Ok I’m at the end of day 1 on 5mg (having completed month 1 on 2.5). Did the injection last night. The suppression has kicked in good and strong OMG. Felt a bit sick in the night last night but all good today. Full of vim (if not actual food). I’m going to have to force myself to have some dinner. Didn’t fancy breakfast or lunch at all. I honestly don’t recognise myself at this point.

WellyBootsandPuddleSuits · 06/12/2024 18:18

How has everyone coped with drinks while on Mounjaro? I have had maybe 3 glasses of wine over the past month on separate occasions, with no ill effects, but tomorrow night I’m meant to be going out for Christmas drinks with friends. Normally I can hold my own all night, but that’s often because I’ve had a big meal beforehand (and I’ve had a steady supply of wine throughout the week!!) - am a little worried I’ll be on the floor after a couple of glasses, or it’ll make me feel sick! Even worse, that I won’t want a wine 😲 (lighthearted…maybe…)

I’ve been fine drinking……too fine if I’m honest.

RayonSunrise · 06/12/2024 18:45

@WellyBootsandPuddleSuits - I had my works drinks this week and found I LOVED my first margarita, but didn't feel the need to finish my second one. I also had a bowl of delicious street food that I didn't need to finish. In the end I gestured with my unfinished second drink all evening and I don't think anyone really noticed how little I actually had!

PinkArt · 06/12/2024 18:46

Its not affected me at all booze-wise, either my interest or ability to drink it.

@JasonTindallsTan dont bother weighing yourself for a day or two.

I know that would have been the sensible thing to do. But realistically I’ve never been sensible 😂😂

Weighed myself 5 minutes ago and I’m 16 stone on the nose. Maybe tomorrow will be the day???!

Caffeinequeen91 · 06/12/2024 19:46

I had half a bottle of wine last night. No issues.

JasonTindallsTan · 06/12/2024 19:49

Re the drinking I had no problem drinking last night but it definitely helped me not go wild with the munchies.

Arglefraster · 06/12/2024 20:16

Sorry it's not worked out for you@Jabtastic but it sounds like a positive decision

arrggh @JasonTindallsTan I'm this close to sending a wee helium balloon to you 😆

My turn for the sulphur burps- so so so much worse than I could ever have imagined.
was the consensus peppermint oil capsules?

Interestingly I drink 2 pints of water on waking & this is the only day that got messed up (& for me I was very under hydrated most of today) so I'm wondering if extra water is the key...

My experience is mixed. Last Thurs I went out for my work night out and drank all evening with no issues. The hangover was appalling, but that might have happened anyway, tbf. I was on day 7/8, though, having delayed the jab I should have taken on Thurs morning. I took it on Sat after the hangover wore off.

However, I jabbed this morning and I’m struggling to drink prosecco this evening. It tastes lovely but I’m just too full. This is so odd! I’ve never drunk so slowly in my life. I’ve been nursing one glass for an hour.

Oh no Arglefraster not the dreaded burps! I’ve not had them so far but heard that peppermint is helpful, I don’t know if this helps for burps but have sometimes been taking papaya digestive enzymes after meals (when I’ve had a heavy full feeling) and has helped a bit.
Yeah I think hydration plays a big part. Hopefully they settle down overnight!

Thanks @KeepCalmandGiveItaGo I'm very much hoping they vanish soon! I assume papaya has some interesting enzymes like kiwis do? Kiwi capsules were the only thing that saved me from horrible pregnancy heartburn.

I solemnly promise will never miss my 2 pints again regardless of where I need to drive to 🤣🙈

Mounjaropen · 06/12/2024 21:22

Jabtastic · 06/12/2024 12:20

So I did indeed cancel my jabs @KeepCalmandGiveItaGo but I'm cheering you all on. I basically start feeling like a normal human being again the day I'm due to jab and this week I couldn't bring myself to inject myself and voluntarily be miserable for a week. I also have a job that makes diarrhea a hazard. Once I stopped my symptoms have abated and it may just be that MJ and I aren't for each other.

I may drop in from time to time to say hi and I may even start again in the New Year with a very clear plan for a very clean diet. At the minute life has too much juggling BUT MJ did help me break out of a really bad period of stress binge eating and I'm grateful for that. It may ultimately help me eat better even off it.

Good luck all x

Good luck! Look forward to catching up with you when you are ready again. Happy Christmas!

Fingers crossed you do a giant poo and the scales move @JasonTindallsTan !

TeenLifeMum · 06/12/2024 22:42

I love when the scales tip to start with the next number down! Good luck @JasonTindallsTan

We’re in the red warning zone for the storm and I’m on call for work this weekend. Picked a bad shift for that one. I really want to hibernate with a massive cheese board and a glass of wine… I’ll probably have scrambled eggs and prosciutto slices (my new favourite lunch - no eggy burps here thankfully).

BagQueenBee · 07/12/2024 02:24

Week 1 lost 6lb
Week 2 lost 3 1/2lb

So 9 1/2 lb so far, happy with that…..long long way to go, but had no issues.

Just done 3rd jab and feeling positive and so happy to be lucky enough to be able to buy Mounjaro…….

N27 · 07/12/2024 07:11

Wishing you lots of luck for todays weight in @JasonTindallsTan

the scales have been kind today despite yesterday going a little off plan. My usual route was flooded so did an aqua aerobics class instead and was hungry all day afterwards which led to a McDonald’s lunch! Then my new pasta machine arrived on the afternoon so we had home made pasta and meatballs for tea.

todays likely to be a tricky day. Old 2 are at a sleepover so we may go out for dinner with the 18 month old 😬

Caffeinequeen91 · 07/12/2024 09:26

Week 3 injection done.

SW 12st 11lb
GW don’t have one - just to feel and look better!
CW 12st 3lb

Very pleased with 8lb down in two weeks. My BMI is edging closer to not being in the obese category.

BleachedJumper · 07/12/2024 09:56

Last night I had a bit of a NSV, I’ve been very open about being on a bit of a health kick/diet, but I’ve not told anyone I’m using mj.

Two friends at the local pub commented that I was looking well/had lost weight! I can notice in my face is slimmer, but I’ve generally struggled to see the difference even though I can tell my clothes are looser, so it was nice that other people are starting to notice.

I hope everyone is safe with the stormy weather, feel like staying in my pj’s with the Christmas tree lights on and cuddling with the dog on the sofa all day.

Notadream · 07/12/2024 09:58

Does anyone follow Dr Tyna Moore on you tube, she is the reason i decided to jump on the MJ train. I've only lost 7lbs in the past 7 weeks bur historically a slow loser. She advocates GLP-1 for mostly all the heath benefits it brings outside just the weightloss. I completely agree with heron going low on the dose for as long as possible after I experienced going up to 5mg last week, it was brutal and i've gone back down to 2.5 mg this week. She has a video (EP154-How to royally screw yourself when taking Ozempic) which is short and snappy which echos a lot of the thinking on this group in respect of Protein, weights etc to help us on our GLP-1 journeys. I must start training, can't face going to the gym, i'm thinking a kettle bell work out would be a good place to start and i can do that at home.
