Amazing losses everyone- wow -
@rockingbird I reckon follow the advise of others and take it low and slow! I seem to remember you’ve had lots of side effects ? and 2.5mgs has been ok for you so do the 45 clicks for a 3.75mg dose and see how you go. I’ve been on 2.6mgs for 9 weeks now - did bonus dose last week, which was probably more than 2.5mgs - my suppression has been totally manageable- can eat less with no problems but still feel hungry and enjoy meals which I like cause it feels right. I have no desire to snack or eat high sugar/salt/fat things or indeed to drink alcohol! This week I’ve lost another 1lb!!
Start weight:
11.5lbs (I’d lost a few pounds before MJ so was about 11.7lbs)
CW: 9.9 3/4 lbs
GW: 9st or maybe just below to give me a buffer !!
Im going up to 3.75mgs today so wish me luck !! its with slight hesitation as I’ve been consistently losing about 1 lb a week (post the initial quicker drop off) I’d love to get down to 9.7lbs for Christmas but not sure I’ll make it.
Feeling so happy about the weight loss and as someone else said the confidence and happiness gained by feeling good in your body is priceless.

NSV : my dressing gown or which I could hardly bring the tie side together in the middle - now I can wrap right side completely and comfortably over to the left ! Just realised the morning !! 😀

This is embarassing to admit, but my husband bought me a gorgeous shabumi silk dressing gown 3 xmas’s ago. It fit when i got it and i loved wafting about in it of a morning. And I slowly I got to the stage, that I couldn’t even get it to meet in the middle .

What’s embarrassing is, I didn’t have scales and couldn’t understand why. Whenever I tried it on, which became rare, I felt bemused and just put it back on the back of the door. Like my brain wouldn’t accept I’d put on so much weight.

as my stomach has shrunk so much since on these drugs, It now fits properly and I can waft again. 😂

recklessgran · 14/12/2024 10:37

@Fizzleawayy you look beautiful - I looked at your lovely pic and wondered why you were still here on this thread! You ought to feel so proud.
Well, guess what. I'm here - I'm up! Not floored at all. So, either my jab prep has done something or finally my body is getting used to 2.5mgs at last. I took the jab a bit later in the day than usual [late afternoon as opposed to late morning] so that it would be virtually bedtime by the time the usual overwhelming tiredness hit. For once, I slept really well and didn't get up until 7.00am this morning. Yippee! I feel only slightly dehydrated and a bit nauseous but have full suppression and am not remotely comatose. Hoping pride doesn't come before a fall as they say.....
Have a great weekend everyone whatever you're doing - I love reading all the updates. Lots of Christmas prep needed here as we're expecting a new granddaughter to arrive later this week so I want everything ready so I can help DD3 and make the most of the long awaited newborn snuggles.

ChaosDream · 14/12/2024 12:00

@Fizzleawayy you look amazing 🤩 where is your dress from?

EVK · 14/12/2024 13:39

How wonderful @recklessgran granddaughter on here way 🩷Lots of Christmas prep here too. @Fizzleawayy your dress does look beautiful.

EVK · 14/12/2024 13:42

@Losingthetimber here’s to wafting- I’m now wondering what this special dressing gown of yours looks like - sounds gorgeous- mines nothing to write home about and doesn’t waft but I was chuffed that it now fits again 🤣

letshavetea · 14/12/2024 13:57

@Fizzleawayy - that dress is fab. You look great. Where is it from please? I have a similar hourglass shape (or will do when more weight comes off!).

rockingbird · 14/12/2024 14:21

Went for 45 clicks, low and slow it is.. we shall see 🙈 will step on the scales tomorrow am to see if I've lost this week! Quite right @EVK I had terrible nausea weeks 1- 4 then it calmed a little but this last week I've felt very little food suppression hence me wanting to go up from wk8.

littleburn · 14/12/2024 14:29

10 weeks in for me and after a plateau (I'd hit that pesky 10% weight loss) I weighed again today and I've lost 3lb in 3 weeks. Pleased to be a 'slow and steady' loser after the plateau! Seeing a 10 on the scales for the first time in 12 years (pre-children, pre-divorce me) has been pretty emotional too.

I've moved up to 7.5 the last 2 injections with no bad side-effects and also tried injecting in the back of my arm this week to mix it up a bit. It's not as fiddly as it sounds if you squish your arm against the table so the fatty bit bulges out!

Week 10
Height: 5'2"
SW: 12st 2
CW: 10st 11
GW: 10st initially, 9st 7 ideally
Total loss: 19lb

NearlyNewHip · 14/12/2024 14:45

Weighed again this morning and still 2 lbs down, will take that instead of cheating with my early weigh in (was 2.5 lbs yesterday before work Christmas do). That's week 9 done and 17 lbs down x
Just did my bonus dose from 5mg pen and the twist still worked, thank god (maybe an older pen? Use before date was September 2025)
Had a little cry last night (drunk), going through all the photos people had posted of the Christmas do and it was a happy cry x I looked fine in all the photos and didn't go through them thinking I looked like a fat giant!!!

Vegemite123 · 14/12/2024 15:07

I've just started (last week and this week) developing red patches on my thighs where the injection has gone in. Has anyone else had this?

Otherwise, all going well. I'm still on 3.75 (I've had a total of 10 injections now).

Weighed myself this morning and have had a sudden extra loss (which may well go back on tomorrow, but I don't think I'll be too stressed) and I am now officially at the same weight I reached at my last "proper" weight loss attempt. Any lower than this, and I'll be the lowest weight in about 13 years!! On one hand, I'm super happy. On the other hand, I'm sad that I put it on after previous successes :(

TheChosenTwo · 14/12/2024 17:16

@Vegemite123 i haven’t, have you always injected into your thighs? I do alternating sides of my stomach and never had any redness but I was watching someone’s YouTube video recently who said they got redness with some needles and not with others - made of different materials or different chemicals in the antibac wipes perhaps? Can’t quite remember now, sorry, but others on this thread has also reported red marks so I imagine it’s a fairly common side effect.

week 7 done, another 3lbs down which makes it 23lbs lost in total. Doing my last 5mg tonight then moving up to the 7.5mg next week.

Pegsmum · 14/12/2024 17:25

@Vegemite123 Yes I get the red patches too. Only started happening around week 6, they are raised and sometimes itchy and take ages to fade!

Gr3atEscape · 14/12/2024 18:56

Hi all, have been away from this thread for some time. So good to see so many of you doing well on this. I am absolutely loving it, 2 stone down in 2 months and not much in the way of side effects.
Just came on as I've had such an NSV day today that just reinforces to me how much this medication isn't just about weight loss. It was my son's birthday and we were hosting family over. The food did not dominate me!!! First time ever in my life where I wasn't nibbling and sneaking extra bits. Where I made a cake the night before and it wasn't burning a hole in my mind to take a sliver off. I cannot get over how much freer I have felt and how much more enjoyable the day was without the distraction. Also not having a pile of guilt hanging over me having not binged for the day. I tried intuitive eating for a while, spent a fortune on a course but this drug is allowing me to see so much more of my negative behaviours associated with food than all of that self work allowed me to.
Anyway, bit of a ramble from someone who hasn't been on in a few weeks but don't have many people in real life to talk about this to.

Gr3atEscape · 14/12/2024 19:00

Also how good is it to have Christmas stuff in the house that will actually last till Christmas! I would be on my second or third restock by now normally!

Gilly1C · 14/12/2024 19:15

Hey everyone, I have a bit of a conumdren. What the actual F is going on with 7.5? I took my second 7.5 this morning and actually been hungry/thinking about food all day. This is the first time on my journey this has happened. I just don't understand it, any advice appreciated please

Losingthetimber · 14/12/2024 19:15

Pegsmum · 14/12/2024 17:25

Me too, try antihistamines and hydrocortisone cream. I take a piritize before I inject, suspect I should take the day before, I recall as I’m allergic to mosquito bites a doctor telling me I should be taking antihistamines for a week or two before I go. So maybe that’s the answer, a daily antihistamine for a week before.

I also put the cream on immediately and keep putting it on throhoug the day, I do this for a couple of days, and it seems to have alleviated it a lot. Well it did last week. Injected this morning, but I get the reaction the next day, so will see what tomorrow brings.

my husband has some billy big bollock antihistamines which I will maybe take one of tomorrow,

injection site reactions are very common for any injection.

Tohaveandtohold · 14/12/2024 19:20

@littleburn , you’re so close to your goal weight, that must feel so good and achievable. Well done.
@Vegemite123 i always notice a bit of redness on my thigh the day after the injection then it clears within the week because I don’t see it during the next jab day. I also try and alternate injection sites every week.
Week 10 done for me and even though I didn't take up to my usual 5mg on my bonus dose last week because my pen jammed, this week's suppression has been good and have almost a 3lbs loss.
SW: 87.1kg (192lbs)
Goal: Maybe 60kg (132lbs)
CW: 73kg (161 lbs)
10 week total is 14.1kg or 31 lbs
I was moaning some weeks ago that I’m losing weight everywhere but my belly, well, the belly is finally going down as well and getting soft so I’m hopeful.
Glad everyone is getting on well and we’re all finding our rhythm. I’ll be starting my second 5mg pen tonight and as we get paid earlier because of Christmas, I think I’ll order my next pen (which may be my last) but still unsure if I should get 5 again or 7.5

Pegsmum · 14/12/2024 19:26

@Losingthetimber I’ll try that, thank you.

Completely relate!

lickycat · 14/12/2024 20:10

Jab and weigh in day for me today, but I forgot to weigh this morning as I was quite poorly after a night out. I didn’t go crazy with the alcohol, but I don’t seem to be able to tolerate it at all on MJ. I was enjoying a few glasses of wine last night, but this morning you’d think I’d been on a complete bender!

Thank you all for the advice about bonus doses. Instead of faffing with a hard twist and potentially messing it up, I ordered the insulin needles and tried that. So easy to get the exact dose, which was the 5th dose from my 5mg pen. So glad I didn’t waste it, it’s worth so much money!

Has the temp dropped where you live? In my area today it’s been an unusually clear and sunny morning, so the temp dropped considerably. MJ or not, my appetite always increases when the temp falls.

Yes! It’s just so freeing to not constantly be thinking about food! I went to a drinks party last night - had one drink, zero snacks and didn’t feel at all deprived. It’s so much more peaceful.
