@Blondeshavemorefun just got back from work and read your post...I hope all the wise words from other people were a comfort to you. It's good to be able to share on here and I think we all understand how tough life can be. Nothing stays the same for ever and you will get to a better place in 2025. You are already doing great with your weight loss. My weight battle has dominated all my life. I went through divorce at 50 and it was hard at the time but things change and life will get better. You sound a very strong person and you also have a great sense of humour. Christmas isn't the best of times when going through a break up or if you are with the wrong person and the long run up doesn't help. I wish you all the very best and hope you get the chance for some rest to recover from being poorly. You are amazing!

JoyousSwan · 04/12/2024 07:13

Been catching up over the last few days. Wanted to send you a huge hug @blondeshavemorefun 💐 Be kind to yourself, you are doing amazing ⭐️
Hope everyone who has been poorly is feeling better. There's so many yucky bugs going around at the moment.

SilverSprings510 · 04/12/2024 07:46

Wow, ten pages since I last checked in! I just apologise again, I just can’t keep up! Super busy. A little stall for me this week, have sts. Still -3st6 so that’s great, and hopefully will lose next week. Hope you’re all okay!

Weigh ins: -7, -5, -3, -2, -5, -5, -1, -3, -1, -4, -1, -4, -2, -5, -0

WitchDancer · 04/12/2024 07:52

Morning all! It's my birthday Grin
Weight is sts but I'm happy with that considering the junk I have been eating! Hopefully not too many food type presents to open and not too much cake. How weird saying that as that was what I used to look forward to!

Princessandthepie · 04/12/2024 07:55

Slow week this week!

Down 1lb but that's fine, I've still maintained what I've lost so I'm OK with that. I expected my weight loss to slow down as it's been years since I've been this low and my body will need to adjust.

I do really need to get back to exercising though. I thought I'd do it when life got less busy, turns out life got busier and it won't calm down again for a while either!!

I want to exercise as I definitely need to start toning up all over and I wish I had the self discipline to just get on with it at home! I used to go to a bootcamp a few mornings a week which was great as I knew I'd be told off if I didn't go and it seems I need that!

Bought my new size 16 jeans yesterday so off to shower to slip in to those and strut the school run!!

Happy Wednesday!! 🌞

Princessandthepie · 04/12/2024 07:58

Forgot to ask, does anyone else have really dry patches of skin where they've injected?
Bit itchy too but I guess that's the dryness rather than the injection itself.

Azuresky68 · 04/12/2024 08:38

@WitchDancer happy birthday to you and great you are still losing. It's my weigh and jab morning and the first week with barely a loss .3 of a pound. I feel very bunged up though..I am onto my last 9 pounds, well 8.7 pounds now so I have a feeling it's going to be tough!

Azuresky68 · 04/12/2024 08:39

@WitchDancer sorry just realised you St's you still a fantastic overall loss!

Good Morning Smile GIF by Holler Studios

@WitchDancer Happy Happy Birthday lovely, hope you have a wonderful day 💗

@Princessandthepie go you little princess of the svelte new jeans 👖 😍 and yes i did have, it started about 2 months in weirdly and then didn't happen again after a period of rashes, itchy patches and dry bits. Strange, I also had discoloured patches but they are away now.

@SilverSprings510 helllooo after last weeks mahoosive medal loss the body is taking a breather 😂

@Blondeshavemorefun i haven't watched it this year, and it's too late to start. I do want Coleen or Oti to win though, very strange re Tulisa though, is she annoyed she was voted out? Xx

I know i chamge my mind every day, or even hour but looking at my body and how I feel i definitely need another stone off. I'm keeping everything crossed for another 2lbs off to make me at 12st on Friday then I can work towards the next stone.

Azuresky68 · 04/12/2024 08:46

@Princessandthepie great news..another pound off. I don't get dry skin by the way. E45? I am the same with weight loss slowing down and my only exercise is walking at the moment. My goal is close but feels like it's going to be a struggle to lose the last 8.7 pounds. My lowest weight was in lockdown at 9 stone 4 but not for long. I hovered between 9 stone 7 and 10 stone for 2 years then between 10 and 10 stone 8 for a year then finally 11 stone for this last year ...what a battle!

MargoLivebetter · 04/12/2024 09:22

Happy birthday @WitchDancer . 💐🎉

Princessandthepie · 04/12/2024 09:37

Happy birthday @witchDancer

@Azuresky68 i cant even remember when i was in the 12 stone region, ever! My whole adult life, i remember 13 and half stone being my lowest weight so this is new territory for me! Its good but at bit daunting at the same time.

Getting my step count up is definitely something I need to work on, start with the basics! I just wish I felt more sprightly! I feel lethargic and so cold these days and the headaches 😩 last night my headache finally disappeared and it's still gone but today is injection day so I know it will be back.

HippoPortlyMouse · 04/12/2024 09:42

@Blondeshavemorefun I am the same way with my clothes, I'm honestly a bit horrified by how much bulk I must have been squeezing into my clothes and how much of a lumpy potato I must have looked. (I'm no vision of loveliness now, I'm just a bit less lumpy.) My jeans are definitely easier to get into, but falling down they are not. I was also last a size 12 around 20 years ago and just got fatter since then.

I'm sorry you've been having a hard time
mentally. I'm glad you've got this thread and friends to blub down the phone to! It's hard when you're a parent, but try to take the lovely @weaseleyes's advice and be gentle on yourself and make some space for your needs as well. Especially around Christmas we can get caught up in trying to do much for everyone else that we get a bit lost ourselves.

Happy Birthday @WitchDancer ! Hope you have a lovely day. It's my birthday soon and the kids don't understand why I don't want a box of chocolates!

SammySays · 04/12/2024 10:04

thank you @NippyCrab! Forgot how fast this group move! 😊

SammySays · 04/12/2024 10:04

Hi everyone, sorry for radio silence, I’ve been feeling very ill over the last few weeks so not been checking the thread. Could I have your help though please as I don’t know what to do for the best. I’ve been really lucky with side effects so far, but the last 3 weeks have been hell.
i have had really severe diarrhoea and nausea on and off over the last 3 weeks but I was also ill with flu for one of those weeks. I took my injection (5mg) last Thursday as normal and within an hour I was on the toilet with sickness and nausea. This week, I have so much food noise and cravings, I’m eating badly and able to over eat. I then seem to be being punished in the evening after dinner with sickness and an upset stomach- it’s as though I have food poisoning.
I don’t know whether to stop the injections all together, stay on 5mg and persevere (I have been on 5 for ages so don’t know why the sudden symptoms), or increase to 7.5mg to try to stop the food noise/overeating and then maybe I won’t be punished in the evening. I can’t keep feeling like this though and not sure what to do and would appreciate your opinions x

weaseleyes · 04/12/2024 10:59

Poor @SammySays - sounds like you have a lot going on! @Blondeshavemorefun has had a hideous bug and there do seem to be a lot of them around, so it could be a combination of bugs plus the MJ making your digestive system a bit more sensitive anyway. It might be worth messaging your prescriber to see what they advise, but I'd be pretty reluctant to go up a dose when you feel so rough. If it was me, I'd probably go down to 3.75 or something and then back up to 5mg next week if you're feeling better. Food noise sounds grim, but I'd focus on trying to eat calm foods and not worry about weight loss for a few days till you're recovering.

SammySays · 04/12/2024 11:04

@weaseleyes thank you for your advice. I also suffer with ulcerative colitis so also not sure if a flare has been triggered by the bug I had/potentially still have.

I thought I had seen a few people say they suffered on 5mg but strangely were fine when going up to 7.5mg so was curious if anyone would suggest moving up a dose as my suppression is non existent so I’m not making the best choices.

weaseleyes · 04/12/2024 11:08

That sounds tough. You're right, some people do seem to be better on higher doses and I'm sure some would suggest moving up. I so hate feeling sick and shitty that it makes me quite risk averse, and I am still hovering just under 5mg as a consequence. It may be that your prescriber would have more insight as to how it interacts with your ulcerative colitis, though.

No itching or dryness but I keep giving myself bruises! I bruise easily but got away without any the first couple of months but now seems to be every time 😂

I'd agree with talking to your provider.

That said, I had a bug (or reaction to MJ) about a month ago and barely got off the loo for 2 days. I'm also on 5mg and had had no issues til that point. I'm now really wary of moving up as I can't function like that so seeing how it goes and if I do go up will more likely do an 'in the middle' than the full 7.5mg.

UC is not easy and if you think you might be in a flare from the bug I'd try to wait before going up. You mentioned eating badly and overeating so maybe focus on more protein and more nutrient dense food (easier said than done i know - one of the reasons I'm here as part of this thread) and see if that helps settle things down?

Sorry to hear you're suffering badly at the moment, it's not an easy juggle!
