@recklessgran well done! I hope your pre prepping makes a difference!

@igivein don’t feel down! If you were sensible then it’s probably just water weight!

Im honestly annoyed at having to go out constantly for events/work/christmas at the moment. I went out Sunday for a catch up with friends which included a meal, Tuesday we went to winter wonderland and we don’t live in London so that was a whole day out of the house. Today is my Christmas work do so another 3 course meal and on Sunday we are meeting family for a Christmas gathering which includes another meal out.

That doesn’t include all the Christmas work events Iv had to do recently.

Next week we are out for another meal as a treat for my step daughter before Xmas as she’s not spending the Xmas period with us this year.

It’s never ending and I’m amazed Iv even lost any weight in Nov/dec!

Normal weight day is tomorrow morning but....works Christmas do tonight so I'm cheating and weighing this morning (will weigh again in the morning and see what the damage is after a 3 course xmas dinner and booze). Usually have my jab on a Friday night but will delay until the morning. Its my bonus dose and if the twist doesn't work, don't think I'll be able to handle the syringe method drunk as a skunk (free bar). Week 9 (5 x 2.5 and 4 x 5mg) and I've lost 2.5 lbs, 17.5 in total.
Will decide in the morning which weigh in is the "official" one x

It’s also my works Xmas do today and Iv weighed today (official weigh day is tomorrow) but I’m not actually drinking at mine this year.

I hope everyone is enjoying those dreaded Christmas meals and parties though and their new or re-discovered outfits. I am about to brave a search through my wardrobe to see what fits for mine today.

I am celebrating though, for some unknown reason the constipation has miraculously gone, at least for now. I never thought I would be so happy for a 💩. All I want for Christmas is .......

Good morning, ladies. I haven’t posted for a while cos I’ve been feeling awful 😞
Side effects have taken over my life and I’ve been pretty close to stopping MJ completely. I just feel so unwell all the time. And probably related to the fact I’m barely eating, losing too much weight too quickly because I just feel sick and overwhelmingly tired all the time.

so I’ve decided I’m going back to 2.5 mg for my next dose (have been on 5) and may even drop to less. I think I need to give myself the chance to be well enough to develop good eating habits and get myself to the gym. So I’m going to go for minimal suppression and potentially become a slow loser now.

Took my 9th dose onMonday 9th December (5 mg)
I’ve lost another 4 lb making my total weight loss 2 stone and 1 pound over 8 weeks.

SW 15 stone 1 lb
CW 13 stone
GW 10 stone 3 lbs

Fingers crossed my new strategy will work.

Not eating enough does make you feel very nauseous and wiped out. So you’re probably in a vicious circle, im afraid. I would try to get food in you, be it dry toast, or a protein shake. You will likely find eating makes you feel better.

i would potentially miss a dose, then start again at 2.5.

WafflingDreamer · 13/12/2024 10:19

Those of you with little gains are likely to find that it is water retention after higher salt intake. I weigh every day and I regularly go up and down. I won't weigh after my nightshifts as I can gain up to 7lb.

Bluenose1966 · 13/12/2024 10:58

@JustKeepsBreathing I am sticking to 2.5mg as don’t want worse side effects and I am still losing fine. Intend to decrease mine when have reached GW to maintain.
Week 8 for me
SW 12st 2lb
CW 10 st 7lb
GW 9st 10lb
I get weighed everyday and quite often 2lb increases overnight then lose it day or so later. Main thing I suppose is overall downward trajectory.

Tried a suitcase of clothes out of the garage on I had forgotten about. All size 12s and some had label on still. Couldn’t believe they mostly fitted.

I have annoying people saying to stop losing weight now, with that mock concerned look on their face, you would think I was anorexic the way they carry on. I am still well over 10 stone.

I'm in my last week of 5mg and I have had very little suppression. Has anyone had the same experience but felt more on the 7.5mg?

i feel more on 7.5. One week in, second jab due tomorrow. Still a level of suppression today, but less. My experience is following the manufacturers guidelines on dosing and what to eat etc, works very well.

Anyone else sticking with 5mg for now? I’ve just ordered my third 5mg, am two weeks into my second one. I feel fine on 5mg (now!) and although suppression isn’t as strong as it was I’m still losing but also feel I can eat enough without arousing any suspicion (not told a soul IRL). Sounds ridiculous but I also would like the weight loss to slow a little. Literally just completed my order and then thought have I wasted my money and should I have gone to 7.5? Anyone happily staying on 5mg for a while?

I've got a 5mg pen and have done 3.75, 3 and 3. Jab day is Sunday night and will probably go for 3.75 this week and then 3 next before Christmas.
There will be quite a lot left in it, but not much I can do about that! I have two more 5mg pens too as thought 7.5 v ambitious Grin

WafflingDreamer · 13/12/2024 13:09

I'm really torn about what to do. By the time I finish the pen I have in the fridge I'll have done 7 jabs of 5mg. I need to order my next pen on Friday as I get paid even though the 5mg pen in the fridge wont be finished until 13th Jan. I really don't know whether to order 7.5mg and then just use 5mg if it's still working but know I have the option to go up if I need to. Or just commit to doing another whole month of 5mg.

However I really hate the thought of wasting medicine and having to throw it away. Whilst I personally don't mind using a 6th dose at 35 days that still wouldn't use all of it if I only took 5mg out of a 7.5mg pen.

I guess if I ordered 5mg next week I could always draw up a bigger dose with an insulin syringe if I'm really struggling and then order a 7.5mg pen on my Jan pay day

See I didn’t even think about ordering a 7.5 but just doing a couple more of 5mg from it-how daft am I??

Yes, I’ve ordered a 2nd 5mg pen. I have monthly chats with my prescriber and at the last one decided that my suppression is decent on 5. It’s not that I never experience hunger and I am able to enjoy a meal, but all desire to snack and overeat has vanished, I seem to have found an ideal dose for me for the time being.

Evenstar · 13/12/2024 18:10

I have gone for a second 5mg pen as I don’t want to feel unwell over Christmas, I have had some upper back pain since my last jab and don’t want to risk it. I have lost some weight this week after a plateau and feel happy with the level of suppression etc for now.

I went out for lunch today and had fish, chips and mushy peas. I enjoyed it but ate about half the chips and mushy peas and didn’t want more. It wasn’t an excessive portion, but I realised I was full and just stopped. I am beginning to understand how different this is, I wasn’t eating badly but probably the portions were too large. DH and I also agreed that growing up as the children of war time babies with grandparents who had known both wars has instilled a “clear your plate” mentality and it is hard to overcome.

Interestingly, I see a very different attitude in the young parents I meet in my voluntary work, their children are not pressed to eat every scrap and most of them do baby led weaning with a variety of foods and the babies have free will on what and how much of it they eat. Many of the parents are very aware of ultra processed food too, I feel eventually there will be a positive change in food culture for younger generations.

Only problem is I eat all 4 in one day😂

@WafflingDreamer I ordered 7.5mg and I will be taking 5mg from it, although Xmas week I will take 7.5mg! Ha

@Evenstar Hope you enjoyed your lunch! I was always told growing up to eat the most expensive thing first on the plate so basically the meat.
So if we had a curry to eat the chicken first and don’t fill up on the rice as that’s cheap.
If it was a treat takeaway then to eat the ribs or beef first instead of filling up on chips as again, chips are cheap.
We were never forced to eat everything on the plate and I say the same thing to my kids.

When dishing up, I always ask how hungry they are and dish up according to if they say ‘starving’ or ‘not that hungry’.

I was speaking to a women at my Xmas lunch today and she said she was full but she still had the ‘best bits’ left on her plate, so she was still eating it. Apparently she was always told to eat the worst bits on the plate first to get them out the way and that means you get the taste of the best bits of your meal for the longest.

Fizzleawayy · 13/12/2024 20:16

Had my Xmas lunch today, it was only 2 courses and not 3 like I thought.

Ate the veg/meat and left the potatoes and only ate half my pudding which was small anyway. I did have 2 single gins and diet tonic and I feel a bit sick now. Not sure if it’s the gin or the food.

Here is what I wore. I feel better than I did at the start of this journey but still a long way to go.

Wish the hip dip would disappear.

@Fizzleawayy you look fabulous

I took the kids to mcdonalds and I've been so good about either just getting a wrap or eating at home but I ate my daughters cheeseburger without thinking after id eaten my chicken salad and I feel so full and sick now like it's all just sitting right there. Mad really as before MJ I'd have polished off a large meal and eaten her cheeseburger as a snack too

Me and my DP (also on MJ) absolutely love a Big Tasty so now that they are back we've had one once a week...except we've been sharing a large meal and a side of cheese bites between us instead of having one each Grin.
