I was just thinking about how thirsty I was. My skin feels dry too but that might be the central heating as I'm drinking plenty and barely touching alcohol. Massive suppression today and yesterday and really not fancying food. Had a banana for lunch and no breakfast

Novjaro · 07/12/2024 12:36

Congrats @JasonTindallsTan! I would wave my flabby arms in celebration but fear it might just add to today’s awful weather!

15st 13.4lb!!!

I raised my flabby arms and shook them with glee over the top of my head 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻

Woohoo!! Well done

Guess when I took the plunge and started the jabs!

This may be unrelated... but the skin on my eyelids has become dry and sensitive. Has anyone else experienced this?

Yes, I had quite dry eyes in the first week and apparently this is a side effect of Mounjaro. It can also be a side effect of peri menopause but I don't know if that's relevant to you !

Ralala · 07/12/2024 14:08

I’m going to do the reduced 2.5mg from my 5mg pen today. No way I can do 5 mg again and have another week like last week. I haven’t weighed myself today even though it’s jab day because I weigh usually every 10/12 days as I don’t seem to drop weight weekly. I’m a whoosh weight loss person for sure!

OliviaFlaversham · 07/12/2024 14:16

Weekly weigh in and injection. Second 5ml dose today.
starting BMI 50.4
Week 1 weigh in -14lbs
Week 2 weigh in -9lbs
Week 3 weigh in -5lbs
Week 4 weigh in -3.5lbs
Week 5 weigh in - 7lbs
current BMI 44.3

Unexpected whoosh this week. Am not feeling any different in terms of suppression on 5 compared to 2.5. Could easily binge (which I did in the week) and am using a LOT of will power.

Oceangreyscale · 07/12/2024 14:46

Those who had bad side effects when moving up to 5mg, when did they kick in? I did the injection this morning and feel fine after a few hours so just wondering if that means nothing or means I'll probably be fine.

I did the 5mg for the first time at about 4pm... that night awoke circa 3am feeling I was going to be sick. I wasn’t. Had a lot of pressure like my food just hadn’t gone down. Next morning I felt a bit delicate. Subsequent 3 days since then I’ve felt pretty good no major issues just super strong suppression.

Invisablepanic · 07/12/2024 16:20

Last week I took my first 5mg Friday afternoon and woke up sat a little nauseous, better once I'd had a small breakfast. Similar the next day but I didn't really feel different to the 2.5.

Just taken my second 5 yesterday afternoon and I woke up like @Babymamamama just feeling full and lots of heartburn. Upper stomach today has just felt full and uncomfortable, I've only had a small yoghurt today but can't face anything else.

evilharpy · 07/12/2024 17:11

W3 d6. I've ordered my 5ml to start next week but still have a week to go on 2.5ml. Still no interest in food. No food noise, eating only when hungry, never actually fancy or look forward to anything which is weird but welcome. I think I've lost about 8lbs over the 3 weeks. Possibly a bit more but I've baselined it from when I got new scales.

TeenLifeMum · 07/12/2024 19:05

Anyone else worried about Christmas week? I’m staying with my parents 25-27 Dec and dm doesn’t do small portions (absolutely doesn’t know about the jab and I’m not going there). I think I’ll have to say “I’m really full.. I’ll have some later” then not have any. Or, pile it into dh’s plate discreetly.

I did my first 5mg on Monday morning; it was a day and a bit early but I had no suppression at all.
Was fine mon, by tues I was quite lightheaded and had a bit of a headache. Settled as the week went on.
I've had full suppression again this week could go a full day and eat nothing if I chose to.
Had a few meals that I could still feel sitting heavy in my stomach the next morning.
Oh and constipation has come back with a vengeance too.
Other than that all good plan to continue with 5mg but probably gonna take it sun night and hopefully sleep through side effects.

StarShapedWindow · 07/12/2024 19:14

@TeenLifeMum I’ve been worrying about that too. I’m going to say I’ve been dieting and can’t eat too much because I’ve got used to smaller portions. I hate the fact I have to eat for other people’s sake - DH very kindly brought me a glass of Prosecco this evening and I really don’t want it but feel such a killjoy so will slowly sip.

Following dh’s error cooking me chicken nuggets etc (which I don’t usually eat even when not on a diet because mushed up battery hens isn’t my thing 🤢), he’s been amazing and very supportive. I know he’ll help but dm is also an amazing cook and hard to say no to. We’ll leave before lunch on the 27th so it’s only 2 days.

Demjay · 07/12/2024 19:40

Well done @JasonTindallsTan !!!

So injection day here. This is end of week six and I lost another 2.5 lbs this week, taking the total over six weeks to 20lbs :).

Bad news is I somehow completely messed up the jab today. No idea how much liquid I got but it def wasn’t the full 5mg dose. I hope this doesn’t completely wreck my progress 😭

I also noticed I had really dry eyelids a few weeks ago but didn’t make a connection. They’re fine now.

BeNavyScroller · 07/12/2024 20:38

Week 2 day 2

I'm down about 8lb which is fantastic so far.

Suppression has been good so far and I’ve not touched alcohol, which is a nice side effect.

I didn’t leave the needle in the extra 5 seconds - will that have affected my dose much?

Why don't you say you're trying to lose weight and eating smaller portions? No need to mention the jab. Or does she get weird about weight loss efforts?

I'm a little bit worried as I'll be going abroad with different foods etc, out of my usual routine, and do wonder how people will react to me saying no to things, like 'what do you mean you aren't having dessert?'

But on the plus side plenty of time to be active outdoors so fingers crossed.

To be fair, I’ve been trying to lose weight for the last 2.5 years (very stressful situation triggered my weight gain) so it understandably falls on deaf ears. It also all tastes so good, I find it hard to say no. Maybe mj will stop that. It’ll be a serious test.

You could have had a bit of a noro thing that you're conveniently recovered from but that's made you lose your appetite a bit?

Arglefraster · 07/12/2024 22:54

@JasonTindallsTan 🎉🥳🎉🥳🎉🥳

After the horrific sulphur burps yesterday in the interest of science 🤓 I ate exactly the same food today as I did yesterday until mid afternoon. The only difference was that today I drank 3 pints of water (usually 2 but was very motivated to avoid the burps).

Results - no horrible burps!!

So based on my n=1 experiment if anyone is suffering it might be worth trying to start the day with lots of water 😃

Week 3 injection done.

SW 12st 11lb
GW don’t have one - just to feel and look better!
CW 12st 3lb

Very pleased with 8lb down in two weeks. My BMI is edging closer to not being in the obese category.

Congratulations!
