Hey, since we are nearly at 970 posts i thought I'd take a turn and start a new thread...

I've been bobbing around the same kg since the latter half of October @weaseleyes. It all seemed to go wrong when I got a rotten cold that then became pneumonia (asthmatic). I was on steroids and antibiotics for a week during which time my appetite plummeted and I could only face the odd slice of toast or other bland beige food.

For instance this week, I've had 2 days at 1000 cals, one at less than 900 and one at 1268. I tend to look at the weekly picture as my appetite really tanks for a couple of days post injection then I eat a bit more Friday/Saturday.

I'm 5'8 so it must be my lack of movement hindering it even though that has really changed since I began Mounjaro in August.

How much do you need to lose @poppym12 What's your bmi at moment.

BMI is 31.4 now. It started at 36.5. I've lost 15.3kg and probably need to lose the same again @Blondeshavemorefun.

I’m good thanks. Think I’m going to switch up to 10mg though……I’m on my second 7.5mg pen but weight loss been slower over last few weeks and I had a shockingly bad few days at beginning of the week. Had been away all weekend so hadn’t shopped and ordered takeaways 🙈🙈🙈. How are you getting on? Xxx

I'm also wary about jabbing but I don't think it's mj that's making me sick. Just a bug but both bloody ends again

@Blondeshavemorefun hope you feel better soon! There's some horrid bugs going round at the moment. MIL was in hospital with norovirus last week and I've had some sort of virus all week that's had gastro symptoms along with cold like symptoms, so it could be one of the variety of things going about.

@poppym12 sorry to hear about your stall. If your body is in recovery mode from an illness then I guess maybe it compensates for the lack of food by dropping your metabolism. Caloric needs can increase slightly when the body is trying to fight illness but it can also be hard to eat when you're ill/on antibiotics.

Hey, it's been a while but I thought I'd update when I'm at. I'm now on maintenance with oushk, currently on 7.5mg. I'm 4lb away from my goal weight and my BMI has gone from 30 to 22.9. This has been an amazing drug for me, I've had no horrible side effects either. I feel amazing and I'm buying size 10/12 clothes from wearing 18/20. I plan to stay on 7.5mg for one more pen after this and then titrate down to a dose where I can start to introduce more calories slowly to help me maintain. I also plan on being on this medication for a long time and I have no plans to come off it completely any time soon. I know others haven't had it as easy as me but I wanted to share a positive story to show that it can be easy and we are all different. The only way to know is to just get started and see what happens. For the first time in a long time I feel like myself again, I thought I'd lost her 😍

@Blondeshavemorefun sorry you were sick again. I suppose at least you feel okay once you're sick (still not great!) I get being wary to jab as I'm sure this isn't MJ related but then at the back of your mind your like but what if it is 😳😷 I can't do an another week of this!!!

I had another shocking sleep but woke up feeling slightly less nauseous that I have done all week... still there but slightly less! (Pretty sure most of that in mental as I'm telling myself I HAVE to be better for my weekend away!!

Just had a mad moment and posted on thread number 6. New phone.

I'm an eejit and completely forgot after my bonanza last month that Voy and Numan are subscription and they've both sent me 10mg pens. I went up to 7 last week and am very happy with it. Am suppressed even today before tomorrow's jab. If I do 7 with a 10mg I'll go beyond a month. What do you think? Okay to do it?

I've had no issues apart from this week and I think it is a bug and not mj related

But many others have suffered and on low doses - where I'm on 10

It must be bugs as been fine for the past month apart from the one bad suppression day and obv I avoid grapes now as seem to set me off for some strange reason

@FlappingMadly I think if been in fridge it's fine for go slightly over a month

It's only that it's been tested for a month and no longer which is why they say throw after 30 days

Hello all! Thanks for the new thread, I'm very out of touch as I have 🐝 to busy on holiday to catch up. Having a few more relaxing days before coming home so might be around more.

No issues travelling with the MJ. It hasn't remained at fridge temperature the whole time but the cheap amazon case and ice packs have stopped it getting too hot.

I have eaten and drunk fairly normally, probably smaller portions than normal but not excessively so. I haven't been able to avoid carbs, it is all rice and noodles! I have also been drinking beer as wine is pretty rare and expensive.

I have no ideas about my weight as no scales. I was feeling pretty bloated and felt like I had undone all my work but actually I think my bra is looking roomier and the size 16 shorts I bought just before leaving still fit so hopefully it isn't too bad. I have been walking loads more than usual so fingers crossed!

@poppym12 ugh, frustrating! Being poorly creates inflammation and a temporary weight stall. Is it possible a little bit more at the weekends is more than you think? It's likely we will all stall now and then - we're putting our bodies through a lot. At 5.8 I don't think you should go too low and stick to 1200/1300.

Ugh @Blondeshavemorefun it must have been one hell of a bug. Your body will likely be a bit trigger happy now so try to stick to plain cracker like food a day ot two. Being so sick must be so tiring. Sympathy.
I have 3 7.5s in the fridge so think I'll continue with a 7.5 and titrate up at some point. Or not.

@Blondeshavemorefun I've lost just over 3st. I've also been doing alot of weight training which has changed my body composition too. 😍

Though thinking about it I might go up one as I'm off later today to look after my mum.for a couple of weeks and she eats miniscule amounts so might as well make the most of it.

@poppym12 I'm sure that time of illness and steroids must be having an impact, but it sounds so annoying. I did read an article about stalls which said they can last 8-12 weeks! This would feel like an eternity when you're paying for MJ, but I suppose the message is that sometimes you have to hang on a really long time when you're in one and it doesn't mean nothing is working. Stress really doesn't help.

@Willowy1982 - woohoo! You're a dream BMI, that's a fabulous achievement! You must be feeling superpowered!

@FlappingMadly being an under 5mg wimp, I've gone beyond 30 days as there's no way I'm chucking away anything so expensive. I work on the assumption there's always a margin of error with these things, keep it in the fridge and check it's still looking clear. Other people's sensible v. tight ratio will be different, so I wouldn't advise, but I've been good. The 5mg pens are stacking up, so if I have to go above 5mg at some point (😱) I may crack through them a bit faster.

@Blondeshavemorefun hooray for 3lb and boo to sickness! I'm sure MJ probably doesn't do our gastric systems any favours when it's trying to recover from bugs, so maybe it'll just drag things out a bit.

@weaseleyes I do feel amazing and probably buying way too many clothes at the moment 🙈 But I'm just enjoying it so much. I was so unwell and crappy in the summer before I started mounjaro, I didn't think where I'm at now was even possible for me. For the first time in ages I feel healthy and positive about my life. 😍
