose weight for a long time and not managing so a stone is actually great.

Indeed - I was out with friends this weekend and they could really see the difference and I am at a total loss of 16lbs as of last week.

Morning everyone!

W5D1 - first shot of 5mg taken this morning (couldn’t get the extra 2.5mg out and wasn’t farting around with using a different needle to get it, so I took it as a sign to go up!)

SW 16st 7
CW 14st 13
GW 11st ish

That’s another 4lb down and 22lb in 4 weeks - I am fully aware I am one of the lucky ones that responds really well to the injections (for now). My post-alcohol dehydration loss did vanish (as expected!!) and I managed a decent portion of my roast dinner yesterday.

I think week was the first time ever I didn’t comfort eat during my period, which is a massive win for me. And I can now take my jeans off without undoing them, which proves to myself that the weight is actually shifting - apparently my brain doesn’t associate the numbers reducing as proof that it’s working.

Am so close to my next mini-goal - 10kg off (yes I swap between st and kg to make myself feel better!!) and am hoping for a total of 2st off by Christmas.

Hope everyone had a good weekend!

Fantastic loss - well done!

Morning
Hope everyone is feeling motivated this Monday.
Scales finally started moving by Friday and I'm 1.45kg down for the week, have gone back through my weights and it's actually 6.85kg down in 6 weeks so an average of a kilo a week which makes the two weeks without losses much easier to bear.

@TooExtraImmatureCheddar I can't imagine being the low end of a healthy weight either, and I fully anticipate maintaining somewhere in the overweight zone. Thinking I was fat at 9 stone as a teen is what got me here today.

Great loss for the week! I doubt I've shed a pound this week, but we live in hope!

Morning all congrats on the fab losses; lashing of support for those with stubborn plateaus.

Weigh day today

SW 13st 6lb
CW 12st 0lb
GW 9st 7lb.

Total loss 20lb and 10% of my total starting body weight off. I believe that's considered a health goal.

3 1/2" off my waist as of this morning from starting measurements. Still nobody has noticed or commented on weight loss.

Probably because I'm wearing thick wintery clothes, still freezing all the time.

Continue with the Joe wicks workouts each morning, definitely feel fitter.

Another 4lb off this week W7 D1 today 2nd 5mg last night. Feel a bit meh this morning not quite nausea but no interest in food and sure I can still feel last nights meal still in my stomach 🤢. Katsu curry & rice so it could be the heavy starch.

I'm investing in some fibre supplements today sorry for the TMI but constipation nearly finished me off over the weekend, hoping it's enough to keep me regular.

Still drinking loads of water on the plus side my skin has never looked as good.

20lbs is an amazing result. Congratulations!

Just found a TDEE calculator and it says my ideal weight is between 110 and 123lbs - that’s 7 stone 12 to 8 stone 11! I was aiming for 9 stone 7. Can’t actually imagine my weight starting with a 7, that’s crazy. Mind you I’ve just remembered that in the original Bridget Jones book, she’s usually 8 stone 12 and gets cross if she hits 9 stone 5. I read it as a teenager and I thought 9 stone was fat then. Oh how the mighty have fallen!

I haven't looked at the 'ideal' number in ages as it's felt so far away. Mine is 9.5-10st, which does sound quite low at 5'7". It's basically half what I started to lose from, which is too depressing to contemplate, but it's also going back to what I weighed as a teen. Even if it is scientifically right, it seems kind of nuts that it would suggest my teen weight is my ideal as a perimenopausal woman in my mid 40s.

A few years ago my dad got down to the weight he was age 19. He was so chuffed… he looked like a frail old man. 5 years on he’s put a bit back on and looks so much better and younger.

Is being cold a side effect?

I do have a history of being cold but this is worse than ever. Last night I was so cold it hurt and I had to force myself to get up to put on a oodie to sleep in. I was in pjs. Our house is newish and dh assures me the thermostat is correct as it feels 21 degrees yet I’m so so cold right now.

It is a known side effect. My hot water bottle stays with me at all times at the moment 😂

Thanks @Mounjaropen i didn’t see that but maybe I was too focused on the potential sickness. I’ve requested a heated blanket for Christmas.

I’m really wishing the week away to Saturday and being maybe 2lbs lighter.

Ralala · 09/12/2024 14:20

Hello all,
injected 2.5 from my 5 pen yesterday for week 6. Feeling back to full health after a horrendous week last week. Still no idea if it was a reaction to 5mg or a bug or a combination but 2.5 was the sensible approach for me this week. If all goes well I will try 3.75mg for next week .

i haven’t weighed this week as I weighed on Tuesday last week. I normally weigh every 10-14 days. Last weigh in I was 14lbs down on week 5

fubard · 09/12/2024 14:52

Hi all!
Took my Golden dose of 2.5mg on Thursday which equated to another 0.6ml so effectively a 5mg dose. I was a bit apprehensive as I had my work Xmas party on the Friday but no need to be, felt absolutely fine.
Saturday and yesterday didn't feel hungry at all and really had to make the effort to eat.

I went to the gym yesterday and did a leg day which I'm really feeling today!!

20lb is bloody brilliant. Well done you! I have a (totally unscientific) theory that as I have cycled up and down the same 15-20lbs over the last few years that no one is really going to notice my weight loss until I get lower than that. I’m currently on 10lbs lost so I have a way to go before I see “new” ground.

namechangedyetagain · 09/12/2024 18:01

Have had an awful weekend with feeling sick through I think overeating. Had Xmas meal out and even though I didn't eat an entire course, bits of a 3 course dinner was just too much. Yesterday I had an omelette and then some fish, peas and a spoonful of mash. Was just so much food compared to the tiny amounts I've been eating. Back to half a carton of soup today and just thinking about dinner. Christmas will be fun!

JasonTindallsTan · 09/12/2024 19:38

Hi all, I took my last 2.5mg jab last week and new pen being delivered tomorrow. Suppression is almost non existent today so I’m definitely ready to move up.

TeenLifeMum · 09/12/2024 21:39

@JasonTindallsTan I’ve taken my 4th jab (yesterday) and suppression is there but nothing like what it was and my sweet tooth is sneaking through. I think I will need to move up to 5 next week. We’re out all Sunday in Bath and going for dinner so I’m thinking - do I risk it and take it in the morning or wait until I get home at 11pm ish?
