Blondeshavemorefun · 17/12/2024 20:22

Well done @WorriedRelative

And @ChunkyMunky that's amazing to drop dress sizes and on 5

So envious of you low responders

ChunkyMunky · 17/12/2024 20:35

@Blondeshavemorefun I’m quite relieved that I respond well to the low doses as I think I would struggle to fund the higher ones, the cheap ones have been a financial stretch as it is. It’s definitely been a worth while investment though, and I don’t think I could have come this far without Mounjaro.

weaseleyes · 17/12/2024 20:46

I do think to some extent it's a decision to stick at a low dose, though, as well as responding differently. I can eat three meals, don't stop halfway through, and haven't felt that complete inability to eat since the first week or so really. I don't crave crisps or chocolate, but that's not because I can't face them, it's because I haven't been eating them and have weaned myself off. If I ate them again I think I'd be finding them hard to resist in no time! I've opted for letting my dose creep up rather than taking a bigger dose and toughing out any side effects. Any time I've crept up a few clicks and felt rough I've put the dose down again. And I do feel MJ has really helped me stick to the diet and weaning myself off things much more than not taking it.

I was really worried about having a lot to lose and running out of doses to try, I really hate feeling sick and dizzy, and I really really find the money a strain and there's a big difference between the doses. So my default has been to stay as low as I can get away with, and others have moved up through the doses in a set pattern. I don't think either way is right, it's just a different approach and obviously we do respond differently too. There's no way I could tolerate feeling as ill as some of you, though! I'd have stopped if I couldn't have found a reasonable balance. I may be a bit of a wmp.

Blondeshavemorefun · 17/12/2024 20:52

Where 5 didn't do anything for me and neither did 7.5 really

10 seems to work so far

Agree it's a cost but I think I had to do it for myself and for dd sake so that I'm a Healthier mum for her as now her and I

I don't know how I got up those hills to school tbh as just carrying dd round the house was hard work

CrazyGoatLady · 18/12/2024 06:45

@Blondeshavemorefun it's interesting how people respond differently to MJ and from what I've seen starting weight doesn't seem to correlate either. I'm definitely a low responder like @ChunkyMunky but got the horrid side effects at a much lower dose as well.

Agree re the cost, but definitely worth it to be healthier.

I'll still be on MJ until early March according to my taper plan, but don't you worry I'll keep popping in even after this thread has been such a great source of support 💕

Blondeshavemorefun · 18/12/2024 07:23

I hope we all pop on @CrazyGoatLady

I do find it fascinating how we are so different in strengths and side effects

Blondeshavemorefun · 18/12/2024 07:24

Awake with growling tummy. Def hungry today and day 6

Need to buy some more porridge pots as have none

Changinghabits1973 · 18/12/2024 09:03

Morning all - hope everyone is ok since my post yesterday...

Well, weigh day and jab day today...

Haven't had a cheeky weigh in since my weigh last Wednesday..
I am shocked...

I have lost 6.6 lb.. how, why, i honestly don't know.. . haven't done anything different at all; have still kept up with the swimming as much as i can even though its been a really busy week but food wise nothing has changed apart from incorporating more squid !
I don't want to jinx it but i feel really good on 10mg; i know it's only my third dose today but now the constipation has eased, i don't feel any significant side effects at all... my mood seems to be better now on this dose and i am sure its helping my mental health also.. as i say i don't want to jink it but am definitely going to stay on this for another pen when i re order at beginning of January;

SW: 19st 5lb
CW: 14st 6lb

Loss: 4 st 13lb

19 weeks on MJ

I have a Xmas meal this lunchtime, around 70 of us which don't get me wrong am so anxious about because of my MH, haven't been to the place before and to be honest i wish it was tonight already... but NSV bought a Zara dress in the charity shop yesterday for £7.00 - it's a black satin wrap knee length dress, long sleeves, and thought when i bought it this will never fit but for a laugh i will try it ... well it did fit !! I am going to wear that with black tights and my patent mid calf black chunky boots !! A look that i have never gone with before, but hey... its christmas and i will certainly look different !! xx

owlyboo · 18/12/2024 10:25

@Changinghabits1973 wow! What a loss well done enjoy your party!

Did my first 12.5 injection yesterday. Last night had a rubbish nights sleep but that's not necessarily related to the MJ. I haven't been able to walk last few weeks since I was poorly as I pulled something in my neck/shoulder and it's been super painful but easing now. So I've got back out to it last few days. Not feeling awful side effects at the moment on the increase. Some nausea.

Hope everyone is enjoying their week. This time next week it'll be Christmas! 🎄🎄

4pink1blue · 18/12/2024 10:49

Well done @Changinghabits1973!!

I've got a trial shift today for a waitresses job and I'm petrified!! I had to quit work to look after my disabled son and so this is massive. I've not worked in years.

owlyboo · 18/12/2024 10:56

Oh good luck @4pink1blue I'm sure you'll do brilliantly!

Blondeshavemorefun · 18/12/2024 11:13

That's an amazing loss @Changinghabits1973 enjoy the party

@owlyboo glad 12.5 going well

Good luck @4pink1blue That sounds hard but equally working and having some you time will be good for you

weaseleyes · 18/12/2024 15:47

Good luck @4pink1blue !!

NippyCrab · 18/12/2024 15:58

@Changinghabits1973 wow that's half a stone 😳 well done that's some woosh! And i hope you have the most fabulous time in your slinky wrap dress too.
@4pink1blue you will smash it today, what sort of establishment is it?
Oh no @owlyboo what did you do to your shoulder, it must be so painful if you haven't walked at all. I'm glad it's getting better.
@ChunkyMunky @CrazyGoatLady @weaseleyes we are sensitive wee MJers 😆 along with @MabelSpan
I'm glad I've not had the actual vomiting and scoots though. That would have finished me off!
Xx

Cheers! Nobody has really commented yet but the change in clothes is great, I really need to try on some older stuff and see whether I can get into things I had put away.

I had a work lunch today so absolutely stuffed!

owlyboo · 18/12/2024 18:28

@NippyCrab no idea! I was ill (d&v) then got the worst pain in the base of my neck. Guessing I slept funny and strained it badly. I'm awful for not taking pain meds but my mum made me start taking ibuprofen 3x a day for last week and it's improved loads. Haven't taken anything last two days and been for 2 4ish mile walks. After doing an hours wrapping earlier I can feel a bit again but nothing major!

Usernamechangeforthis12 · 18/12/2024 20:45

Fingers crossed for you @4pink1blue

Well done @Changinghabits1973 thats a great whoosh! The dress sounds lovely, enjoy.

I need to order another pen but wondering whether to stick to 5 or go down. I’ve taken .4ml of my current 5 yesterday and suppression is so strong today I feel rough. I’ve managed a small dinner and now stuffed and bloated.

I’ve worn an outfit today that I’ve not worn since last winter. I saw myself in the mirror at work in the trousers last year and noted how they were really too tight and didn’t look good. Today they are hanging off me.
One of my colleagues walked past me and double backed as they’d not recognised me because (in her words) I’d lost so much weight and looked great. For the first time today in the works mirror, I saw a difference. I should go to the office more often!!

I’m out tomorrow and going to look for some new, smaller sized clothes!

All crossed

Blondeshavemorefun · 18/12/2024 22:05

Wish I had the suppression of not wanting chocolate or crisps that many of you get

Eaten bacon rashers

And a bag of malteasers

Sighs

WitchDancer · 19/12/2024 07:48

I'm the same @Blondeshavemorefun. There is suppression to a certain extent but it doesn't stop the chocolate and crisps, which is so hard to resist when the rest of the family is happily chomping on them Confused

Blondeshavemorefun · 19/12/2024 08:20

Glad it's not just me @WitchDancer

But sorry you don't either

So many say they can't even look at them

Stamps foot

Why not us 🥲

Blondeshavemorefun · 19/12/2024 08:21

I woke at 6am starving

Day 7

WWJ day tomorrow

Hoping for a loss but after malteasergate last night. Not sure x
