You look fab @owlyboo and being a single mum is hard as everything comes down to us all the time 😘

letshavetea · 02/12/2024 20:16

@owlyboo - you look absolutely fab. I’m on the October thread and slow losers thread, but I like to have a look on earlier starters threads for tips.

owlyboo · 02/12/2024 20:18

@Blondeshavemorefun like I said to a previous poster (sorry can't remember who it was) but you have the 'best' weight left to lose as the next few stone will make huge differences to how you look the closer you get to goal. I have a stone left to lose (lost just over 3 and a half) and the first couple I couldn't see much then the last stone or so I could see a massive difference.

And thanks! And yes it definitely does!! My son is neurodiverse as well so it was lovely to give my daughter a full day of focused energy as she definitely doesn't get it often!

Oh thank you @letshavetea hope you're getting on okay?

letshavetea · 02/12/2024 20:23

@owlyboo - yes thanks, I’m okay. Have lost 6lbs in ten weeks (lol). But I was on holiday for two weeks and lost a pound when I came back. Also I’ve stayed on 2.5 mg for two months because I didn’t want to spoil my holiday. Next week I’ll go up to 3.75 mg and then 5mg if that goes okay. Still having suppression (no cravings) and some side effects so want to be careful! I’m also hypothyroid which doesn’t help. Despite all this I feel really positive and it’ll take as long as it takes! Thanks for asking.

Azuresky68 · 02/12/2024 20:24

@owlyboo looking great. So nice to have one to one time with your daughter 💕

weaseleyes · 02/12/2024 20:38

Do we all get wings are we get close to goal? I think it would be only appropriate!

owlyboo · 02/12/2024 20:40

@letshavetea to lose that with a two week holiday is great! Well done you!

Thanks @Azuresky68 yeah it was lovely, I've had the best day. She's 13 and is still (mainly) so lovely, she even posts me on her instagram so can't be that much of an embarrassing mum!

HippoPortlyMouse · 02/12/2024 20:46

@Blondeshavemorefun I'm half way as well and still got 2 and a half stone to go like you. I can't see a lot of change on me. My gut is smaller but I'm still mostly in the same size clothes and only DH has commented (he knows I'm dieting so is trying to be helpful).

Feels like I've done the easy half - now the real hard bit starts.

Am impressed and also a bit envious of those who're at or near target. Well done to you all!

owlyboo · 02/12/2024 20:50

@HippoPortlyMouse it might not be that hard to lose. I hope it keeps coming off regularly for you. 🤞

HippoPortlyMouse · 02/12/2024 21:04

Thanks @owlyboo ! The last month or so it's been in fits and starts - lots of tiny ups and downs on the scales then an overnight whoosh or two - so I have been losing, just in a slightly annoying way!

Hi fives @HippoPortlyMouse

We will get there

Just very envious of those who are at Goal after 4mths

MrsHerbs79 · 02/12/2024 22:42

I’m in same position over 2 and a half gone and just under 2 and a half to go but feeling positive!!! Xxx

owlyboo · 02/12/2024 22:46

I get that @Blondeshavemorefun but I suppose being 4 stone ish over weight takes you to being obese but obviously so does 5/6/7+ stone so we all have a massive range of weights to lose but all are hard to go from obese to 'normal' weight ranges

wohmum · 03/12/2024 00:01

Looking fab @owlyboo . And great that you have got back your confidence to have pictures taken . It will be lovely to have them to look back on with your family . I have hardly any of me cos I hate them so much - not just weight but I’m so un-photogenic it’s unreal!

I’m still plodding on - have only lost 17lb in just over 3 months . Generally have good suppression and eating 1000-1200 a day. I’m only 5 ft 3 so def can’t eat much more and still lose . Have ordered a 7.5 pen for next week so hoping it speeds it up a bit!

congrats to all of you getting close to goal!

Blondeshavemorefun · 03/12/2024 00:44

@owlyboo obese ? I was super obese apparently. Tho I still quibble at that lol

But yes sadly I had a lot to lose

I started this with the mindset that May take a year. I had budgeted that as such. Or I will by the end of it

So I guess I see where I am end of next July

Just wish I could be at my goal or near it in 4mths like so many on here

Don't get me wrong - I'm thrilled for you all and envious lol

It surprises me and annoys me slightly that I don't seem to have the total lack of food noise and no wanting crisps sugar chocolate that so many get

Reading all the threads and ours - so many say about food noise stopping and they don't even think about crisps sweets etx

I wish that was me. But it's not

I've eaten crisps and dinosaur chocolate bars. In my calories but I still eat them

Why does it work so differently for some

To lose weight on 2.5/3.75 v the higher doses

Why does it work differently for so many people

Anyway I must go to bed

Midnight ponderings aren't healthy

Motnight · 03/12/2024 07:27

@Blondeshavemorefun I was super obese as well 😔. I have never posted my actual weight on here. I think that I have at least a year left of losing weight before I can think about maintaining. It's such a long journey for some of us. Which I take full responsibility for!

owlyboo · 03/12/2024 07:48

Yeah same @wohmum I don't have any comparison pictures as I refused to have photos taken! 17lbs is a great loss well done!

Yes @Blondeshavemorefun on the chart you posted I was one below super obese (still not a kind name!!) when I started. It is strange how it affects everyone so differently, it has taken away my food noise. But then again in a way it's better that you still have yours as you're losing consistently and fighting the food noise just like the rest of us will have to when we stop MJ.

NippyCrab · 03/12/2024 09:20

Morning all, it's frosty 😀

@Blondeshavemorefun i agree with Owl, you having food noise and having crisps and chocolate within your calorie range is better than not having cravings at all, DH left half a bar of Tony's chocolate last week and when I had my worst fatigue day, I ate it. I needed comfort. On this higher (low) dose I am not feeling hunger so I'm not learning to control. I've always been sensitive to any medications, I think that's why I'm okay on a low dose.

It's hard to see a difference yourself, it took until now for me to really see i have lost weight, even with some clothes being loose I still focused on my fattest area and said I couldn't see a difference.

I feel a bit doom and gloom today, I've had a horrible feeling of homesickness the last couple of days even though I'm at home. I miss DH. My wee MIL passed away 29th Dec last year and we aren't doing a mega usual Christmas. I just can't be arsed as my heart isn't in it. People are messaging saying are you all organised for Christmas? Be a hard one. I'm like fuck off you're annoying my wallowing 😂

I'm going to measure my body later on, my dress is arriving today, hopefully it will be super sparkly and make me chirpy 🎄

All the very best to everyone this morning. For anyone who has a long way to go, keep on going and be very proud of yourselves that you are doing this right now. This group is the best support! It might take another year but between now and then you will weigh less than now and in smaller clothes sizes, eating more healthy and looking after your health. Looking at it in a different way, the last time I was 9 stone was when I was 30 years old, so it's taken me 38 years to get anywhere near my target weight 😱 I think most of the group are younger than me so you are well ahead in that department! I struggled with my weight from the age of 14. I am 4foot 11, now 68..not even at 9 stone yet..hopefully by the middle of January. Being overweight, feeling judged as greedy, worrying abou what I eat and drink, feeling guilty about not exercising, spending loads of money and trying nearly every diet plan in the world has been a constant focus all my life. Thank goodness for MJ and hoping I can maintain this time 🤞Thanks to everyone in the group for being there and keeping going x

Azuresky68 · 03/12/2024 09:39

@NippyCrab just read your post and thanks for sharing. It's such a difficult time of year for so many and for different reasons. Be 100% certain that there are many of us that feel the same on the run up to Christmas..and it's such a long run up these days. Have you the time to do something nice for yourself today? Plan something different when you next see your DH? Or feel free to be fed up? No need to reply by the way. Sending hugs x

NippyCrab · 03/12/2024 10:12

@Azuresky68 thank you, I'm off out to the beach shortly and I'm going to go and have a coffee and read to get time away from the dogs. Everything seems a mountain doesn't it at times. He's home Thursday night for 3 days and we have a few things to organise. He's off 2 weeks over the festive season which is good. I'll get some music on and I've 2 episodes of the Archers to catch up on while walking.
I think I need some buscupan lol, the slightly higher dose of 50 clicks hasn't agreed with my intestines 😂
Is it goal weight yet 🤔 😂😂😂😂

@NippyCrab the beach sounds lovely 😍 I am 9 stone 9 and goal is 9 stone. Escaping Christmas and NY to the sunshine with BF ..just the 2 of us..happy days! No cards and no presents because we don’t need anything aoart from eachothers company. Hoping to get to goal in January

HippoPortlyMouse · 03/12/2024 10:51

Sorry if this has already been posted, but this little piece of research I think might help understand why we have such different reactions to mounjaro. (I was pondering your midnight ponderings, @Blondeshavemorefun ).

It lists 4 different phenotypes, ie. having different causes for obesity (and people might fit into more than one) and suggests different treatments/medications for each type.

So mounjaro might simply not work so well for some of us - ie. still getting some food noise, etc - if the cause for our obesity doesn't align with the mounjaro treatment.

MargoLivebetter · 03/12/2024 11:00

Hugs @NippyCrab . I hope your sparkly dress works some cheery magic.

Blondeshavemorefun · 03/12/2024 11:48

Thanks @Motnight makes me feel better not only me

Overweight. Yes. Fat yes. Obese probably. Super obese I object to

@owlyboo not sure I'm fighting the food noise as I'm eating the bloody bad stuff. I'm not even a lover of chocolate but I'm eating dd choccy dinosaurs 😳

@NippyCrab sorry you are feeling down my little crustian and sorry about mil 💐 and sure you will look fab in dress
